Final Surprise has missed a couple of engagements recently due to travel issues and last time to soft ground. The good-to-soft conditions here should suit. On both of those occasions he was well backed in the morning. He ran a very promising race in a point-to-point behind Crystal Island, who is highly thought of, and then a promising 7th in a solid bumper where he travelled very well until 2 furlongs out. His trainer does well in bumpers, and he can go close here.

India under-19s looked impressive with their batting in the semi-final against Afghanistan, but their bowling and fielding looked average at best and England can exploit that. This England team looks like a very united side, and the impressive Mayes and Rew have looked very useful. Dawkins, who I saw last summer, looked a very impressive player but hasn't fired yet. This could be his day.

Pakistan have just wiped the floor with Australia, who I must admit looked pretty poor, but they should be much too strong for the Netherlands.

Scotland are no pushovers, and it wouldn't be the greatest surprise if they gave this a right go. But West Indies really should have too many guns here.

India are the best team in the world at the moment and will outclass the USA. They have class all the way through the team and will take the beating in this World Cup.

This is a game between two closely matched teams, but at the odds Afghanistan could be the value bet, especially in these conditions where spin will come to the fore.

England are absolute certainties to win this game. If they cannot beat Nepal easily, then we might as well all give up.

Hopefully Phil Salt is over his back spasms from the last game. Against this weak attack, he can dominate and clock up a big score.

Ireland are no pushovers in T20, but Sri Lanka, although well beaten by England in the recent series, should be too strong for them here.

South Africa have been accused of being chokers in the past, but they must be certainties to beat Canada in this group game.
