Josh Rock

50 WIN

@13.00

Josh Rock looks to be a solid pick here. His recent performances on the recent Euro Tour and Players Championship hint he has a good chance of going all the way here.

Stephen Bunting

@17.00

Bunting looks like a great pick. The top half of the draw looks to be opening up, and his performances on the Euro Tour and recent Players Championships suggest Bunting is a contender here. 17.00 looks like a good price.
20:00 James Wade vs Luke Littler

James Wade 5.50

@1.91

Win

I'm taking the handicap on James Wade here now. Although I do expect Luke Littler to win, I think James Wade can get close to the World Champion here. I'll take the +5.5 Legs here. I have Wade getting at least 13 legs here. Littler's last two games have won on the overs market, suggesting players are getting close to him.

I'm looking at the overs here. James Wade is playing well enough to push Luke Littler here, and I believe Littler will win. But James has shown he's played well enough to get close, so the overs look good here.

20:15 James Wade vs Jonny Clayton

James Wade

50 WIN

@2.25

Win

62

James Wade here for me. He's played some great darts in this tournament so far and appears to be dropping into the 6 or more visits required to win a leg than Clayton is. So 2.25 on Wade looks to be good value here.

James Wade 2.50

I'll take the +2.5 Handicap on Wade here. I fancy Wade to win, and this gives a little extra insurance.

I'm taking the unders here. I fancy Wade to win this one, and I'm thinking a 17-10/17-11 scoreline. So @1.95, there looks to be value in the unders.

21:15 Luke Littler vs Andrew Gilding

Over 25.50

Total Legs

50 WIN

@1.91

Win

I'm going for the overs here. I expect that Littler will be victorious, but Andrew Gilding has shown enough so far in this year's match play to suggest he can at least go with Littler. So the over market is looking appealing here.

21:45 Stephen Bunting vs Jonny Clayton

Jonny Clayton

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.95

Win

47

I'm edging to Clayton for this one. The Welshman looks to be finishing slightly more often than Bunting in 5 visits or less so far this tournament and on the Euro Tour, although there's not a whole lot in it.
20:15 Gian van Veen vs James Wade

James Wade

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@2.30

Win

James Wade has produced some excellent darts in his first two matches at the Matchplay. He seems to be finishing legs in 5 visits or less, or often the Gian has. For that reason, I believe 2.3 for the Machine to win and advance to the semi-final is good value.

22:15 Michael van Gerwen vs Josh Rock

Josh Rock

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.57

Win

28

Josh Rock played very well against Ross Smith. After a slow start, he finished 5 of his 10 legs he won in 4 visits, something Michael didn't achieve at all in his game against Raymond. Michael doesn't look to be playing his best at the moment, whereas Josh Rock does, and I'm happy to take 1.57 here on Josh Rock.

I was very impressed with Josh Rock against Ross Smith, finishing 5 of his 10 legs in 4 visits. Michael, on the other hand, was less impressive in his match against Raymond. If they play to their last matches' performances, I expect Josh Rock to win and beat the handicap here.

I'm taking the unders here. I'm expecting quite a dominating score in Josh Rock's favor here, and Michael will really need to pick up his form if he wants to get near Josh Rock playing like this.
21:15 Luke Littler vs Jermaine Wattimena

Luke Littler

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.11

I'm taking Littler here. I can't really see much else happening in the game. In his opener he was finishing legs in 5 visits or less the majority and barely gave Searle a sniff. I expect pretty much the same against Wattimena here.

Luke Littler -4.50

I'll take the handicap here. I'm expecting a dominant Littler win. He was managing to finish his legs against Searle in 5 visits or less a frightening amount, and Wattimena I don't expect to get close.

I'm taking the unders here. Littler produced a dominant display against Searle, and I'm expecting similar again against Wattimena. Wattimena has never won half or more of the legs in their previous encounters with 10-4, 16-2, 6-1, and 6-2 results respectively.

20:15 Chris Dobey vs Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price

@1.44

Gerwyn Price here for me. They've met quite a few times recently, twice this past month, both of which Gerwyn got the better of Chris Dobey on the Euro Tour and in the Polish Masters. Price looks to be playing the better of the two going off the previous matches here in Blackpool. Signs for me pointing to a convincing Price win.

Gerwyn Price -2.50

Handicap 2-way

@1.91

Win

Price has gotten the better of Dobey twice this past month with a 7-3 and 6-2 victory on the Euro Tour and in the Polish Masters. In their previous matches at the Winter Gardens, it hints to me we could be looking at something similar. So I'm happy taking the -2.5 Handicap here.

I'm going for the unders here. The previous H2H meetings this month both went the way of Price with a 7-3 and a 6-2 victory on the Euro Tour and in the Polish Masters. I'm expecting a convincing victory here for the Welshman.

I'm going for the overs here. Going off the performances in the last matches, both were good, but I'd edge Gilding. Going off the stats from Players Championships 20 & 21, I'd be looking at Dirk winning. So I'm opting instead for a close match and picking the overs for this.

Jonny Clayton -2.50

@2.10

Clayton - 2.50 is the pick here for me. Recent form to me indicates a relatively comfortable win for Clayton here, as would the stats from their last matches. 1.5 on Clayton looks a little too skinny for me, as does the unders market, so I prefer the handicap here.

Another tight game for me has me again picking the overs. If Bunting plays as he can, I believe he takes it. If he plays more like he did against Searle, then I think Anderson takes it. But either way, it looks a tight pick, so the overs look the nicer play here.

I'm going for the overs here. I agree with the bookmakers making Gian the favorite, but not as big a favorite as the odds are saying here. I expect this to be quite a tight game, so I'm preferring instead a play on taking the overs here.

Josh Rock

Josh Rock looks the value here to me. Recent stats suggest he's a contender for this tournament. From the Euro Tour and recent Players Championships, he is finishing legs in 5 darts or less more frequently than Ross Smith.
20:55 Michael van Gerwen vs Raymond van Barneveld

Raymond van Barneveld 2.50

I'm taking the +2.5 on Barneveld here. I don't think either have been playing as well as they can do recently. Michael has not played that great at the US or Polish Masters. RVB at the recent Euro Tour or Players Championships. Based on this, I can see it going either way, but I'll take a bit of insurance on RVB.

I believe this matchup goes close, hence the selection of the overs. I do believe Gerwyn Price wins, but I have it closer than the odds suggest. 2.00 on the overs looks like the best bet here.
19:15 Chris Dobey vs Ricardo Pietreczko

Chris Dobey

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.30

Win

15

I can only see a Chris Dobey win here. Dobey has been playing some great darts lately. He finishes legs regularly in 5 visits or less, and it's taken some top performances to stop him from going further in recent tournaments. He really should have too much for what Pietreczko has been producing, so 1.3 looks to have some value in it here.

Under 16.50

@1.80

I'm really expecting a dominant performance from Dobey here. Comparing what they've both been producing lately, I struggle to see anything but a dominating result, and the 1.8 on the unders looks good here to me.

21:45 Stephen Bunting vs Ryan Joyce

Stephen Bunting

50 WIN

@1.30

Win

Bunting is the pick for me here. Recently, Bunting has been finishing legs in 5 visits or less far more frequently than Joyce has. If this goes to recent form, I can really only see Bunting winning this one.

50 WIN

@1.80

I'm expecting quite a commanding win for Bunting tonight, going off the frequency he's been finishing legs in 5 visits or less in comparison to Joyce over the recent matches. So, the unders look good to me here.
20:55 Luke Littler vs Ryan Searle

Under 15.50

Total Legs

50 WIN

@1.95

Win

47

I'm not really seeing the value in the winner market here, but I do expect Luke Littler to win this one quite convincingly. Searle did little to make me think this wasn't going to be a one-sided match-up at the Euro Tour, and that's what I'm expecting. So under 15.5 looks good to me here @ 1.95.
20:05 Jonny Clayton vs Martin Schindler

Jonny Clayton

50 WIN

@1.57

Win

28

Clayton on this one for me. Recent performances appear to show Clayton finishing legs in 4-5 visits much more consistently than Schindler has been doing. At odds of 1.57 over a first to 10 legs, I'm more than happy to go for Clayton here.
19:15 Gary Anderson vs Luke Woodhouse

Gary Anderson

Win Match 2-way

50 WIN

@1.25

Win

12

Gary Anderson looks to be playing some great darts recently and, for me, is a genuine threat to win the whole thing. He's finishing legs far more often in the 5 visits or less range than Woodhouse is, so I'm expecting a commanding win here from the Flying Scotsman.
15:45 Dave Chisnall vs Mike De Decker

Mike De Decker

Win Match 2-way

300 WIN

@1.73

Win

219

De Decker for me here. I don't believe either player has been producing their best recently, but De Decker doesn't seem to be going down to a 7th visit being required to finish a leg as often as Chisnall has been recently. So, De Decker should be good enough here to beat that kind of performance.
14:55 Peter Wright vs Jermaine Wattimena

Jermaine Wattimena

Win Match 2-way

300 WIN

@1.73

Win

219

We've not seen much from Peter Wright recently. He didn't play in the last round of Players Championships. Wattimena has. I backed Wattimena to beat Peter at the World Championships and got stung, and I may be again, but I am expecting Jermaine to come out and defeat Peter. For me, the numbers Peter had produced from Players Championships 17, 18, and 19 aren't as good as what Wattimena produced then, and I've no reason to believe that'll be any different. So 1.73 on Wattimena looks just about right to me for a Wattimena win.
14:05 Rob Cross vs Dirk van Duijvenbode

Rob Cross

Win Match 2-way

300 WIN

@2.00

-300

Looks like the bookmakers have this one pretty even, and they're edging for Dirk. I disagree here and think there's value at evens on Rob Cross. Their head-to-head looks pretty much even, but the performances of the two over the last Euro Tour and round of Players Championships have me edging for Cross here over Dirk.

13:15 Damon Heta vs Andrew Gilding

Damon Heta

Win Match 2-way

300 WIN

@1.44

Lose

-300

I'm going with Heta here. Yes, Gilding has actually defeated Damon in their last two meetings, but Heta was victorious in Players Championship 20 and looks like he's playing some good darts. Heta looks like he's consistently playing the better darts of the two, with Gilding producing some flashes of great performances recently. For me, if they both play to where they play on average, Damon should have too much for Gilding.

I'm going for a surprise here. Gian's numbers have been good. Looking at the stats, Gian looked to be finishing in five visits or less more often than Luke Humphries did, going off the last Euro Tour, Players Championships, and US Masters for the figures.
20:05 Danny Noppert vs Cameron Menzies

Danny Noppert

Noppert to win here for me. Looks to be great value. He beat Cameron last year at the Grand Slam, and I'm expecting the same here. Performance-wise at the last Euro Tour and Players Championships 20 & 21, I'd be looking at a Noppert win here.
