I love the form of BALLYBAWN BELTER going into this race. The fact the horse has won two out of five times racing at this track makes it more appealing. Today's jockey has a good relationship with the horse, and the strike rate is decent too. 1 from 1 over this trip, and it has to be in the mix come the finish.

You'll have heard the saying, "A change of scene is as good as a rest." Well, that could well be the case here. In the last 12 months Tony Carroll has had seven runners over this trip and in this class of race, and two of those won. That, coupled with the fact I like to follow Territories as a sire in sprint races, presents a pretty good reason at these odds to have a small each-way bet on DRAGON GOD.

WYLD BILL fits the bill here. He is a massively progressive horse and has been in great form in his last few races. His trainer has a great strike rate at Lingfield, as does the horse, being 2 from 2 over course and distance. In fact, every statistic is hugely impressive, and I think his odds, even considering he'd not raced in this company previously, massively underestimate his talent. Huge player.

INNAMORATO is a horse I really like, easily said as I'm a part owner of him. He's steadily improving and is really starting to show some of the potential he had in France. This isn't an enormous step up in grade, and the addition of first-time cheekpieces will help him to concentrate on his task. He has to have a big chance ongoing to suit him.

POPTON POINT is by Soldier of Fortune, a sire I follow in NH Flat races. Add to that the fact that Jenny Candlish, the trainer, has 2 wins from 5 runners (40% SR) in NH Flat races. The second-placed horse when she won on debut, Joan's Choice, has since won a similar event. These can only be positives. This track isn't exactly the same type as Wetherby, but it's pretty similar. Huge player in this.

TUTTI QUANTI has a style of jumping and running that suits Newbury. He's a very effective and efficient jumper and nearly always lands with decent momentum. Paul Nicholls's hurdlers have been running amazingly well, having a 46.67% SR, and he's got a 50% strike rate with his 6-year-olds. Must have a great chance here.
