I think Germany are the likely winners of this tournament. They're almost always certs to make the final 4 in international tournaments whilst this is a home tournament for them. England look ropey at the back, France are limited in certain areas and mostly I just think Germany have far an away the best manager in the competition, so I am backing them to win this one.

Hungary have played 24 matches since the start of 2022 and they've lost just 3 of them whilst they've beaten England twice in that time and beaten Germany as well whilst they were unbeaten in the qualifiers, so given that there aren't really that many favourites for this tournament and Hungary have been flying then I think they could be surprise finalists which is why I am backing them EW for the title.

There usually aren't too many goals for the top scorer in this competition but 5 being the total last edition whilst it was even just 3 goals in 2012. Hungary are goalscorers and they've been flying for the last 2 years even beating the likes of England (twice) and Germany which makes me think they can go far here. Varga is a forward with 46 league goals in 55 matches at club level in the last two seasons whilst he's scored 6 in his 11 matches for Hungary, so I think he's got a great chance to score goals for this Hungary side and I think worth backing EW for the top scorer.

Not convinced Portugal will go that far in this tournament but with Roberto Martinez in charge then there'll be open matches and tend to be flat track bullies which is perfect for scoring goals in their group which looks pretty weak. I think Fernandes will probably get more minutes than Ronaldo whilst he is a consistent scorer at club and nation level, so I think he's worth backing top scorer.

I think the likelihood is that Germany will be on the opposite side to France and England who are the two favourites whilst Portugal are a beatable team when it's a manager like Roberto Martinez at the helm. I don't really think England have the defence to make it to the final and France have obviously been there many times before, so I could see home team Germany making the final against probably the best team in the world in France.

I think Turkey have shown a lot of attacking flair and come through tough matches this season with 3 of their 4 wins seeing both teams score whilst I don't think Netherlands are all that and they did lose 2-3 to Austria who Turkey just beat, so I am backing a Turkey win and btts here.

I do think that Akanji is a decent option to score in this match because obviously he's played in England a couple of seasons now and it accustomed to the English way of playing whilst at Man City he did score a couple from the back last season and is certainly a physical presence, so I am backing Akanji anytime.

France have been an absolute rock in this tournament but have also scored no goals from open play, so given that then a Portugal set piece opening the scoring wouldn't be a surprise. Dias is a strong leading CB and I think he's capable of winning plenty in the air, so I am backing him first goal.

I think Germany will focus on set pieces here because they're not going to get a lot of the ball and I think they do hold the physical advantage in this one. I think if there's one area where Germany do hold the advantage here then it is physically and I think they'll be a threat from set pieces as really Morata is the only commanding aerial presence the Spanish have. I think Laimer is a really important player to the way that Austria press and I can see goals happening in this match. He scored a few before his move to Bayern last season from midfield and he did score twice in 6 qualifier matches, so I think playing a bit more advanced then he is worth backing anytime to score here.

I do think Lienhart is worth backing to score in this match because it's fairly even and I can see there being many goals in it for both sides given the styles of play. I think that Portugal showed fragility against Georgia and Slovenia will start similarly in their shape here to make things difficult. I think it's too hard to keep Portugal out when they need a goal but I think Slovenia have been threatening with Sesko whilst they have a great goalkeeper, so I could see a low scoring draw to take this into extra time.

We saw Slovakia get a win against Belgium in similar underdog fashion and with such a disparity between the sides then a Slovakian CB scoring isn't that hard to imagine from a set piece.
