East India Express ran in this race last season and finished seventh. However, he was looking like a winner until the final stages. He is back this year, looks to have been aimed at the race and is ridden by the same jockey as last year.

Thedeviluno has never been out of the first two placings in each of his last six races. This is probably his toughest race so far in his career, but he is trained by a trainer who knows how to get the best of his runners at Cheltenham.

This is Sixandahalf's first ever run in a handicap race and she looks to have been saved for this important Festival race. Her form is strong with a fourth place finish behind Woodhooh last time out. She will need luck in running in this big field, but at last year's Festival she finished second in a big field novice race only beaten by half a length. Here's hoping she can go one place better this year.

Daily Present won this race last season and looks to have been aimed at the contest again. He has raced over hurdles only so far this season maybe in an attempt to protect his handicap mark rising too much. Daily Present is ridden by the winning jockey from last year's race and is trained by a trainer who usually has his stable primed to run their best at the Festival.

C'est Different looks very much to have been aimed at this race. He has won his last four races, all handicaps. He is climbing the weights, but it is interesting that his trainer has waited for this race, probably so his horse's handicap mark will be unchanged. His last two victories have been by an impressive total of fourteen lengths.

Bob Olinger may be an eleven year old now, but he has a tremendous record at the Festival. He has run at three Festivals and has won each time. This includes last year when he won this race on similar ground to today's. His record shows that he has finished in the first two in each of his last eight races.

Trainer Paul Nolan often has his runners ready to run their absolute best at the Festival and his stable are worth watching for with each way bets. There is a very strong favourite in this race, but the favourite's trainer is yet to have a winner at this year's Festival and some of his runners have really disappointed. It is worth opposing the favourite here with an each way bet, despite there only being two places on offer.

The favourite has not won this race for the last seven years. Today's favourite is at short odds and an each way bet is preferred. Echoing Silence's trainer has won this race twice before including last year. He knows what is required for a victory. Echoing Silence is unbeaten this season and hits several of the trends pointing to a winner of this race.

Keep Him Company has done nothing wrong in his short career. Bumper races in Ireland are often competitive and he is unbeaten in his two bumper races in Ireland. In fact, he is the only gelding in the race to have won two bumper races in Ireland this season. Moonverrin has won two, but they were mares only races.

Jazzy Matty has been aimed at Festival races on two previous occasions and has won. He won the Juvenile Handicap Hurdle in 2023 when wearing cheekpieces and then won this race last year when wearing cheekpieces again after a break from wearing them. This season, he has had two runs without cheekpieces and today they are back on as he attempts to repeat last year's victory. His betting odds are shortening and he looks poised to win at the Festival once again.

Captain Guinness has run in this high class race for each of the past three years. He finished second in 2023, won the race in 2024 and last year he kept on for a third place. A place is probably all that can be expected this year, but at the odds he is worth an each way bet.

Ballyadam is eleven years old now and every year he turns up at the Festival and runs well. His record is second, fifth in a field of twenty six, fifth in a field of twenty four, second and third. Those last two runs have been in this particular race. With this remarkable record in Festival races, he must be fancied to run well again.

Romeo Coolio is one of my favourite horses. He has won all four of his races, beating some high class opponents and has shown he has the class to win this competitive race, for example when beating yesterday's Festival winner Kargese in his latest race. He is trying a longer race distance today, but Romeo Coolio's trainer has always said a longer distance will suit.

Ballyfad hits many of the trends for this race and in four races has only been beaten by a short head in total distance. The horse that beat him there disappointed yesterday at the Festival and that is probably why Ballyfad is at bigger odds than I expected. The higher odds mean an each way bet is preferable.
