Very unexposed with only two runs. In his 3L, he beat a horse who was rated 88 who came in third. He is rated 77 here, so he is well in on the form. I like this for the value of a 12/1, definitely an e/w play.

The fav didn't perform too well in a group 3 when favourite for that race. Has to prove he stays 7f and has to carry a penalty for his earlier success. All attention will be on Shinara who is a sister to the classy Charyn. She should have no problem with the trip. Shinara's dam ran once on the AW and won - let's hope for the same for Shinara.

Came 2nd in a 5 runner race. It was a strange race from a tactics perspective as they let the front runner lead, and they all chased him with Zighy closing him down but couldn't catch the leader who had the experience of coming 3rd and 2nd. I think he improves here, and with course form under the belt too, should make a bold bid.

Has the least to prove in the field as most horses are being stepped up in trip, whereas Queen of Steel has won 3 times at 2m. Warren Fentiman takes off 5lb to put her 1lb below her last winning run, which was a mark of 59 (now at 58).

The stats are pointing to this one. Owen Burrows with a 57% strike rate in the last 14 days, Shadwell 36%, and Crowley 17%. I like Jabeur Abdullah's horses, but Buick's record on rides that aren't Godolphin is so poor, and we saw that at Goodwood. I'm purely backing this one based off current statistics.

Steps back up to 2m after a good effort at 1m7f 2 weeks ago. He stuck with the front pair gamely before fading out 1f out. He's been dropped 1lb for that, and I think the step up in trip will suit as he is a former hurdles winner and a three-time winner here. The best form at this course out of all the other horses.

Was beaten at odds on LTO, but with Luke Morris now in the saddle I think he can get the job done. The second fav is the main danger, but I think Angel of Anfield will get it done with a classic Luke Morris drive.

Came back from a short layoff to come third at Wolves. We saw Ruth Carr pull off a very impressive four-timer last week, and this horse drops to a 0-54 for the first time. With the run back under his belt, I can see him coming close. The only worry I have is he has been racing on straight AW tracks (Southwell and Newcastle), and it will be interesting to see how he fares at Lingfield today.

Only 1 win in 23 races over hurdles, but has some consistent form. Has had a break and is dropping back down to the same distance she won at with the same ground conditions on offer. I think she is being overlooked in the market and is a solid 6 places available on Sky Bet. A good E/W play here.

Has won off a mark of 60 at this course, and his most recent win came at this mark (54). Came second in an amateurs race last time out. The step up in trip and back with William Carson was the winning formula on his last win, winning by 3/4 lengths, with the horse in third over 5 lengths behind. It's a competitive-looking race, but I'll stick with Fravanco.

Was sent off as favorite on debut and only came third. With that experience under the belt and racing against a field of mostly newcomers, I think he goes close. Even though their strike rate hasn't been amazing in the last 14 days, the Richard Hughes stable has had a solid couple of months.

Mullins always does well in a bumper. I backed this horse last time out and was very impressed with how he travelled and won the race. Much more to come, and he's the choice of Patrick. I make this my NAP of the day.

Weighted to go well and is 11 lbs better on ratings than Kassaya. Kassaya could well improve, but Celandine has the form of a good show in a Group 3, beaten 2L by a horse who is rated 110. I really fancy his chances here and he should go well.

Came a close 2nd (by a neck) LTO and drops down in grade. Has a 7lb claimer on board this time to get it to a very handy mark. The last run came after 4 months off, so that experience of a close 2nd may be just what he needed to get him back to winning ways.

A veteran with 9 wins on turf. Came 2nd two weeks ago at this venue and has been nudged 3lbs for that. However, Cian Horgan takes off 5lbs, so he's effectively 2lbs lower. Slight worry is his form on good to firm taking him down to a career low mark.

Was trained by Natalia Lupini who is a shrewd trainer and had his first run in England when beaten 3 lengths by French Master (rated 108). Now with Alan King, who tends to do well with these middle/long distance runners and David Egan has an 11% strike rate in the last 14 days. If Alan King can improve this horse even slightly he gets in the picture and can do well at a tricky course like Goodwood.

I tend to back horses at Newcastle with course experience as it is one of the few straight AW tracks. Indefensible looked promising, having to pull out wide and came into contention a furlong out, sticking with the leading bunch. The sixth horse, who was over a length behind, has won since, and the drop down to 6f looks good. A solid E/W play.
