19:30 Hannover 96 v Hertha Berlin

Hannover 96

Hannover ended last season having lost only 9 of 34 games and they have got off to a flyer this season with 4 wins in their first 4 games with an aggregate score of 8-2. Hertha Berlin are without a win in their first 4 games, W0 D2 L2 F1 A4, and although having conceded only 4 goals I think the fact that they have only managed to score 1 goal could give the advantage to the in form home team to take a 5th win of the season at the generous odds of 1.75

Coventry failed to score in their opening game of the season (0-0) but having scored 14 in their next 3 games while conceding 6 I think it could pay to take the odds of 1.67 on Over 2.5 goals in this game when they face a Norwich side who have scored in each of their 4 games while conceding in 3

Yes (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

Looking at the goals records of both teams this season: Coventry failed to score in their opening game of the season (0-0) but scored 14 in their next 3 games while conceding 6 and Norwich have scored in each of their 4 games while conceding in 3, so as I reckon their may beno shortage of goals in this game I’ve gone for a bet on over 2.5 goals, but, I also reckon that as both defences haven’t done the best of jobs in their games to date, it could also pay to take the odds of 1.7 on both teams scoring

Birmingham have taken points from 3 games against teams towards the bottom end of the table with their only defeat coming to 4th placed Leicester (W2 D1 L1 4 A4) Stoke have won 3 of their first 4 games of the season (W3 D0 L1 F8 A3) with their only loss (1-0) coming against 2nd placed West Brom, with wins against 2 bottom end teams and a mid table team So although Birmingham are one of the favourites to win promotion, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stoke come into this game with confidence after their decent start to the season and they could be good for backing to avoid defeat and for me the bet has to be Stoke with with +0.25 goals on the Asian Handicap

15:00 West Brom v Derby

West Brom

Although Derby have a decent scoring record of 7 goals in their first 4 games, they have unfortunately not performed well in defence, having conceded 11 goals, which has resulted in them failing to win a game and they are currently in 21st position having taken only 2pts, so, I think they could be on for another loss today when they have to face a West Brom side who are sitting 2nd in the league and remain unbeaten after 4 games while conceding only 3 goals, W3 D1 L0 F6 A3.
15:00 Wrexham v QPR

Over 2.50

Total Goals

There has been a total of 14 goals scored in Wrexham’s first 4 games of the season with 3 ending in 3 or more scored and one which ended with 2 goals scored QPR’s 4 games have ended with a total of 17 goals scored and although 1 of those game was responsible for 8 of the goals, the other 3 games resulted in both teams scoring in all 3 and 2 of the games ending with 3 or more socred So, with neither team having done well defensively in their start to the season while having shown they are more than capable of hitting the target, I think this has to be an over 2.5 goals bet at odds of 1.91

QPR’s 4 games to date have resulted with a total of 17 goals scored with Wrexham’s 4 having resulted in 14 goals scored and from the total of 8 games played by both teams, 7 ended with both teams having scored, so I think it could pay to back BTTS (1.80) as well as over 2.5 goals (1.91) in this game as at the current odds if only 1 of the bets come in it will limit any loss to only a fraction of the overall outlay

9th placed Falkenberg are on a record of W4 D1 L0 F14 A3, from their games against teams below them, with all 5 games resulting in them scoring a minimum of 2 goals in each game, so although they conceded only 3 goals in thise games, they are facing a 13th placed Utsikten team who are 1 of the higher scoring teams outside of the top 6 with 32 scored in 21 games and as such I think the odds of over 2.5 goals is looking quite generous at odds of 1.73 and is well worth taking

18:00 Sonderjyske v Randers FC

Sonderjyske

These 2 teams are separated by only 3pts after each having played 7 games and I reckon it could be a close game, but at the current odds I think it could pay to take the home sides odds of 2.55 to hopefully just edge this game to take all 3pts. Sonderjyske have conceded 13 goals in their 7 games, as have Randers, so neither have been the too good at stopping opponents so far this season, but, Randers have managed to score only 7 goals in 7 games, whereas Sonderjyske have shown decent scoring form having scored in 6 of their 7 games to date, for a total of 12 goals, with 6 of the goals having been scored in their 3 unbeaten home games to date (W2 D1 L0), so with home advantage today I’ll chance a bet on the home team taking their 3rd home win of the season
17:30 Arminia Bielefeld v Magdeburg

Over 2.50

Total Goals

This has got to be an over 2.5 goals bet for me when we have a Bielefeld team who have scored in each of their 4 games to date, for a total of 9 goals, and conceded in 3 of their 4 games and are facing a Magdeburg team who have conceded 10 goals while putting 7 past their opponents despite losing 3 of their 4 games
17:30 Paderborn v Bochum

Paderborn

Paderborn, who finished 4th last season, are having a slow start to their season with only 1 win from their opening 4 games, W1 D2 L1 F4 A4, but I reckon they should be good for their 2nd win of the season, at decent odds of 2.00, when they are up against a Bochum side who have lost 3 of their 4 games while conceding 8 goals in the 4 games
17:00 Lechia Gdansk v GKS Katowice

Over 2.50

Total Goals

Gdansk’s 7 games this season have not been short of goals, with a total of 32 scored, 12 by Gdansk and 19 by their opponents, so when they are up against a tem who have conceded 15 goals in their 7 games to date, while scoring 10, I reckon if having a bet in this game it should pay to take the 1.57 on 3 or more goals being scored (although I think I will also top up my bet at larger odds if no goal is scored early in the first half)

Running today off only a 1lb higher mark and with his usual 3bs claimer in the saddle, he could justify his favouritism today with a return to the winner enclosure

Odds of 7.00 for Stanage don’t look too bad despite him having not shown the best of form in recent runs. His last 6 outings have been in Class 2 or 3 handicaps with his best performance coming in the first of those runs, when beaten only 1¼ lengths which has resulted in him dropping down to a mark 2lbs below his last win, which was also the last time he ran in a Class 4 handicap (March 2025), so, dropping back into a Class 4 handicap today I reckon if he can overcome the wide draw he should be capable of getting more competitive than his recent runs

With the favourite as short as 2.20 in this 9 runner handicap hurdle, this gives a good opportunity to find a decent priced EW selection and for me this has to be Locked Down Lad at odds of 8.50. He dropped down in grade for his handicap debut 18 days ago and put in an improved performance to finish only a neck behind the winner in a 10 runner, Class 5, 2m4f handicap (Gd) with the 3rd placed another 15 lengths behind (winner won next time out off a mark of 90) Although running off a 4lbs higher mark today, with only 5 runs under rules behind him (and 1 win from his only PTP outing) he could have more to offer today

Although Doncaster have kept clean sheets in 3 of 6 games, I think they could have a job on their hands today to stop Bradford from putting at least one past them. Bradford have scored 10 goals in their first 6 games of the season with 4 of the games having ended with them scoring 2 or more goals, so with Bradford having conceded in 5 of their 6 games I’ll take the odds of 1.83 on both teams scoring in this game

Huddersfield have won 4 of their 6 games this season, winning all 3 home games to date with an aggregate score of 6-0 and they should be good for another home win today (@ 1.53) when they play a Peterborough side who are sitting bottom of the league having taken only 1pt from their opening 6 games. Peterborough have conceded 11 goals this season and have scored only 2 goals (failed to score in 4 of the 6 games), so with Huddersfield having kept 4 clean sheets to date, I reckon as well as backing a home win it is definitely also worth placing a bet on Huddersfield on the AH @ 1.82 with -1 goal as they could come away with a win by a 2 or 3 goal margin
