Birmingham scored in each of their 14 home games this season, with 28 of their 41 goals scored this season having come in those 14 home games, so I think we should be able to rely on Birmingham knocking a goal or 2 past a Leicester defense who have conceded 26 goals in 15 away games and with Leicester having scored in 12 consecutive games before failing to score in a 2-0 defeat last week, I reckon 1.80 could be a price worth taking for this game to end with 3 or more goals

Although unbeaten at home this season (including a 0-0 draw against Arsenal), Sunderland have lost 4 of 6 away games played against teams in the top 10 in which they failed to score in any of the 4 games, W1 D1 L4 F3 A11, so although Arsenal’s league form has faltered of late with only 1 win in 4 games (W1 D2 L1) they have won 9 of 12 home games to date, while scoring 28 and conceding only 8, and after a 4-0 away win at Leeds in their latest game I expect we could see them take a win by a 2 or 3 goal margin here and odds of 2.00 with -1.75 goals on the AH looks well worth taking

West Ham have won only 5 of 25 games this season and only 2 of the last 13 games and although those 2 wins came in their last 3 games, there is no way I could back a team at the short odds of 2.25 to take what would be only their 3rd away win of the season. Burnley have won only 3 of their 24 games this season, but they have drawn 5 of their last 8 games (3 of last 4 home games ended in draws), so despite the lack of wins it shouldn’t be beyond their capabilities to take at least another home draw and it could pay to cover the win/draw with a bet at 2.00 on Burnley on the AH with +0.25 goals

Fulham are on a record of W7 D2 L1 from their home games against teams outside of the top 2 in the league and are on a run of only 2 losses in their last 9 games, W5 D2 L2 F14 A11, but with all 5 wins having come to only a 1 goal margin, I think this could be a closely fought game when they face an Everton side who although having taken only 2 wins in their last 7 games, have taken points from 11 of their last 15 games, so, although I initially was thinking a home win could be on the cards here, I’m now thinking that maybe Everton can take something from this game and could be worth backing on the AH @ 2.05 with + 0.25 goals

4th placed Ipswich may have lost only 2 of their last 12 games, W7 D3 L2 F20 A10, but they have a low win/game ratio against the top 10 teams, having a record of W4 D6 L2, so I think they could have a tough task on their hands when facing an in from 7th placed Derby team. Derby are on a run of 2 losses in 11 games, W5 D4 L2, having taken points from 4 of the 5 games that were played against current top 10 teams, so although they are facing an in form Ipswich team, they should not be without a chance of taking at least a draw and as such have to be backed on the AH @ 1.80 with +0.50 goals

Burton’s last 5 game record of W1 D1 L3 doesn’t look too bad on closer inspection, having drawn with the league leaders, beaten the 6th placed team and lost only to a 1 goal margin against the 2nd & 3rd placed teams, so, facing a Port Vale team who are rooted at the foot of the table and have lost 6 of their last 8 games, while failing to score in 5 of the games, I reckon Burton have got to be backed on the AH @ 1.80 with +0.25 goals as I cannot see them leaving empty handed

12:31 Southampton v Watford

Southampton

8th placed Watford are on a run of 5 games without a win, W0 D3 L2 F2 A6, with 3 of the games, although having been played against 3 of the bottom 9 teams, so although they are 6 places above Southampton, these 2 teams are separated by only 4pts and with Southampton having a decent home record of W6 D5 L3 they could be worth backing at 1.91 to take another home win today having shown a return to form in their last 3 games (W2 D1 L0) after a run of 7 games from which they took only 3pts

12:30 Man Utd v Tottenham

Man Utd

2 teams heading in opposite directions in the league, Man Utd up to 4th after a run of only 1 loss in 12 games, W6 D5 L1 F25 A17, and Spurs sitting in 14th after a run that has seen them win only 2 of their last 12 games, W2 D5 L5 F15 A19. The only thing Spurs have going for them is that they came back from 2-0 down to take a 2-2 draw with Man City in their latest game, but apart from that their recent games wouldn’t give me enough confidence to back them to take anything from this game and considering Man Utd’s recent run of form, I think their odds of 1.65 are looking generous and could be worth backing with an increased stake

Yes (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

Although having won only 2 of their last 12 games, Charlton still managed to score in 10 of the 12 games, plus, they have failed to score in only 1 of 13 home games, so they must be looking good for at least 1 goal tonight. QPR failed to score in their last 2 away games, but, having followed up with a total of 4 goals scored in their next 2 games (played at home) and having scored in 11 of their 15 away games, I’ll chance that they can put 1 past a Charlton side who have conceded in 4 of their last 6 home games and 7 of their last 10 games (H&A)
20:00 Leeds v Nottm Forest

Draw

16th placed Leeds were beaten 3-1 by today’s opponents in November, but since then following 2 further defeats, Leeds have gone on to lose only 2 of 11 games, W3 D6 L2 F18 A17, and in their home games this season, they have lost only 1 of 10 games played against teams outside of the top 3. 17th placed Forest have lost only 1 of 8 games played against teams below 13th, W4 D3 L1 F12 A8, and are on a run of 4 games without a loss, W2 D2 L0 F5 A2 The fact the Leeds have failed to score in only 2 of their last 14 games could give them a slight edge today, but their odds of 2.25 look too short for a team who have won only 3 of their last 11 games so as I don’t fancy Forest to take all 3pts I reckon I will have to take the draw @ 3.40
19:45 Metz v Lille

Lille

Although 5th placed Lille have lost their last 4 games, these were games played against 4 of the current top 7, so having a record of W7 D1 L1 from their games against bottom half teams, they should be more than capable of bouncing back with a win when playing a Metz side who sit bottom of the league having lost 14 of 20 games and are on a record of W1 D0 L9 F8 A28, which includes a 6-1 loss to today’s opponents in October last year

Although Brentford have won 2 of their last 3 away games, overall this season they have not done well on their travels, losing 8 of 11 away games to date. Villa have already secured a top 8 finish in the Europa League, so they can afford to rest players for Thursday’s European game and should be fresh and at full strength for their game against Brentford on Sunday and should be too strong on home ground, so should keep the pressure on the 2 teams above them in the PL with a home win @ 1.95

Although Burton have lost 4 of their last 5 games and sit 17 places below Bolton, I think there could be some value in Burton’s odds on the Asian Handicap. For a team at the bottom end of the table, Burton have a decent record of W4 D1 L3 F11 A7 from their games against top 7 teams, and in their penultimate game they came a way with a 3-1 win over 6th placed Huddersfield while the lost only by a 1 goal margin to 2nd placed Lincoln in their latest game. 3rd placed Bolton are on a record of W12 D10 L6, but of those 26 games only 4 were won by a margin greater than 1 goal, so as they have also scored only 5 goals in their last 7 games (winning only 2 of the 7), I reckon as long as Burton don’t conceded an early goal there has to be a good chance they could give a return if backing them with +1.25 goals on the AH @ 1.80

Over the last 10 matches, Port Vale have taken points in only 3 of 10, while Wimbledon have managed 5 of 10. Port Vale’s recent 5??"1 home win looks like a complete outlier ??" across the other 14 matches in that 15??'game spell, they scored a combined total of just 3 goals. Wimbledon, meanwhile, have scored in 11 of their 13 games against bottom??'half opposition, which gives them a realistic chance of avoiding defeat here. 14:00 Brentford v Nottm Forest

Brentford

Forest have scored only 9 goals in 11 away games this season, that resulted in W3 D2 L6, and they have taken points from only 4 of 15 games from games against teams above 14th. Only the teams filling the top 3 in the league have better home records than Brentford’s W7 D3 L1 F21 A10, and I think with 8th placed Brentford on an unbeaten run of 7 home wins (W5 D2 L0), they could be worth a decent bet at 1.91 to take another home win today against a Forest side who could be feeling the pressure after West Ham took a win yesterday to put them only 2pts behind Forest
14:00 Crystal Palace v Chelsea

Chelsea

Things aren’t looking good at Palace, both on and off the pitch, and a run of 7 games without a win and taking only 2pts (W0 D2 L5 F3 A13) has seen them drop to within 8pts of the relegation zone and it could be a case of things may get worse before they get better, so although Chelsea have won only 2 of their last 10 games, W2 D5 L3 F13 A13, they come into this game following a narrow 1-0 win in their midweek Champions League game and have lost only 1 of 9 League games against teams in the bottom 8, W5 D3 L1 F17 A6, so I’ll go for them to do enough to take their 5th away win of the season
14:00 Newcastle v Aston Villa

Newcastle

After 8 consecutive wins in the league, Villa’s form has taken a slight dip having taken only 4pts from their last 4 games, W1 D1 L2 F4 A6. Newcastle continue to be a difficult team to beat on home ground, coming into this game with a record of W7 D2 L2 in the PL and came away with a 3-0 home win in their midweek CL game 4 days ago, so with home advantage today and facing a faltering Villa side, I’ll go for the Newcastle home win @ 2.05 despite their ongoing defensive injuries

12:30 Elversberg v Bochum

Elversberg

Bochum have lost only 1 of their last 10 games, W5 D4 L1 F18 A10, but they have struggled on the road against teams in the top half of the league, with their 6 away games to date against the top half teams having resulted in W0 D1 L5 F5 A12, so facing a 3rd placed Elversberg side today who remain unbeaten at home this season with a record of W5 D3 L0 F15 A5, in which they kept clean sheets in 5 of the 8 games, my money will be on Elversberg @ 1.95 to take their 6th home win of the season

Although Southampton’s form took a dive towards the end of last year resulting in W0 D3 L4 F5 A12, they still managed to score in 5 of the 7 games and the 2 they didn’t score in have been the only 2 games without a goal from them in their last 15 games, so having also scored in the latest game 4 days ago, I think we could see a goal or 2 from them today. Portsmouth have failed to score in 9 of their 26 games this season, but they have shown better form in front of goal in recent games having scored in 6 of their last 7 games, scoring a total of 8 goals, so against a Southampton side who conceded in each of their 14 away games this season and also in 8 of their last 11 games, I reckon there is a good chance they too could be good for at least 1 goal. I was leaning towards a draw (1-1) for this game, but with a chance either team could maybe nick the win I think I will play safe and go for Both teams to score at 1.75
