Morocco have slowly been rising up the FIFA Ratings in recent years (having a rating close to Brazil’s), but although they are unbeaten in 25 games played in 2025 & 2026, only a couple of those games were against teams at the top end of the FIFA Rankings, so, with Brazil having performed well in recent (friendly) games against teams above 50 in the FIFA Rankings and with their only loss in 6 games having been a 2-1 defeat to France, I will take them to do enough to just edge this game

Qatar have won only 2 of the 12 games played during 2025 & 2026, W2 D3 L7 F8 A19, and as they sit well below Switzerland in the FIFA Rankings I reckon this should be a routine win for Switzerland in their opening game of the tournament, coming into this game with an unbeaten record in the qualifying round, W4 D2 L0 F14 A2.
Switzerland are as short as 1.29 to win the game, but as I reckon they could be on for a 2 or 3 goal winning margin, backing them on the AH with -1.75 @ 1.90 could be the bet to go for

I think this game could be a lot closer than the betting suggests and despite Canada having lost only 1 of 12 games played in 2025 & 2026, they have taken only 2 wins in their last 8 games so with Bosnia having drawn 1-1 (in 90 minutes, then winning on penalties) against Wales and Italy in the World Cup Qualification Play-offs, I think I could get a good run for my money having a few quid on Bosnia on the AH with +0.75 goals @ 1.80

Resumed racing at the end of May after a near 7 months break, leaving her old form behind to take a comfortable 7 lengths win in a 10 runner, Class 5, 2m7f handicap (Gd) and she showed this was no fluke by following up with another comfortable win 7 days later, running off a 7lbs higher mark and dropping down to 2m4f. I was on the runner up that day and watching her cross the line I thought this has to be runner to keep an eye on, so another 8 days later I will have to take the odds of 3.75 despite running off a 7bs higher mark and stepping back up in distance to 2m7f

Both of these teams have been winning games (2026 & back end of 2025) when facing teams below them in the FIFA Rankings, so although S. Korea are 17 places above and 50pts ahead of their opponents, I think I will give the match result a miss in what I reckon could be a very close game, but with both teams having shown decent goal scoring form in their recent games I could be tempted to take both teams to score at 2.00

South Africa have played only games in 2026, W0 D1 L2 F3 A5, and although they scored in all 3 of their games, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them blank today against a Mexico side who have shown good defensive form this year
So, with Mexico also sitting 52 places above South Africa in the FIFA rankings, I can see Mexico getting off to a winning start and 1.44 looks a price worth taking to, hopefully, get my World cup betting off to a profitable start

Showed good chase form when racing in France, 7 wins from 26 chase runs
Won on the 2nd time of asking after moving to the UK, taking an 18 lengths win in a 7 runner, Class 4, 3m handicap chase (Gd)
Despite a 10lbs rise in the weights and a step up in grade, I reckon if running near to the level of his French form then the race is there for his taking
