For this lad, the ground is the concern as his successes have come on slower ground, but his failings on quicker have also come without Oisin in the saddle. A front runner, and he will need to be from stall 11. He needs the unopposed lead that he should get on paper and to get over as much as he can. Small stake.

Made a winning seasonal return at Epsom this time last season before being put into deeper races over the next 3 starts where he ran well enough but was outclassed. This was followed by an AW debut where he finished a running third before struggling in the mud at Epsom in the autumn. The yard is in good form with their seasonal returners, and the trainer and jockey have a 34% and 21% strike rate here respectively over the last 12 months. Well drawn too, every chance.

Competitive race this, but many of the other competitors are either beyond the limits of their mark or the profile of their best runs doesn't match today's situation. This horse has won 2 from 5 going right-handed, is back to his last winning mark today, a winner on this ground and over this trip, and Hughes has ridden him to his 3 career wins. The McCain yard is in better form than they have been for most of this season, and I would be surprised if we can't at least take a place.

She will enjoy the ground today and has done well at similar tracks in the past. He has not run that well in his last couple of outings, but a young conditional who has had a couple of winners in the last month comes on and takes 10 lb off. The yard is in good form with a winner here yesterday, and in a mediocre race, he could have a chance.

This lad is 3lb worse off than when he returned with a win at Fontwell last time out, but that was from a 4-month break. He has won twice previously under this today's turnaround. Chadwick may be challenged by Beau Morgan for the lead, but he usually finds a way to beat himself anyway. Coming on from that last win, the circumstances of the race are in place for Hecouldbetheone.

Never particularly attractive to back the favorite, but this lad has a great chance today. His best runs on the flat have been over this trip, and the trainer continues to impress. The jockey has a good strike rate of 20% here, and whilst Thirsk is a new track for him, he has won on this type of ground over this trip at HQ. Well drawn to come from the back, there is little to oppose him with unless Letsbefrank produces a career best.

Chance taken here as this lad has not had a good winter, but he has never won on the all-weather, with his best form coming on today's quick ground. His 2 career wins have come over this trip, and he is well drawn. The yard's form is impossible to distinguish as few runners and all a bit of a mess with horses being sent to France, etc., but Silvestre is solid with a 20% hit rate here. In a poor race, this lad is my option and worth taking the BOG if available to you as he will drift.

Cracking race this with a case to be made for most of them, but this lad could be a group horse in the handicap (although weighted accordingly). A winner here in the past, and the trainer and jockey have done well here for years. He needs to be faultless, having thrown away his chance at the festival with a bad error 2 out, but if he is, he should have too much for these. Full disclosure - I am also backing Teddy Blue in this race, who also needs a better round of jumping than last time out but is off a belting low weight. He won here for the Moores over hurdles, and the yard and jockey are electric currently.

A good race on a cracking card here tomorrow and a number who I have noted this season run in this race. But as last year's runner-up in the Sussex Champion Hurdle and with the best course form on the card, this lad is where I land. His best days have come on good ground and his first run after a break at Bangor was encouraging with the form working out well. Would hope for a drift to 8s by my tissue but every chance EW.

This will be a career best for this lad if he pulls this off tomorrow, but there is plenty in his favor. He should get a clear, uncontested lead, and Murray Dodd has ridden him to 2 wins from 5 rides on board. He responds well to good ground, and the layoff from his last run is at the right pitch for his best results. The trainer has done well here over the years, and if the horse can be turned in with two to go with enough in the tank, Greatness really could await.

A competitive race to close the card with most of the field holding some interest. But this lad found his form again at Warwick last time out, and if the blinkers can do the trick again under a featherweight from Saunders' claim, then he should have every chance.

This lad showed that the fire still flickers, at least last time out at Wetherby, and has a chance here off a feather bottom weight under a good conditional. With his yard in good form and with a good long-term record here, he has better form than the field on the forecasted ground, and the circumstances of the run are right for him.

Has steadily progressed since joining this yard and after 16 months out, belying his years. He won well at Market Rasen over this trip in a class 5 under top weight and lost nothing in defeat last time out at Carlisle. The yard is in rude health, although this will be the trainer's first win here in at least 5 years, and the jockey booking is a blessing. I would be happier each way, and at 7s or so, the conditions and circumstances of the race are in his favor.

There is not a lot of depth to this, and I would be keen to take the inconsistent favorite on. The selection is a C&D winner and will welcome the rain they have had down there this week. He hasn't really fired since joining this yard, but the positive runs he has had have been with give in the ground. The small yard is in good enough form with a good record here and when teaming up with the claimer, who is not as bad as some. Would hope for a place at least.

This horse has a cracking record of 7 wins from 10 starts on good ground and hasn't had that ground for 2 years now. Obviously the softer ground in recent runs is not the only thing that has been beating him, but there is enough here to make him the selection. He has won his only start after this length of break, the race is set up to suit a hold up horse such as him, the trainers and brother in the saddle have done well here over the last 12 months, and he won his only career start here in this race 3 years ago. A small stakes play.

A five-time winner here, he showed that the fire still burns on turf here on Sunday and has won 3 of his 10 races in a turnaround of 7 days or less. The yard is in better form than results suggest, with their PRB over the last month higher than their annual average, and Jason Hart has a good long-term record here. The Haggas NR has shortened the market, but the true price would be 6/7s.

A small play here as this lad still has plenty of questions to answer on handicap debut, but he won a novice well last time out at Southwell with the runner-up subsequently winning. He has a nice draw for his run style, and whilst Hills hasn't had a winner here in the last year, his record in the long term here is good.

A large chance is taken here given this mare's antics in the straight at Sedgefield. But when pushed by Bass, she knuckled down and went away from the pursuers again. In her run before, she ran on at Exeter, finishing 2 lengths down to a horse rated 114. She starts here off a mark 14lbs below that and thus has a chance. The favourite is short for a horse carrying 8lbs more than in their last hurdle win, and Neigh Botha comes back to this from chasing and 5lb higher than his last win. Small stake.

There is an awful lot of cannon fodder from Mullins in this, but the main competition may well be Dysart Enos. A sizeable risk is taken with this lad having let me down last time out over 3 miles, and returning to the scene of his career win, but one that was gained in slightly comical circumstances. He jumped markedly right over the second half of that run but still dominated off the front, and enjoyed the good ground that he will get today. Today's race is over slightly shorter and whilst there may be a bit of pressure for the lead, Noonan can be more exuberant and push him on. The trainer is also respected and in good form. He opened at 8s, which is a fairer price.

This is a mediocre race, and the selection can take this on debut for Dan Skelton. He has a cracking record over the last 3 years for horses having their first start, having moved to him from another yard, and the Megsons won't have purchased this lass for nothing.

This is an open affair, but the selection is an exciting entry. He ran an eye-catching race in the Fred Winter and drops in class here whilst getting the 4YO allowance, with the jockey taking a further 5 lbs off for good measure. Lacey is one of the more reliable trainers and had winners last week at Aintree. I don't know if Ben Sutton will ever ride out the claim, but he has won on this lad here previously, and a small bet is worth a go.

This lad returned from a break to win over C&D last May and then raced with credit in his next three races on two occasions in a higher class. He then struggled over a longer trip before perhaps being over the top last time out. Trainer and jockey both have a fine record here and a 20% strike rate when teaming up, and there is enough here to make this lad a bet for me.
