Tommy Paul is always very consistent in these tournaments. He won the previous match against Fokina comfortably and anticipated the end due to the Spaniard's injury. For me, a positive handicap could help him, remembering that Alcaraz doesn't excel on this terrain.

It's unlikely the match between these two teams will be as goal-rich as the first half. The visitors will almost certainly dominate the match. On the road, they are extremely pragmatic and sometimes even have serious problems scoring. In eight away games, Vitória has scored only four goals and conceded nine, with a total average of 1.6 goals.

Zwolle have never left the pitch without scoring in their last 11 league matches. NEC have failed to score only once in the entire Eredivisie season. However, the home team holds a 47:25 goal-to-goal advantage. Both teams are unreliable defensively. Zwolle have conceded 40 league goals; only NAC have conceded more. NEC have conceded 32, easily the worst result among the top five teams in the table before matchday 20.

Bournemouth are going through a tough time. The departure of key players, a forced mid-season defensive overhaul, and a slew of injuries have severely impacted the Cherries' prospects. The current Bournemouth only distinguishes itself from the underdogs with a more potent attack, and even then, it's unclear how the club will perform after Semenyo's departure. Will Liverpool's latest setback be a surprise? No. However, this time we'll have our faith in the Merseyside players, who have clearly outlived their target. The Cherries are the Reds' clients: six defeats in six head-to-head matches with an aggregate score of 4??"18.

The hosts are in the thick of the promotion playoff race. They have 12 wins and only five clean sheets in 25 league games. They've lost only once at home but have eight wins. The away team is faring significantly worse. They've won only eight of 26 games, conceding 10, and they're not always able to add to their away tally. Interestingly, the two teams have drawn four games in a row, but we believe this streak will end.

Manchester City must respond appropriately to defeats in the derby and the Champions League. Wolves are a good target to vent their anger. Yes, Wolves have recovered, but they haven't completely lost their underdog status. The Citizens remain a formidable force at the Etihad. Bottom-placed Exeter conceded 10 goals (10-1). Even much more prestigious teams like Liverpool (3-0), Borussia Dortmund (4-1), Manchester United (3-0), and Napoli (2-0) have achieved impressive victories. Finally, it's worth remembering that Wolves have historically been a very comfortable opponent for Guardiola's team, with 10 wins in 11 matches, including a 4-0 victory in the first half of this season.

The visitors will find their chances to score. The Citizens' personnel problems haven't disappeared. Marc Guéhi is unlikely to solve all the team's problems immediately. Manchester City have conceded in five of their last six games, while Wolverhampton have scored in five of their last six. To be safe, I'll take the over, since City could also be considered capable of scoring at least three goals on their own against the bottom club.

Head-to-head matches between the two clubs have never disappointed in terms of goals scored. In fact, at least four goals have been scored in 10 consecutive head-to-head matches. The current situation also favors a similar result. Selekhmeteva can already nail this Australian Open. She defeated the combative German Seidel (6:3, 3:6, 6:0) and also faced the injury-ridden Badosa (6:4, 6:4). However, earlier in the season, Oksana lost to Preston (6:7, 3:6) and Linett (3:6, 6:1, 1:6). Pegula played her first two matches in Melbourne at an incredible level. Her performance against world No. 37 Kessler was particularly impressive: 6:0, 6:2. Jess completed 18 winners, including seven unforced. I fear Oksana will not be able to maintain her positive handicap game.

In some ways, it was a stroke of luck that Khachanov overcame the tough Mickelsen early in the tournament. The Russian started early, so he didn't have to wait long to warm up against Bassavareddy (6:1, 6:4, 6:3). The talented American looks preferable on the blue court to Darderi. The Italian was fortunate in the draw in Melbourne, defeating Garin (7:6, 7:5, 7:6) and the weakened Báez (6:3, 1:6, 6:4, 6:3). Luciano won't be tested against a tough opponent on hard courts. Karen looks more reliable from the baseline, but he won't be inferior in power.

Mirra is currently in excellent shape, both physically and mentally. The Russian's on-court demeanor shows she feels powerful, which means she's ready for great things. In her match against Sakkari (6-0, 6-4), Andreeva was patient and aggressive. One would expect her to play at the same level against Ruse. The Romanian has already defeated Yastremska and Tomljanovic in Melbourne, so she's a force to be reckoned with. However, we believe Elena Gabriela has virtually no chance of success. In their two meetings on Australian courts, she committed over 50 unforced errors. Mirra's total is significantly lower (38 errors).
08:00 Elina Svitolina vs Diana Shnaider

Elina Svitolina -3.50

Win

Svitolina will be very convincing in 2026, having defeated, among others, the very strong Jovi? (7:6, 6:2) and Sinha (6:3, 7:6) in Auckland. In Melbourne, she achieved easy victories against Bucha (6:4, 6:1) and Klimovíková (7:5, 6:1). She had an advantage in active points and errors (45:41), and dropped only two serves. Shnaider is having difficulty moving at the net, having played the deciding set against Krej?íková (2:6, 6:3, 6:3) and Gibson (3:6, 7:5, 6:3). In her last match, she saved three match points. She already has enough failures against less dangerous opponents, so with this type of tennis it will be extremely difficult against the consistent and experienced Elina.

Cerundolo easily defeated Zhang and Dzumhur without dropping a single set. However, it's important to understand that such opposition isn't particularly significant. Since the 2025 US Open, the Argentine has had very poor results in official hard-court tournaments, with early losses to Riedi, Thiem, Bergs, and Munar. Rublev continues to improve in Melbourne, defeating Arnaldi and Faria without apparent trouble. It's important to note that he had a solid advantage in both matches, both in driven and unforced shots (79:52). When Andrey plays this style of tennis, overcoming the inevitable mistakes with activity, he can beat almost any opponent.

The Spaniard managed to complicate his life at the Australian Open with a match against Opelka, which he could easily have lost (6:3, 7:6, 5:7, 4:6, 6:4). Alejandro wasn't as good with his signature forehand and, in many cases, relied too much on being the last one in the rally. At the start of the fifth set, both players looked exhausted, and the errors piled up. But while Davidovich Fokina's accuracy simply dropped, Reilly stopped running altogether. In our opinion, this match really tested the Spaniard's stamina.

Potapova continues to impress in Melbourne. In the first round, she staged a comeback against Lammens, recovering from 3-6, 1-5 down. Then, against Raducanu, the world No. 55 seed shone even brighter. Despite losing to the British player in terms of pace, she always found an opportunity at the right time (7-6, 6-2). But against Sabalenka, her chances are practically nil. Potapova often loses to top players; for example, the Russian suffered two defeats against ?wi?tek at Roland Garros in 2024. Medvedev, driven by his character, reached the third round of the Grand Slam, defeating Gali in four sets (6??"7, 6??"3, 6??"4, 6??"2). However, the match proved extremely difficult. At the start of the second hour, the Russian was down a set and a break in the second set, but still managed to find the keys to victory. It's worth noting that the initial defeat was due more to the Frenchman's excellent play than to any miscalculations on the part of the Russian No. 1. Another important point to consider ahead of the next match is that Daniil's greatest difficulties stem from excessive passivity. Marozsan could also be punished for this. Fabian serves well and is adept at creating incisive plays, which could pay dividends against the always-inconsistent Medvedev.

Tien is once again showing great form at the Australian Open, and his physical condition is particularly strong. Nine sets in two matches had virtually no impact on his game, and he was able to destroy Shevchenko in the second half (6:2, 6:7, 6:1, 6:0). In the first half, Tien really showed his best. He chased Alexander all over the court, constantly changing his attack pattern and skillfully exploiting his left-handed advantage. Now, against an American like Borges, there's only one way out: break Tien with power. As long as he's in control, he can do whatever he wants on the court. The problem with the current Borges is that he's used to playing second fiddle, and in the next match that means he'll struggle on the baseline.
