Hi I target the biggest horse races of the week (both codes) using historical trends, comparing the stats of previous winners and narrowing the field finding the value bet. I also use my own personal notes and information from my tracker as I stat-profile thoroughbreds throughout the week for my own personal enjoyment. I recommend a 40 point betting bank, simple 1 point win bets or 0.5 point e/w bets and I try and get the earliest possible price on BOG often placing my bets at 8am in the morning or 2 days earlier if I want to grab the price. My process is a patient bank building method that builds profit steadily over the year and not to mention the fun involved. These are the biggest races of the week and provide hours of entertainment on a race day. I stake sensibly, all my tips are 1 point win or 0.5 point e/w bets. I’m not a high roller, I’m a family man who enjoys betting on racing and spend any extra cash I make on my young family although I do spend a lot of time and effort doing this and take my betting very seriously. Filly changed hands last month and her trip drops by 2 furlongs and looking at her previous form that's a plus. She finished in the top 4 every time she's ran on good ground. She's worth an e/w wager looking at her previous race at Newmarket where she lost the race in the final furlong so the drop in trip isn't a negative.

The selection has only run once since winning this last May, but the absence needn't be a concern as that was 20 days ago in the Mooresbridge Stakes, beaten by a neck by today's primary threat, Los Angeles. The Gold Cup has seen 3 winners come back and win the race again in the last 14 years, and I expect White Birch to make it a fourth as he's obviously been targeted for this race after being campaigned very lightly.

Another filly who's shortened in the betting for a trainer who's won 2 of the last 4 renewals of this race. She's lightly raced and ran an encouraging 2nd last time out in the Memorial Stakes. It would be no surprise to see her run well again here under a jockey who won this in 2017.

The filly's price has unsurprisingly shortened dramatically since they opened, with a jockey on board who's won the last 4 runnings of this race. She impressed by winning the Express Stakes 43 days ago, and 2 of the last 9 winners of this have finished in the top 2 of that one.

Shortlisted alongside Silver Knott, I selected Liberty Lane due to Silver Knott being top weight. Although top weights have won this contest previously, they don't win often. The selection ran well in the Huxley Stakes last time out, and that has been proven to be a good prep race to land this prize. Trainer Karl Burke has 2 entries today, both listed races, and regular jockey Clifford Lee rides this one.

Hughie Morrison's filly doesn't have the best draw in stall 10, but I had her shortlisted alongside Beset, who's also badly drawn in stall 9 but priced far shorter. The selection doesn't look too badly handicapped on turf and only went up 5 lbs for her 2 3/4 length win at Newmarket 2 starts ago. She's got her preferred ground, and the 25/1 is far too big to ignore.

Karl Burke's filly is currently a huge price. She's placed at listed level under a year ago and finished her last race really well. Previous winners have run in a handicap LTO, and she can't be discounted on her preferred ground.

His time off the track could be a minor concern, but the trainer does target this race, and both previous wins have been on good ground. I backed him each way at SP with the bookie offering 4 places, so he could be really good value if the trainer's got him ready to fire despite apprentice Scott McCullagh being on board.

Not many winners of this race have run twice this season, but that's the only trend that goes against the selection. Big-priced runners have won this contest regularly, and so have runners who ran at Sandown last time out. So this filly can't be ruled out at a huge price.
