Canada has put over 200 on the board in their last two matches. Despite winning their last two games, I think it will take a lot for Bermuda to stop them.

Opening rounds in the 60s in four of Emiliano Grillo's last five events. With form like that, he seems decent odds to start well again in Canada this weekend.

Sam Ryder has shot rounds in the 60s in his last four events. Based on that form, I'm backing the American to start well again in the Canadian Open this weekend.

Chennai Super Kings

This is a toss-up between the big two franchises for me, Chennai or Mumbai. The Sunrisers, who blew everyone away on the way to the final last year, are marked as the bookies' favorite, but I think their plan on all-out batting firepower could backfire. Mohammad Shami leads the bowling attack, but I don't believe he is at 100% just yet, and even with him, the attack looks a bowler light. The reuniting of Bumrah and Boult at Mumbai nearly pushed me towards them, but I have decided to plug with Chennai. The five-time champions have put their eggs in the spin basket this season with Ashwin, Jadeja, and Noor Ahmed, and if Pathirana can stay fit, this looks like a frightening unit. Kiwi Ravindra is also on a hot streak, as was Shivam Dube just a few months back. Backing the boys in yellow to add another trophy to the mantelpiece this year.

Punjab Kings

Outright Winner

25 EW

@12.00

112

This is obviously a risk seeing as the Punjab Kings haven't made the playoffs since 2014, but this is a very fresh side who shouldn't really have any of the traumas of the past. Arshdeep Singh still leads the attack, but apart from that, Prabhsimran Singh is the only other really recognized player at the top of the order. New captain Shreyas Iyer and Glenn Maxwell's resumes speak for themselves, but I think it is actually the acquisition of Yuzvendra Chahal that will have the most impact. The leggie is always there or thereabouts when it comes to the race for the purple cap, and whereas runs win matches, wickets win tournaments. I'll finish with their international depth with both Josh Inglis and Lockie Ferguson being proven in the subcontinent and Marco Jansen, who had a great season last year for the Sunrisers. I was surprised not to see him retained.

It would be asking a lot based off recent form, but Canadian Adam Hadwin led the Memorial Tournament by a shot to Scottie Scheffler after round one at last year's Memorial Tournament. At 125/1, I'm backing him to start well again.

Collin Morikawa

Colin Morikawa has been in the leading pack after day 1 in two of the last five Memorial Tournaments. Wouldn't be surprised to see him there or thereabouts after round 1 again this week.

Scottie Scheffler is someone who loves this course, starting with a 67 last year and a 67 in 2021. No reason he can't start strong again on Thursday.

Backing Nottinghamshire here today who look to go back to back after making light work of Warwickshire's 226 last evening. Lancashire did get a win in their opener as well but it wasn't as convincing and they are missing the leader of their pace attack today in the form of Luke Wood.

Keaton Jennings looked in fabulous touch in Lancashire's opening game with the skipper hitting 66 runs off of 38 balls. If he can get past Nottingham's openers, there should be runs on offer for him today.

Joe Clarke came out looking excellent for his side yesterday, bludgeoning a quick 58 off 23 balls. I think he could get tucked into this Lancashire team tonight, whose bowling unit arguably looks a touch depleted.
