Somewhat confused at why my selection is such long odds. Question marks over a few of these. He likes the course and the drying ground will aid. He stumbled when landing at the final fence and would have kept third place. Drops back in distance today. Races prominently and no surprise to see him lead and not get headed.

Is a fascinating runner in a competitive race. Won here last race when Lau and Shaz fell when travelling well. This horse upset Charisma Cat (1-6 on) on her previous run. So her odds seem very generous and worth an each-way bet, and hopefully she can surprise.

They Want Me makes plenty of appeal in the first race at Kelso. A course-and-distance winner, he ran a cracking first run of the season against a very smart hurdler now rated 141. I can see him upsetting the favourite.

This doesn't look a strong maiden hurdle. My selection was 14s earlier this morning but has been backed into 5s very quickly. Should have promised in his first run in a NHF; he was favourite and disappointed in his next run. He didn't shine much in his first attempt over hurdles, but has been backed, so with that support I feel he is worth a bet.

The owner/trainer combination have their third runner of the day here. Joe Tizzard wrote with a lot of enthusiasm about my selection last year. He has run in three very competitive hurdle races and now runs in his first handicap. At this level, I can see him running a very good race at good odds.

Scarface is an experienced chaser and has run a couple of cracking races this winter. He drops in grade and the last time he ran at this level he won. Joe Tizzard's horses are running well after a quiet spell.

I fancied Cast's Tasha last time up, so much so it was my NAP. She ran disappointingly, but I always forgive a poor run. She drops back in distance, is 2-2 at the course, and will like the testing ground, so I am napping again.

Ballynorth was travelling nicely when stumbling and falling on landing at Warwick. Katie's Melody was favourite that day, finishing 5th. It would not be a surprise to see him beat her, and you never surprise the two hotshots at big odds in this race.

Good for you. Looks an interesting runner in the opening race. Lightly raced, he showed ability in stronger contests at Wincanton last time out, staying on. The trainer has a good record with hurdlers here. In the last five seasons she has had seven winners from 33 runs, with four seconds and six thirds. No surprise to see him run really well.

A competitive and fascinating last race. Joe Tizzard really likes Kriptic Jim and was impressed with his last win under a penalty. His odds seem far too long. The yard hit form again yesterday with a double. His form looks solid, so a big run can be expected.
