The second from my MTF notes in this race, Diligently is selected to hit the frame. Was a good second behind the in-form Hammer The Hammer on seasonal debut but didn’t make any impact next time out, being eased from 2f out. Got badly hampered at Chester on last run and once again was eased right down. The booking of Hector Crouch looks significant with his last forty ride stats of five wins and twelve places.

Beaten favourite in his last three outings and racing off the same mark as the last two it will be interesting to see how he goes following the long break and with the in-form P J McDonald aboard for his first ride.

Havana Pusey has shown much improved performance this season with two wins and two places from nine. The mare wasn't too far away when an eased ninth at Goodwood last time out and ran a very good second at Newmarket on her penultimate start. I would've gone each-way, but there's an outsider who catches my eye for that.

Wolf Of Badenoch looked to have a good future ahead of him when an eye-catching second in a Group 2 on second start as a 2-y-o but has struggled somewhat since. Saying that though, he wasn't unduly pushed in his last two runs once his chances had gone and he appears to be on a handy mark with claimer Liam Wright taking off 5lb on this second handicap attempt.

Made U Blush caught my eye two runs ago at Cork when a staying on fifth of sixteen. She was a well held second on last outing for W McCreery in Ireland when last seen. New trainer Jonathon Portman is having his best ever season so far with 30 winners (17%) and 75 places (43%) from 176 runs.
