Proof's last race is best described as scratched, as he met trouble on the turn and lost momentum at Chester nine days ago. He could only get going late and wasn't unduly pushed. He had progressed nicely in all of his races before then. Interestingly, both trainer and jockey are rare visitors to Hamilton, but their stats look encouraging, with Charles Hills one from one here and Saffie Osborne showing three places from six.

A speculative e.w. in the hope of getting points in the comments listings, Fractional ran two decent maidens as a two-year-old, the first of which, the daughter of Frankel was 4L 5th of ten behind three subsequent winners. Has some improvement to find but I'm hoping that she's filled out over the winter and this step up in distance will suit. Yard in good form with 13 winners and 13 frame-filolers from their last 40 runners.
