This one is a little speculative, but I just don't think the horse should be 50/1 despite running a stinker on handicap debut last time. I have a small inkling the horse really could improve for the distance, though. The horse ran very well over 2m bumpers back at the beginning of 2024, and it could well suit a lot more than the 1m 3f seen on the last two attempts. 50/1, I'll roll the dice.

I think there are two big question marks over Sweet Couture. I think this will be too sharp. Molimook might struggle over 6f based on its 5f runs and speedy profile. So I'm looking for some value at the bottom end, and it looks to me like this one ran much better than it looks on paper. Running at the front for a long time and quite wide for most of the way, this one only weakened towards the end. It should improve, and the race that it competed in has seen a lot of the horses run well in their following runs. 28/1 for a place, let's go.

I'm all about probability, and this one surely isn't a 100/1 shot? I'm following the trainer Jack Morland quite keenly. He seems to be picking up a lot of horses and rejuvenating them, but this one is a horse he has had from scratch. I know it was 8L behind in 6th position out of 7 last time, but it started slowly. It was on debut, looked green, and the run was better than the raw writing on the card. Could improve, and it wouldn't shock me if it came place. 100/1 is too big.

This one caught my eye after 6 months off the track on handicap debut at the end of last year. It started slowly and faded late but only finished 4L off the winner. I expect this one to improve a bunch, and 16/1 with 3 places is worth a punt in this.

There is some doubt whether this horse wants the 2 miles, and I understand it. Yet, this one ran well for most of the way at Newcastle last time at the first-time attempt over the distance. He only faded in the last furlong. Newcastle is stiffer than this track, and I have a suspicion this one can run well here.

I don't like the lack of run. I don't like the handicap mark, and I don't like the trainer or jockey much. Hmmm, ok, I'm not selling it... I just remember the horse being quite fast back in the summer, in classier races than this. If it's ready to race, 11/1 could be too big for 3 places.

Double figure price and course winner 7 times! 6F is the ideal distance. The trainer had 2 winners at this track a few days ago. Horses who are old all-weather veterans just like this one haven't actually run too badly over the last 3 runs. Now down to a mark of 57, it's hard to see it out of the frame at 10/1. I missed 16/1 earlier.

Let's be honest, the favorite is too short in this at 4/5. The Crafty Master ran a good race here last time, 4L behind Zoran. That form is probably the strongest recent form of any horse in this. This horse is guaranteed to stay, looks to be stripping fitter each run after a break, and the mark is now back to its last winning mark. I think it will place.

Based on pure form, I suppose you would back Artistic Star in this, but it ran no sort of race last time. This one caught my eye last time. Six months off the track and a change in yard, the horse ran quite well in a strongish race. Jack Morland seems to be improving decent horses who were seemingly on the decline for their previous yards, and I expect this one will be another similar type. The horse clearly likes/handles the all-weather and has won here by 5L on its only run in the past. 10/1 for 3 places seems a punt to me.

I really like horses by Churchill, who is turning out to be a good sire. I like this horse's last run, finishing a decent second at Wolverhampton, acting like a furlong less might be beneficial. And I also like Finley Marsh's crazy all-weather record for big-priced winners. Plus, I know this yard likes to plot winners, like most. I'll take a punt at 20/1.

100/1? Ok, hear me out... My theory is... This horse finished 8L behind the Godolphin horse in this race, who is likely to go off FAV, possibly around evens.... There have been 2 other winners in that debut race. BLUE LACED won yesterday at this course, and GEMMARI, who was just 3 lengths in front of this horse, has also gone on to finish a neck second, again at this course... If the price was 25/1, I would probably leave it, but 100/1 is a 'just roll the dice' bet for 3 places.

My all-weather bets are often the same theme. Course and distance winner 3 times - tick. Many good runs at the course, finishing within 5L of the winner the last twice - tick. Double-figured priced and 33/1 is too big for 4 places - tick. I'll take my chance, this one might finish strongly into a frame. Hopefully, there is a bit of pace on.

Any C/D winner in this low grade of racing that is a double-figure price gets my attention. This one was seen to run poorly last time but over 5f in a wide draw. The form line often gets skewed. This one has run well twice in its last 6 runs, and its mark still continues to slide. 18/1, 3 places, too big.

A lot of the time, my reasoning for an all-weather bet will often be 'the price is just too big.' This applies here, 33/1 for 4 places in a race full of Blackpool donkeys? Recently joining the yard, I expect Ivan Furtado to get a win out of this one somewhere. He is good with yard switchers. The jockey claims 5 pounds and is inexperienced, but she has a 3/13 record, which doesn't read so bad.

The yard doesn't seem to be able to get the distance right with this horse, or so it may seem... Finishing well over 3 solid 5F runs in a row, finishing around 1L behind the winner on each occasion, they decide to up the horse to 7F and the horse is nowhere to be seen. I suspect 6F clearly could suit based on previous runs, especially this horse's 2nd to Starling a few runs back. 12/1 for 3 places is the value in the race.

On that occasion, this horse looked like 7F might be beneficial, and we get that step up today. I'll take a small punt on this one improving over 7F. 40/1 for 3 places is worth a shout. This is not a confident selection, like so many all-weather horses. But I cannot reiterate enough, the all-weather horses are so often donkeys who are all plot jobs ready to pop up at the right time. You can find value anywhere in the bottom half of the betting. This horse won 3 times in 2023 and had 9 months off the track this year. It came back in October and has had 5 underwhelming runs. However, the horse caught my eye in a stronger race than this in November, running OK at this course for a long way before fading. Will they take the 'handbrake' off on this occasion? Who knows. The mark is low enough. 33/1 is worth a 4 place bet.

8 wins over course and distance. Need I say more? The horse has loved this track over its career, running well many, many times. I simply always back it at double figures in these low-grade races. The horse has been tried over 7f and 8f the last 2 runs, and although this horse finishes like a train, those distances don't work. A finishing rattle over 6f makes it the key distance.

Once a winner over C/D off a mark of 82 and a mark of 80... this horse has now not won in 49 runs. Hardly inspiring, is it? However, the horse rarely runs a bad race at this track, always seems to be within 3 or 4 lengths of the winner, and the trainer seems to get horses to pop up out of form on the all-weather quite regularly. Has been placed 11 runs out of 33 on the all-weather. I'll take my chance for a place at 10/1.

Racing is all about finding better odds than the probability, and on the all-weather, most of the horses are donkeys who are being chosen to attempt to win/place at random times by their yards. In this race, Rock Armour has run over this C/D on its last four runs. On 3 occasions, it has finished within a length or so of the winner, being placed 3 times. Kaiya Fraser takes a good 3 pounds off, and 14/1 is value for 3 places.

This horse is clearly a bit better at 6F, which is off-putting at first. But the horse has won here twice before and has finished in a place 19 times out of 40 on the all-weather. The horse ran poorly last time and never got involved, hence the double-figure odds. But the horse had to go wide... the draw was poor, draw 10 out of 10. 14/1 is value for a place.

This one isn't an obvious one on paper, but not too many Burke horses go off at 33/1. This one was gelded and has run 3 times since. The first 2 were shockers, but I noted in the last race, the horse was quietly staying on out the back. Dropped to a lower grade now, the mark is low enough (could be a plot job), and 33/1 for a place is worth chancing.

I half remember this horse on debut, finishing close to a few decent horses, including Seaplane, over 6 furlongs. Unfortunately, the horse didn't progress for Alice Haynes over the next bunch of runs. The horse was sold off to Mulholland and had its first run on Boxing Day, not showing too much back in 9th place, but it was only 4 and a bit lengths behind. The mark is lower now, and the yard has booked Hector Crouch, who is a pretty hot jockey on the all-weather right now. There are a lot of question marks over most of the horses in this, and especially those at the top of the betting, whether 6F is really their trip. Some look like 5F or 7F are better. 20/1 on this one, just purely based on its debut, its tiny spark of revival on its last run, and a good pilot on board in Hector Crouch. 22/1, 3 Places, Ok, let's go.

I love to target small runner races on the all-weather. You get so many bigger priced winners. Any of these 5 could win in my opinion. The 2 shortest prices in the market look arguably better over 5f from what I have seen. So I'll take the biggest price on offer for 2 places, a horse that has stuck to 6f in all of its 5 races.

Both times this horse has gone off fairly short at 13/8 fav and 10/3, both times running on well towards the finish. Conditions should suit today and this one could look better on its third start. In fact, prior to that, this horse always seems to finish quite well over 3 miles. Yet they revert back to 2m 4f and 5f for the next 2 races, and the horse runs poorly.
