Since moving from France to the Skelton yard, Brace For Landing has raced three times and each time finished in the top five. The latest of these was over today's course and distance in early January. He was beaten by less than six lengths, with the next horse a further fifteen lengths away. The Skeltons won this back in 2021 with Langer Dan. In last year's race the Skelton horse, Knickerbockerglory, finished fifth, and the previous year their horse finished second, beaten by a nose. It appears this race could be one that the yard does target. Hopefully, Brace For Landing will obtain another high finishing place for the yard from a one-pound lower mark than his last race.

It is difficult to assess the form of the unbeaten French horse, Lynx De Thaix. He has raced three times over hurdles and larger obstacles and has won them all. He has now moved to the UK to be trained by Tom Symonds, who earlier in his career was assistant trainer to Nicky Henderson. The last four horses Tom has sent out have produced one win, one third place, and two unplaced finishes. The jockey takes three pounds off, and underfoot conditions will hopefully be fine for Lynx De Thaix to equip himself well on his British racecourse debut.

The slump at Tottenham has continued at pace, and unless they turn things around, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that they could soon occupy one of the three relegation spots in the Premiership. The defeat at Fulham means that Tottenham have lost their last four Premier League fixtures. Being back at home, Tottenham may not find things any easier, having only taken two points from their last six home fixtures. Crystal Palace may also be struggling with their form, but they have taken four points from their last three away fixtures. They won this fixture last season, and with the current form of Tottenham, it is possible for Palace to do so again.

20:15 Newcastle v Man Utd

Man Utd

With one win and five defeats in their six Premiership games, Newcastle welcome an in-form Manchester United team who have responded to the leadership of Michael Carrick. Under his leadership, United have moved up the table and now occupy third place in the Premiership. They have taken seven points from their last three away games, which included a win at top-of-the-table Arsenal. Unless Newcastle can find something extra, they could be facing their fourth consecutive home Premiership defeat.
19:30 Aston Villa v Chelsea

Aston Villa

Both teams lost away at the weekend: Chelsea at Arsenal, while Villa went down at Wolves. The Villa manager and supporters will be looking for a much better performance after that defeat to the team at the bottom of the table. Aston Villa have beaten Chelsea the last couple of times they have met. In that game against Wolves, Villa had plenty of possession and plenty of shots but failed to find the back of the net. Expecting a much better performance tonight from Villa as they seek to firm up their position in the top four.
19:30 Brighton v Arsenal

Arsenal

Arsenal had a slight dip in away form with draws at Brentford and Wolves. Their next away match saw them take on north London rivals Tottenham, where they returned to winning ways. Brighton have won their last two games, one of which was at home, to put a nice twelve-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone. With Man City playing Nottingham Forest tonight, Arsenal will be looking for all three points to maintain their advantage over City in the race for the title. Their last three visits to Brighton have seen Arsenal come away with two wins and one draw.
19:30 Fulham v West Ham

Fulham

Following wins against Sunderland and Tottenham, Fulham are up to ninth in the Premiership table. West Ham remain in the relegation zone following their defeat away at Liverpool. Fulham have won three of their last four home Premiership games.

A win for Manchester City would see them move back to within two points of table-topper Arsenal while leaving Nottingham Forest one place and two points above the relegation zone. At the weekend Forest lost away at Brighton, so there is every chance they will suffer their fourth consecutive Premier League away loss at Man City.

Both sides are in the top half of the Premiership, with Brentford four points higher. They have won their last three visits to Bournemouth. They have also won their last four away games. Celtic are two points behind Rangers with a game in hand, so Rangers will be keen to win this game. Not only to keep their rivals at bay, but also to close the gap on top-of-the-table Hearts.
