Thomas Frank needs his team to win to alleviate some of the pressure on him due to their league position. If this is the case, then there is every chance Spurs will field the stronger team, with Villa resting some of theirs. If that is the case, then there is every chance Spurs will get the result that will see them into the next round.

Soldiers Leap is a six-year-old who has only raced eight times. This season he recorded his first career win and followed that up with another success. Those two races were at Stratford and Uttoxeter. He was fitted last time out with a hood and won in a very easy manner. The ground for those two races was good to soft and soft. He retains the same headgear today, and the three-pound claimer Jack Andrews is once again entrusted with getting Soldiers Leap to the winning line in first place. He is up eleven pounds from his last race, but the ease with which he won that suggests he has every chance of completing the hat-trick.

Welcom to Cartries bounced back to form when winning for the first time in nearly two years at Sandown last month. That race was over today's trip of three miles and was on good to soft ground. Providing that was no fluke and he can race like that again, then with a four-pound rise the Paul Nicholls-trained horse should once again be competitive. With Harry Cobden in the saddle he could make it back-to-back wins for the first time in his career.
