I have an assessment system for races that covers ten different point scoring aspects for each selection I post. I back ALL my selections, I rarely look at a selection that is greater than 5/1 in the morning prices. Remember around 75 to 80% of winners come from the first four in the betting. Clear best on form to date. Runner-up over CD on debut in December behind an odds-on shot who holds entries at York and Epsom in the near future. Then reappeared earlier this month at Kempton when going clear but then not quite seeing it out and getting collared. Perhaps just needed it after four months off, and that form has already been franked by those behind.

Is better than the form shown on last two starts. Ran in five bumpers at a decent level without winning, picking up over £24K in place prize money. Hurdling career started well when runner-up here and then winning next time late last year. Disappointing both starts this year, but the return to this track, an ease in distance and grade should see him return to winning ways.

Probably needed the first run for this yard last time after more than six months off. Two from nine on turf, but more interestingly, has only had two AW runs. Both were here and runner-up both times. The winner last time has gone in twice from three starts since over in Bahrain. Should be ready after that last run and gets the blinkers back on from when last successful.

Likes to be held up and can finish with a rattle. Has raced at a decent level. Last three hurdle runs were all at listed level (placed twice). Found his feet chasing at the fourth attempt in January, coming with his usual late run. Tried to do the same at the festival (Grade 3 worth £84K) on his most recent run, but gave himself too much to do against top opposition. This is not quite that level and has every chance.

By far the most experienced in this weak-looking race. Won his sole point back in 2023, refused to race on rules debut but then followed that up with a decent second at Gowran Park in March last year. Failed to reproduce that form for the remainder of his time in Ireland. Only joined this yard last month and seemed improved for his change of surroundings when second on debut this month, only caught at the last after forcing the pace over 2 miles 5+. Very interesting today, dropped back to the minimum, and will be hard to peg back if given a front-running ride again.

Only two wins in career, and they came on first two starts back in Nov 22 & May 23! However, the second was over today's course and distance. Didn't really go on to build on those two runs after that, but has posted much better figures on last three starts following being gelded. Made the frame twice over this trip and then ran well but didn't stay the extra distance most recently. Silvestre De Sousa back on board is a big plus after not having ridden on last three starts, and the drop back in trip looks ideal.

The Mullins horse will probably go off a short-priced favourite, but ours gets a massive 14 lbs weight advantage over that one. Matwana has won two of her last three races and was runner-up in the other, a listed event, when only beaten by the favourite. Only sneaked home by the smallest of margins when long odds-on last time, but miles clear of the rest of the field, and the runner-up has gone in since as favourite, also well clear of the second. There should be still more to come now going handicapping.

From a top stable who are nicely in form. Lightly raced, just the one run in a bumper in 2023 (won at 4/5 on heavy going). A bumper last year (placed) and two hurdle runs along with wind surgery. Possible excuse first when pulled up. Best run to date when 4th in a class 3 in December. 4th again in January when dropped in trip and outpaced again in a class 3 novice. Pedigree suggests today's step up in trip combined with the ease in grade will be ideal.

Very Progressive last year, winning three times on going ranging from soft at Sandown to good to firm in a listed event at Ayr when he posted a career-best RPR 114. Good reappearance run in February when third behind the joint favourites. Was pressing between one and two out over a longer trip than today, and with that run under his belt and today's drop in distance, conditions look ideal.

Won her bumper on first start and has improved with each of her three starts over hurdles. Ridden very positively last time when making all to win comfortably. The fourth that day has gone in since as favourite at Wetherby, eased down. The top three in the betting today are all penalised for last time out wins, but only the selection has had that form franked since. Scores max points across my ratings today.

Only one win last year and went up to 96 following that success. Two fair runs last month to start this year off. The first was when fourth of sixteen over this trip, only weakening in the closing stages, and then 6th over a trip too far last time. That should have put him spot on for today, back over the right distance with ground conditions to suit, and now back down to the mark of his last two wins.

Massive chance here at the weights. Has only run here twice from 58 career starts, finished third and then last August over course and distance on good to firm, won eased down under today's jockey claiming five off a mark of 77. Can still claim three today and handicap mark is now down to only 72 after seven of last eight runs being on the AW. Will relish this return to turf on this going. Clear top rated across all my assessment rules.

Plenty of speed in a good flat pedigree. Only four starts so far for this yard. Needed the first after seven months off and then ran a cracker when third of 21 at Navan. Again, maybe just needed the run after another three months off in February before being highly tried last time in a class 2, 51K race at Kelso. Will find this much easier and is clearly top-rated on form to date.

Disappointing since winning on hurdles debut back in Dec 23 when winning by 16 lengths in a class 3 novice! Opening handicap mark of 107 is now down to only 93. The two best runs since that win have both come when ridden by the trainer's daughter, and she is back on board today and she claims a very handy seven. Double figure odds for last six starts but is currently second favourite today.

A fair while since he got his head in front, but this could be the day. Had a five-month break before joining this yard, and the two runs since have not been without promise. Needed the first when weakening after racing prominently, and then again last time when up with the pace and beaten two lengths into fourth. Last win was off 61, now all the way down to 41. Yard very much in form, and he has won round here three times in the past.

Scores well across my ratings. Last time out, second on handicap debut was the best run to date. The winner that day went in again five days later, winning comfortably. Up two pounds for that last run, but the same jockey can now claim 7lbs here, whereas that previous race was for conditional jockeys. Yard going well.

The only horse in the field to have had a run suggests it shouldn't be a betting race. However, racecourse experience along with market support counts for an awful lot in these events. Sucking Diesel put in a very promising display in the 'Brocklesby', racing prominently and indeed leading into the final furlong before weakening to finish 8th of 17, only beaten by 3 lengths. Likely to come on for that run, and it will need a smart newcomer to beat him today.

Won his point, then followed up with two out of three bumper wins. Comfortably won his first start over hurdles last November. Beaten into second on next start at Cheltenham, but the fourth that day has won since. Highly tried this year in three starts, including at the festival, and has made the frame twice in better races than today's. Didn't get home last time at Cheltenham after a mistake, but that was over three miles. This drop back in trip and ease in grade looks ideal. A big price at around 5/2 currently.

Very short price, but the only horse running today to score maximum possible points across my ratings. Third on debut in January, where the first and second have both won since. Then second in February. The winner that day hasn't run since, but the third has also gone in, so the form looks really solid.

Hasn't won a chase in fourteen attempts, but this is his local track and surprisingly has only run here three times, winning a hurdle and twice runner-up over fences. The most recent of those was off 135, so not out of it here off 110 despite being 3 lbs out of the handicap. Interesting jockey booking with Simon Torrens up.

Still a maiden over hurdles after eight runs. However, has three wins and three seconds from only ten starts on the flat when trained in France, so definitely not without ability. Interesting that the last six runs have been in handicaps, and today goes back into a maiden and drops in trip on this quicker ground where his flat speed will come to the fore. Has far more race experience than today's rivals, having already racked up £40K of win and place prize money. My best bet of the day.

Poor strike rate with only 2 wins from 37 starts and the last win way back in 2021. However, went up 10 lbs to a mark of 88 after that win, and that proved clearly beyond him. Has twice made the frame as that mark has slipped off 76 & 79, and most of last year's outings were in better races than this. But has been running quite well. Handicap mark now down to a career low of only 60, which gives him a real chance if fully wound up after a break.

Showed plenty of stamina when winning a point easily over three miles last May. Today's better ground and the step up in trip on this, her fourth hurdle start, should suit. A competent claimer takes off a handy 5 lbs. Strong in the betting this morning and my best bet of the day across my ratings.
