This is very competitive, but I think Surrey Belle is clearly very progressive, and I doubt she has hit her ceiling yet over hurdles. 2 from 4 so far. Winning by a massive margin last time out. That was just a prep for this. I imagine this has always been the plan. Brian Hughes jocked up again, which is always a positive in these big races. Ground and trip all fine for her. There will be no excuses on the day if she fails to trouble the judge.

Likes it here at Newbury. Especially with his new prominent tactics. Used to good effect here in December. Failed to win since but ran a stormer when 3rd here last time out. That was very hot. Certainly a lot tougher than this today. Saint Segal, with his style, jumping is key. If he's able to keep that together and be fluent, he can easily get away from these.

Dare To Shout looks to have found a good opportunity here. Won a novice handicap back in November but has been second in the last 4 races since. Ultra consistent, but is it a habit? Hopefully not. Two starts ago, he gave Ultima winner Myretown 10 lbs and gave him a race to a point. That was here at Kelso. This is the furthest he has been as a chaser but did run this far over hurdles and stayed the trip fine. A great chance here of getting back to winning ways.

She has raced at the festival 3 times and never won. However, it doesn't tell the full story. The first year she was too inexperienced. The second year she ran into a well-handicapped rival. Last year the ground went against her. None of that this year. She's in great form, has her ground. Surely she gets that victory.

A potential superstar. Comes here after one run. That's confidence from the team back home. The talk is about the other favorite, but I think Lulamba can really outclass him and burst into the racing scene.

Not a horse we can trust, I suppose. He's clearly a massive talent, just a bit of a nutter. However, last time out they tried him over 3 miles. Unsure whether he would get the trip, but he definitely did. They can now ride him with confidence, plus the application of cheekpieces. He could have pounds in hand of the handicapper.

A competitive race. I've been reading through this race a lot, and while there is plenty in there with chances, it seems that My Mate Mozzie is primed for a big run. Been kept on the go over hurdles and the flat in the summer and early season. This looks like a long-term plan.

Not a race I generally get involved in. However, after going through stats, etc., I found this lad at a nice price. Connections went close last year in the race. The better ground and application of cheekpieces give him a very good chance of being involved here. Cannot be underestimated.

A short price but nonetheless. He's a very special horse. Perhaps the greatest hurdler I have certainly seen. Had issues last season, as we all know, which kept him off the track. Yet, he has roared back as good as ever. He has a so-called super mare to beat, but I think her running makes the race easier. He will have a pace to aim at. Give us a special performance to remember.

A decent chaser without being spectacular. Runs with credit all the time. His two standouts so far this season were over Christmas when not far behind some nice types. Form has been boosted. Then again last time when a neck second at Down Royal in January. Drops back into handicap company here, and I would like to think he's better than his current mark. Should run well.

I love this race. It's always a cracker. I found it hard to split two horses in this field: Batman Girac and Ooh Betty. Batman Girac, over from Ireland, is very intriguing. Coming over for this after falling at the last in his last race. I backed him and while he probably wouldn't have won, he was making his ground up nicely. If he repeats that, he could well jump past the field up the hill. He's a player, no doubt. However, one I'm really siding with is the mare Ooh Betty. She was underestimated last time out in grade two mares company. They never gave her a chance. While she finished 3rd, she was only beaten by 3 lengths. She has already won here at Sandown, her mark remains the same, and the drier the ground, the better. She has a touch of class about her, and connections have made no secret about that. I really like her chances.

Competitive race, but it could be that this lad is quite well handicapped. Probably had this race in mind for a while now. He has won 3 times this season. Sometimes not with ease as you would expect, but it's probably deceiving. This big field should play right to his strengths. Talented claimer Callum Pritchard on board once again, who is one I've been keeping an eye on for a long time. He's well worth his claim and beyond. Market could also point to Mr. McManus boosting his Cheltenham kitty. Big run expected.

A consistent horse for connections. Was a decent hurdler and has continued that form when placing in all chase starts to date. Although I expected him to win last time out, he never quite fired. Should go close here, and you would think he's a good bet for tip 2. The key tomorrow is the application of cheekpieces, which should really sharpen him up.

Decent enough hurdler. Sent chasing halfway through this season and has looked pretty steady. Winning in debut at Windsor before coming second at Cheltenham on New Year's Day behind the hugely talented Kalif De Berlais. Gained another chase victory last month at Sandown when running away with a novice's handicap. He has yet to run over this trip over fences but did in his hurdling days. It's a pretty tough ask against some seasoned, more experienced chasers, but you have to roll the dice in a race this valuable. His mark of 134 is workable, so I expect him to run a big race. Yard seems to be picking off some nice prizes this season, so the targeting of races is on point so far.

Likeable hurdler. Won the Scottish Champion Hurdle at the end of last season. Was also the best British finisher in last year's Supreme. I fancied him to win last time out in the Betfair Hurdle, but the ground unfortunately went against him. He still managed to finish 4th under top weight. He was just never able to pick up. The winner, however, was very well handicapped. Returns here in maybe a slightly weaker race, but the key is the better ground conditions. The drier, the better. He must surely enter the frame once again.

Harry Fry seems to have found the key to training Hymac these days. Finished last season on a high at Cheltenham in April. Won on seasonal debut at Newbury before a gallant 3rd in November at Cheltenham. Again next time out at Newbury, he ran a brave second. The winner this day could be pretty useful. Hymac runs here off the same mark. Has clearly been freshened up for this. White Rhino and Surrey Quest are big dangers. I'm just clinging to the fact that Hymac has fewer questions to answer than that pair. One fell last time out while the other may be in the handicapper's grip.

Such a consistent horse. Has been in the first 3 every time for the last 7 runs, winning 4 of those. Won here at Newcastle over 3 miles 5 in November. He's on a workable mark, and judging by his campaign, he has been trained for this, down to the last detail. Everything about him screams that the trip will be no problem, and he can go very close.

Was a very good hurdler and can be just as good over fences. Mopping up races like this. Just below that proper Grade One level. Given a tough start to fences behind Sir Gino, but things seemed to click for him in the second half of the race at Warwick last time out. This trip is perfect for him, in my opinion. It would be a shock if he gets beat.

Raced 3 times over hurdles before being sent chasing. Connections wasting no time. Tough but satisfactory start to chasing. Finishing 3rd behind Ballyburn and Ocastle Des Mottes. Improved again to win on St. Stephen's Day. I do expect him to improve further again here. With the drop in trip a further positive. He's a fantastic each-way price considering the potential. Should go very well.
