Back to 2 miles today. Bumped into one over an extended 2m 2f last time out. Third that day; Tapley won yesterday at Stratford. Hopefully he avoids the forecast rain, as that will certainly benefit him. He's the standout horse for me today.

I really like Mel Rowley horses over a fence. Always well schooled. This lad ran to a better rating over hurdles. He has been a slow burner over fences. He needs a stamina trip and better ground, which he should have tomorrow. His chase mark could soon look very kind, so fingers crossed tomorrow is the day.

You need a horse with no stamina questions to answer in races like this, and Planned Paradise is one with no stamina doubts. He is progressing over these trips. He went up 9 lb in the weights after a smooth victory last time out. Sounds a lot, but he had loads left in the tank. Wals Buck is a worthy opponent, but I'm not sure he has the right conditions. Planned Paradise is the one to beat.

Hardly a winning machine, but after a spell of poor runs at the start of the season, he is slowly finding his feet again and looks primed to gain a long-awaited victory. Ran a stormer here last month when really serving it up to the favourite, going down by a length. A repeat of that performance here and he wins.

I've tipped this talented mare up before. She had a stint over fences and, although a pretty safe jumper, chasing has been postponed for now. Much more at home over hurdles, last time she won another Listed race. She has stamina to prove here up to 3 miles, but I would say, if anything, it could even bring out more improvement in her. With her style, she looks more stamina-tried. Ground shouldn't be an issue, as she has form on all types. It would be a minor surprise if she is beaten. She is potentially the best horse in the yard for me.

This is a proper Gold Cup. So many angles. I've been with this lad a very long time. Everything about the Gold Cup should suit him. He stays, he jumps, handles most ground, has that tactical gear. I know the same can be said for a few of these, but I believe this race is part of his destiny. I expect him to play late and come driving past after the last.

Dinoblue is high class. But this mare has had the season of all seasons. Winning two of the biggest handicaps of the season. Drops in trip here, but she jumps that well, so it shouldn't pose an issue. She has pace, not all stamina. This test will suit her. She's got the lot.

A competitive big field but Jeriko stands out. Has been campaigned with this race in mind. Loves Cheltenham nowadays . Yes he's a nutter, but a talented one. Sure to go well with top amateur on board

A very talented individual. Yes, the favourite is going to be a tough nut to crack, but his best form is on soft. Plus Impaire Et Passe is a high-class chaser in his own right. Jus hasn't had a clear run, so his true ability is unknown. Hard to rule him out.

I can't believe he's the price he is. He's done nothing wrong all season. Improved, and even when beat last time out, he was giving the impressive winner 6 lb. The drying ground is a massive plus. Hopefully the rain stays away long enough.

The best jumper of a fence by a mile in this field. Fantastic rhythm that will keep him in the race for a very long way and get others under pressure. The fave is incredibly talented, especially based on the last run, but that was heavy ground. So here it gives others hope. Leau Du Sud is fresh as hell for this, so won't have any excuses. Il Etait Temps should not be underestimated either.

He was odds-on for this race nearly before Christmas. He bombed at the Dublin Racing Festival. I can kind of forgive him as the race was run on horrendous ground. He needs to jump well. He is clearly very talented. If he runs like connections think he will and backs up how they rate him, his price could be huge.

Look, the three mares are outstanding. They really are. And at the start of the season. I said The New Lion isn't a two-miler. I still stand by that to a certain degree, but... does he have to be to win this year's edition? Possibly not. I think he will outstay this lot after the last. I really do. It will be a close finish, but Harry Skelton can really drive this lad home.

I absolutely love this lad. Last year's Triumph runner-up. He looks better and better now over fences. I thought his last run was the perfect education from Nico. It made the horse think and battle. While Kopek may be the speed horse, it's an Arkle. You have to stay to win an Arkle. If Lulamba is in touch two out, he outstays the lot of them.

Hopefully the dream team of Hendo and Nico can get us off to a flyer. This lad is unbeaten this season and looks better with every run. He's got the perfect blend of pace and stamina to win a race like the Supreme. He has already had a taste of the course as well. He's straightforward to ride and looks to have a favourite's chance. When Seven Barrows have a top contender in this race, they rarely miss the target! I respect the others, especially Talk The Talk and Mydaddypaddy, but Old Park Star has the attributes to win.

On recent form, he looks to have no chance, but I believe he can have somewhat of a revival today. His last few runs have been over 3 miles or close to it. I had doubts that he truly stays that far on heavy ground. He needs good ground to be seen at his best. He drops in trip here and gets his better ground. Ann Hamilton is brilliant at tweaking things with her small number of horses to find wins for those who look on the decline. I think he can run a massive race in this small field.

Competitive race, as always. Is there a superstar lurking? No. Is there a horse thrown in? Doubtful. Go Dante has won the last two renewals, which boosts his already superb record at Sandown. He won here in December, which was followed by two poor efforts at Windsor and Newbury. I wouldn't be too concerned with those; he ran poor races last season before his win in the race. He has cheekpieces on, which will hopefully keep his mind on the job. He's a fantastic each-way selection.

A competitive race. With one in here lurking who is definitely closer to winning than most. Colonial Empire. His first try at 3 miles ??" strike a line through it. He made a bad error, followed by the jockey losing his irons. It really was a race to forget. Two subsequent runner-up places followed. Both times involved an epic battle when maybe hitting the front too soon. Talented claimer Callum Pritchard takes over in the saddle. He is well worth his 3 lb claim. I have nothing against Edward Vaughan, who has ridden him latest and who claims 7 lb, but having Callum on today could be the key to winning.

Looks in paper a two-horse race, with one of those entering his veteran years. He's better over further and may be using this as a prep. That is Mahons Glory. The other, my fancy, is Icare Grandchamp. He's only 8, is at his best trip, and will really enjoy the track and ground. Plenty of reason to be positive. He seems to have found his mojo lately. Even when beaten, it's never been far. I struggle to see how he doesn't win.

I struggle to see why this lad is such a big price. He should be favourite. Second in a point and then well beaten in a Cheltenham novice. This clearly wasn't his running. No surprise to see him have a wind operation shortly after. Non-runner the last two times due to ground, so hopefully today is the day we get to see him. Ground should be OK today up there. I thought this lad would certainly be lining up at the Festival next week. He's the perfect Twiston-Davies horse. Today he will announce himself as above average.

This lad has a huge chance here. I fancied him at Cheltenham last time out, but unfortunately he fell. He had his backers that day and went off favourite. He has some smart back form to his name: 2nd in a big Punchestown handicap, and 4th in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle. Seasonal debut, but he wasn't beaten far. All in all, this step up in trip and type of test is ideal for him. Richie McLernon rides, who I love in these races. He's a very patient jockey and doesn't rush into things. The partnership here should go very well.

Second last time out. That was her first run since May. She showed a great attitude and really saw the trip out. She just failed to reel in the winner, giving away nearly two stone. Back up in trip here, which she will relish. She's the one to beat. Her back form is pretty solid.

It's really hard to go against Mr Griffiths here. He didn't show much early on in his career, but once upped in trip to 3 miles plus, he's been superb. Winning his last two. Last time out in a conditionals' race where he absolutely hacked. He's due a hefty rise in the future, so now is the time to strike.
