Imperial Merlin had wind surgery in January last year. In March he came straight in with a Class 4 win off a 121 but took on weight and stepped up to Class 3. He was out of the money in all runs last year except one, when he was second off a 124. Although pulled up last time out in January in a Class 4, he has now dropped below that last winning mark. Each-way.

Dyno Dave has not won yet, but Dec to last month had three runs over fences in C4 which were PU, a fourth and a fifth. He drops to C5 today and gets James Bowen to help out. I would not be surprised if there was some improvement today if he gets a clear run with no mistakes. EW 4P

Getaway King got a hat-trick at the end of last year, showing improvement each run. The last of those was when taking on 3 lbs and the rider did not claim his usual 5 lbs. He won by a bigger margin of nearly 3L. Although the latest run was only fourth off a 97, that was after an 11-week break and on soft ground with a drop to 95. With a return to firmer going today, he could be back in the money.

Sherborne is another veteran that has not won since last April off a 113 in C4. When up to a 116 he has been on a falling mark. His latest run last month was a distant third off a 110. With a drop to 108 today, he could be in with a chance.

Sweeper System had great hopes on handicap debut back in January when dropping to Class 5 and stepping up in trip to 2m 3f, but his best runs to date have been over shorter distances and on firmer ground. Worth another shot, but at 2 miles and good to soft today, each way.

Pyleigh Master didn't do much last year but did get a C4 maiden win in April. While only able to manage a distant seventh in a C3 on handicap debut in a 0-130, he might find today's C4 on a 0-115 a tad easier. While a bit heavy for this grade, he has a 7-lb claimer on top and gets an EW from me.

Looking For Larry changed yards in Aug and this OAP has not been great in 2025, but has been keeping better company than today in C2??"C4. His best run was in Jan under Sam Twiston??'Davies when he was a distant fourth in C4. Although he PU'd last month, that was at 3m1f, a trip he has not done well at of late. I think the drop to C5 today at 2m7f on GS gives him a chance to get back in the money with Sam again. EW 5P

Watchdog got off the mark in a C6 at Newcastle in Dec off a 56 but took on 9 lbs and stepped up to C5. Although only fourth off a 65, that was still only just over a length and a half away from the winner. With a drop back in class/grade today to C5 and a 0-65 and still on a 65, could see him bounce back. EW 4P

Sold Out won a classified last month by over 2L when second up after dropping in grade to a 0-50. Although the two handicap runs since have been a bit duff, I think the return to a classified today could see him back in the money.

La Marquise gets my vote as showed improvement when she was third last month after a break and wind surgery. I always expect more when second up after the OP and a break, and she has Joe Anderson in the saddle this time claiming 3 lbs.

Risk It All has slowly made improvement since having wind surgery last Aug., with the two C5 runs showing the best results. The latest of those was last month when second off a 97 and up just 1 lb, so worth another go with Freddie Mitchell this time claiming 3 lb.

Park Annonciade has not won hurdling for a long time but changed yards in Oct and when third up he made a big improvement when getting back over fences, coming home third just 1½L away from the winner. I think that now second up and 1 lb lighter he could be in with a chance.

In January she changed yards to Mickey Bowen and today is her debut for this new yard and she gets Sean Bowen to help out. Worth a chance that this ends well in C4 off top weight.

Black Hawk Eagle did show improvement when last out in October when getting back in novice company and was third off a 122. A drop in grade to a 0-120 makes him worth a shot. He may be ready after a break off a 120.

Although he ran a bit duff for a new yard on his return last month, he could have needed the run and I expect more now second up EW.

Thanks for the help did well last April in a 25-runner handicap hurdle at Punchestown off a 116 to win by over 2L, but shot up to a 127 and has been pants since the return in Nov. Those runs were all in C2, and I think that dropping to a 120 and into C3 company could be worth an EW 4P.

Bambino Fever had a cracking time in bumpers last year with wins in G2 and two in G1. When second up hurdling, she returned to her winning ways to win by 12L in January, and I have to expect more improvement today.

Hows Hannah won under Jody in PTP. She changed yards to Mullins and came straight in with a win by 13L on her yard/rules debut in a bumper. She followed up with a 2L win over hurdles at today's trip and looks weighted to do it again.
