Both teams started this year's 2. Bundesliga campaign with a single point out of two matches. There's no clear favorite in this match, and I favor Münster due to their home advantage. Last year, Münster defeated Hertha twice.

15:00 Barrow v Notts County

Notts County

Both teams are two games into this season. Barrow had one shot on goal in total. Notts County had eight shots on goal in total. Usually a close game and, in my opinion, probably a potential confidence booster for Notts County.
15:00 Blackpool v Huddersfield

Huddersfield

50 WIN

@2.62

Huddersfield has two scoring center backs in Jack Whatmough and Joe Low making them dangerous in set piece and corner situations. The team managed to get 10 corners in the last match, so it seems they are really aiming for it. Blackpool conceded 7 goals already. Last week they conceded four times, two of them were set piece and corner situations.

15:00 Bristol City v Charlton

Bristol City

Bristol City had the most shots on target from every away team in round 1. And they were very effective too, scoring 4 times out of 5. Out of the last 7 home matches where Bristol City were the slight favourite, they won 6 of them.
15:00 Crewe v Crawley Town

Crewe

In the first two matches of the season Crewe managed to get 37 shots, of which 14 were on target. Crawley conceded 5 times already this season. So Crewe needs to keep doing what they're doing and three points are more than likely for Crewe in this match.

Clearly, Sankt Pauli are the favorites in this match, and they should win this round. Last year, they played an amateur team as well in the first round, and they needed overtime to progress to the next round. The Bundesliga is yet to start, but Eintracht Norderstedt, playing in the highest amateur league, Regionalliga Nord, is already three matches into the competition. They will stand their ground and make it hard on Sankt Pauli.

Total Goals

Both teams ended the first round in a draw. The games had respectively 4 and 6 goals in them. So the scoring power is there and the defensive flaws are also there, on both ends. I expect 3 or more goals in this match.

With Aleksander Isak out of this match, the question is: will Newcastle be powerful enough to do damage to Villa's defense? I do not believe so. In their last encounter, April this year, Villa won 4-1.
15 August 2025
20:00 Liverpool v Bournemouth

Liverpool

In the previous two seasons, this fixture also happened in the early stages of the competition. Liverpool won those matches 3-1 and 3-0. I believe the champions are heading off to a good start of the season.
19:45 OH Leuven v Genk

OH Leuven #1-0

Both of these teams had a bad start to the new season. Genk is creating chances but is not capitalizing on them. Last season this match ended in a 3-1 home victory. I am not expecting as many goals.
19:45 Rennes v Marseille

Marseille & Yes (Result + BTTS)

Result and BTTS

Marseille had a great finish last season. The preparation games looked solid. And in last year's first round they managed a 1-5 victory over Brest. The same scenario looks likely for this game.

In last week's round, TOP Oss had a very convincing win against MVV Maastricht [4-0]. Cambuur lost against Dordrecht and lost center back Jorn Berkhout due to a red card. It would surprise me if Cambuur wins this game with a two goal difference.
19:00 Telstar v PEC Zwolle

Telstar & Yes (Result + BTTS)

Result and BTTS

Telstar had an excellent start to the competition. They lost against Ajax, but deserved at least a goal and made a really good impression. If Telstar wants any sense of surviving this year, games against opponents like PEC Zwolle should be a home win.
14 August 2025
19:45 Dundee Utd v Rapid Vienna

Yes (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

The last three matches that Dundee United played saw two or more goals on either side. This includes the 2-2 score against Rapid Vienna in their first leg.
19:00 AEK Athens v Aris Limassol

AEK Athens

This is a must-win situation for AEK Athens in front of their home crowd. Falling out of the Conference League against a Cypriot opponent will not go well with the hardcore fans.
19:00 FC Utrecht v Servette

FC Utrecht

There is a positive vibe in Utrecht. The team is looking forward to a long European campaign, albeit in the Europa League or the Conference League. They started well in the Eredivisie as well. Servette is struggling and had a change of management.
19:00 NK Celje v Lugano

NK Celje

The first leg ended in a very convincing 0-5 victory for NK Celje. Surely Celje would like to please their home crowd with at least another win.

Vikingur surprisingly won the first leg at home with a score of 3-0. If Brondby wants to prolong their European campaign they have to get the same result or better. Brondby made their intentions clear in their home match against Vejle showing seven shots on target and hitting the woodwork during the match.

Plymouth were the worst away team in last year's Championship. They had an unconvincing start in League One this year, and for now, it seems that their new manager is still looking for answers. Bolton also lost their opening match despite having more opportunities to score than their opponents.

Luton managed to win against Wimbledon but failed to create a lot of chances. An own goal and a long-distance shot finally did the trick. Peterborough did alright against Cardiff despite losing the match. At home this time, their efforts will be enough to secure a point.

Under their new manager, Lee Grant, Huddersfield are off to a great start. The team created a lot of chances against Leyton Orient and capitalized on that with a 3-0 victory. Reading, on the other hand, did not create much against Lincoln City despite having the ball a lot during the game.

19:45 Sint Truidense v Dender

Yes (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

The last two times these two teams met, the match ended with goals on either side. At Sint Truiden, the match ended with 3 goals each. I am confident this match will end with goals on both ends.
19:00 De Graafschap v VVV

De Graafschap

Every time these two teams meet, it seems the home team has the upper hand. De Graafschap is a young, energetic team, which had some decent results in preparation for the new season. They will be eager to get off to a good start, and so will the home crowd. A full house is to be expected.
19:00 Fortuna Sittard v Go Ahead Eagles

Go Ahead Eagles

Last week, Go Ahead Eagles, as cup holders, met with champions PSV and could keep up with the team from Eindhoven pretty well. They would have won the match if it had lasted 70 minutes. So, Go Ahead is ready for this year's league and could surprise Fortuna, taking away the three points at stake.

17:30 SC Preussen Munster v Paderborn

Both Teams to Score

In last year's encounter we witnessed fourteen shots on target and the match ending in three goals each. This will be a nice open match with goals on each side.

20:00 Port Vale v Cardiff

Yes (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

Against Rotherham last weekend, Port Vale were a bit unlucky to not get a point out of that match. They hit the woodwork during the match and did have more touches inside the penalty area than Rotherham had. Cardiff scored two goals and missed another two big chances. So both teams have enough attacking strength, and I expect to see a goal on either side.
19:30 Servette v FC Utrecht

FC Utrecht

Last Saturday, Servette lost their match against Sankt Gallen at home, conceding four goals. Not the preparation you'd wish for before an important qualifying match. Two goals came from set-piece situations, a specialty FC Utrecht seems to master. In my mind, there's no chance Servette will proceed to the next round. In fact, this could be over after this first match.
18:30 PAOK Salonika v Wolfsberger AC

PAOK Salonika

Wolfsberger AC are low on confidence while visiting their Greek opponents after losing their first match in the Austrian championship last weekend. PAOK showed solid results in friendlies prior to the season and look to be ready to start off their European campaign.
18:00 AIK v Gyor Eto FC

No (BTTS)

Both Teams to Score

It has been a while since AIK conceded a goal in their home stadium in any competition. It was Mjällby, the current leader in the Allsvenskan, on the 11th of May. AIK won that match. This shows their defensive strength at home. Gyor Eto FC will have their hands full getting near the goal.

FK Qarabag comfortably made it through to this round by winning the first leg 0-3 at Shelbourne, making the second leg a formality. They'll be looking for the same scenario in this round by winning away at Shkendija. They are stronger and more experienced, and should be able to pull this off.

Silkeborg is yet to score a goal, two rounds in the competition. Randers is looking good, after managing four points out of two consecutive away matches.
12:30 Genk v Antwerp

Genk were unlucky to lose against Club Brugge last round, despite 10 shots on target. They will be looking to take revenge from that result against Antwerp and keep the three points at home.
12:30 Magdeburg v Eintracht Braunschweig
