Now stepping back up in trip on only his fourth start for this yard, he has a huge chance based on his run over today's C&D on good ground in a competitive Class 2 handicap hurdle back in October last year, when finishing 3rd of 17 to Ma Shantou. He is now 2 lb lower.

Couldn't have been more impressive in this race last year when beating 'Heart Wood' easily by 9L. Looks to have been primed to follow up after beating 'Gaelic Warrior' by 5L at Leopardstown (3m 100yds) on soft ground in a Grade 1 Chase event last month. Should hopefully relish the step back in trip after having travelled like a dream that day.

This looks like another very competitive race, which could go the way of the current market leader Sixmilebridge. He has looked a very exciting prospect over fences this term, but I'm not sure the ground will see him at his best. I've decided to plump for this one at big odds after he caught the eye at Leopardstown (2m 5f 107yds) on soft ground in a competitive Grade 3 Handicap Chase last month when finishing a creditable 10L 6th of 23 to Backmersackme. He was travelling well until fading late on, so he could have a squeak now dropping in trip slightly and has won on good ground in the past.

Looks a typically open-looking race which has been won by some big-priced winners in the past. Current market leader 'Romeo Coolio' could have a lot more to offer but is stepping into the unknown regarding trip. I can see a big effort from this one now back on today's better ground after finishing a disappointing 3rd of 4 to 'Kaid D'Authie' at Leopardstown (2m 5f 107yds) on soft ground in a Grade 1 novice event last month when very short in the betting (3/10 fav). Now stepping up in trip, he can hopefully leave that form well behind and get back on track.

Looks very short in the market for what looks a seriously competitive race with many potential improvers. A good stat is that the market leader at the top of the betting has a really good record in this race. His trainer has expressed just how good this one is and he can hopefully continue on the up after winning at very short odds (4/9 fav) at Newbury (2m 4f 118yds) on Good to Soft ground in a Class 1 Novice Hurdle back in December, beating Klimt Madrik by 1¼ lengths. He arrives here fresher than most.

The Irish hold a strong hand in this, and I'm quite keen on the prospects of this one, who looks on the upgrade over fences and may be worth chancing now stepping up in trip after beating O'Toole by 6½ lengths at Cork (2m 5f 50yds) on yielding ground in a handicap chase back in November last year. Looks a seriously competitive race, which could hopefully see this one get off the mark for the season after running very well on both starts this term. The booking of jockey Mark Walsh catches the eye. He looked in need of a step up in trip on his most recent start when finishing a head 2nd of 11 to Donnacha over today’s course (2m 4f 127yds) on soft ground in a Class 1 Handicap Chase back in January. He looks very interesting despite going up 3 lb. One at big odds, The Doyen Chief, is worth a look, having been on the upgrade recently.

Has an impressive strike rate for a stable that has won 2 runnings of this in the last 3 years. He looked an exciting chaser in the making when last seen in November last year. Although he was very keen, he ran out an impressive winner on his only chase start to date, beating Lovely Furlong by 13L. On that run he surely has a lot more to give and looks a big improver, with conditions likely to suit.

In what looks a very intriguing race, this exciting prospect could take a lot of beating. Judged on his recent start, he returned in the style of a smart type, making all and beating "Hurricane Pat" impressively by 18L in a Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Haydock (1m 7f 144yds) on good to soft ground back in January. His stable has a good record in this race, winning 3 of the last 10 runnings. If adapting the same front-running tactics, he could run this field ragged, with "Talk The Talk" a big danger if my selection fails to deliver.

Form looks very strong, and with talented apprentice Harry Atkins taking off a handy 7 lb, could go close.

Stable have two in this with very strong claims. Slight preference for this one after being very well supported, 4/1 joint favourite at Cheltenham (3m 1f 56yds) on good ground in a Class 2 Handicap Chase last month when hampered by a faller early on and fell. He is interesting back on today's ground.

Has been slightly disappointing this term but could be very hard to beat dropping back in trip off the same mark as when beating 'Tutti Quanti' by 1L over today's C&D on soft ground in a Class 3 Novice Hurdle in February last year. On that form, he would be very well in today considering what that runner-up has achieved since.

Seems very versatile regarding ground and did very well under the circumstances when winning over today's C&D on soft ground in a Class 2 Handicap Chase last month, beating Grain D'Oudairies by 8L when making all. After making a very bad mistake 3f out, if he learns from it he could improve further despite going up 8 lb, with James Bowen again on board.
