Looks a very versatile performer regarding ground and should have a lot more to offer now stepping back up in trip. I was impressed by his attitude at Punchestown (2m 3f 150yds) on soft to heavy ground in a Grade 1 Chase event last month when getting the better of stablemate 'Fact To File' by a neck, but he should hopefully be more at home under today's trip. The form of his win at Aintree (3m 210yds) on good to soft ground in a Grade 1 Chase event back in April looks quite strong when he beat 'Grey Dawning' by 3L.

I feel this lightly raced chaser could have a lot more to offer and might be hard to beat if setting off in front. Has always promised to be a decent chaser but has been let down by some sloppy jumping in the past. He very much caught the eye at Newbury (3m 1f 214yds) on Good to Soft ground in a Class 1 Handicap Chase last month when finishing a respectable 5th of 24 to Panic Attack, making up ground after being very slowly away. That run can be upgraded, and if getting off to a better start today he could be a handicap blot off the same mark, with conditions very much in his favour. One at bigger odds, Threeunderthrufive, is worth a shout back on today's ground off what looks a tempting mark.

With his stable in tremendous form of late, it is interesting that this improving type is attracting a lot of support in the market for what looks a competitive race. Returning from a break off a mark of 120 may have underestimated her chances after only four starts to date. She finished off with a stylish 8-length success at Wetherby (2m) on Good to Soft ground in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle back in November 2024 and looks very much of interest on that form.

Current market leader Excello ran a sound race back from a break over today's course (2m 5f 19yds) on good to soft ground in a competitive Class 2 Handicap Chase last month, finishing a good 3rd of 17 to Colonel Harry. That was a decent effort but he may be vulnerable on today's ground, so I'd prefer taking him on. I much prefer siding with this one, who could come on a lot after finishing a respectable 5th of 9 to Sound And Fury at Carlisle (3m 2f 19yds) on good to soft ground in a Class 3 Handicap Chase last month. He has also run some solid races off much higher marks on today's ground in the past, most notably when finishing a cracking 8th of 32 to I Am Maximus over today's course (4m 2f 74yds) on soft ground in the Class 1 Grand National Handicap Chase in April 2024. He is now on a mark 12 lb lower, with talented rider Tristan Durrell taking off a further 3 lb.

Stable won this last year with a similar type and this one can hopefully follow up. His stable is in tremendous form of late, having shown vast improvement since moving to this yard.
