Sorry. I know Luna Celeste, on all known form, should win. But a second at Southwell in a Class 5 does not send me into raptures, and odds-on? Come on. I would sooner have a small punt on Whazzimo, who is far more likely, on breeding, to need further. Having run a fair 5th in a Class 5 at Southwell, running on apart from the ground. Rather like people, some horses are going to relish the heat and some are going to think you are joking.

Degale is well weighted, is pretty much in his grade, is well drawn, and has a fair chance of being involved in this. Roger Varian has a single runner in this. He's probably the favourite; it may win. But when leading southern trainers do this, it gives a lopsided look to the market, which sometimes can be of advantage to the punter.

There has been a bit of money around for it, but it is a Fahey Racing Club horse, so that may not have a lot of significance. 9/2 is very short, but it is a Class 6, and if it has come to itself it has a chance, providing the rains don't alter the ground too much.

The trainer was trumpeting the horse's chances for the 2000 Guineas and saying it was very fast. Assuming that to be the case, and based on shown racecourse form, it merits the nap today, dropping back in distance.

I am going for the lesser-fancied of the two in the market who won a four-runner race tidily. Of course you can tell nothing from that. Amo Racing own Karl's other runner and have another in the race. Interesting.

Turnstile is a bonny little horse and has been sent from Yorkshire to HQ for this. The form of his last race is working reasonably well. It is difficult to gauge the trainer's intention, but he merits a small nap based on performances to date.
