Very much an outfield Nap ran on quite well over a mile and 4 furlongs when 3rd of 5 at Lingfield at the start of September and has not demonstrated a great aptitude for the sport prior to that and is clearly not one of the stables brightest lights at present but this aint no classic a class 6 over Imile 6furlongs at the end of the day at Southwell well there you go the extra two furlongs may bring out the best of it and Hayley T rides Southwell well I am guessing its fairly local not without a shout at a price

Class will always out and Al Nayyir is to my eyes the classiest horse with the best credentials to win hence its favourite I am going to take a massive chance with Fighter who is far too short because it is trained by Aiden and ridden by Ryan M and is obviously on the top improving at a rate of knots I am never sure about Frankel horses over 2 miles as it is 3 almost 4 it gets the allowances we shall see

I hate the vagaries of Kempton the long straight for example that makes horses look like world beaters I always end up having a punt there lack of discipline the punters enemy .Sir Michael might be at home in his Pj's having a cup of cocoa when this is on but as he is a complete professional I doubt it .He does not use many apprentices in my memory but Joe Leavy 3 pound claimer is up tonight and it ran well here previously finishing predictably like The Flying Scotsman well beaten by one of Karl Burkes but must have a shout in this at a price

Sylvestre D S is at Redcar today although he is an exceptional rider in my opinion at Goodwood .the Nap selection ran a decent second in an apprentice race last time and a decent third in a race of a similar type before that he races off an unchanged mark today of course .the downside is the stable form of Michael Herrington is not great recently but the horse is a previous course and distance winner .Herrington runs another ridden by Jo Mason who also has a great chance I have a knack of picking the wrong one so maybe I will back both but the main one is definitely the selection

In a race of one furlong less I would be all over Novus I do not think it will stay the extra furlong in the going could well be placed Ryan rides one for Beckett if it is not too soft massive chance Botanical probable winner but 2 to 1 do me a favour . Bin Suroor is a fabulous trainer and has been given the rough edge of the sandpaper to deal with Passion and Glory with Oisin up represents a horse with the potential to win both Jockey and Trainer know Goodwood well the horse less so although has run well here over further form on soft ground the shorter distance could play to its strengths

Well the going is likely to be heavier than a Sumo wrestler in a three piece suit at Goodwood today Tom Marquand is the go to jockey for Tom Ward when he is available and both have an OK record at the track .Goodwood even at the shorter distances is a tricky track the selection has run well here in the past and has form behind the probable favourite Tiriac which suggests that the selection should turn the tables at the weights although Tiiriac has improved and Capotes Dream has merely held its form .Trainer Jack Jones has two with chances and the others are all in the mix an interesting event but Capotes will do for me on this ocassion

There has been a little bit of money around for this one and Nigel Tinkler is so canny a mongoose would run for cover the owners only seem to have the one horse with the trainer who has won once I think the ground should be OK and I think this is the first ride Saffie O has had for the trainer probably a spare as she rides an odds on one for her dad on the card the horse is inconsistent capable draw is OK this is of course one of those pick and mix sprints where you can make a case for most Musical Diva is the only other one I might like they all have chances cheers Nostradamus Sergeant Mayer sports a tongue tie maybe for the first time it may make a significant difference

I think the money was probably down last time when beaten a neck in a Class 6 at Carlisle when beaten a neck giving 8 pounds to the winner about 2 weeks ago on soft going raised 3 pounds for that class 5 today and a tough race it is either going to win or bomb trick call I just come down on the former hence a modest win bet with no huge expectations

Jim Goldie runs 3 in this and I have no real idea what the ground is given the weather conditions country wide end of season handicaps with dodgy weather are tres dodgy mediums in which to lay down the hard earned however although Spectacular Style attracts me I have landed on Spanish Hustle ridden by the excellent Kaiya Fraser taking off apparently 5 pounds I thought it was 3 but never mind and who should be neither inconvenienced by the ground or distance although James Goldie may have a different idea of the race I think at 12 t 1 it represents a value bet to a small stake
