This race has been dominated by W. Mullins and D. Skelton over the last 10 renewals, with the winner being trained 9 times from the last 10. The tip has an OK record here: 2nd in Class 2 Bumper on October 23, won Grade 2 Novice Hurdle on October 24, was 2nd over 21f in Grade 2 on November 24, but flopped after a mistake last December over CD.

In a big field like this, I'd usually go for an each way bet. But the tip has been very impressive so far in its career, winning 3 of 4 runs from 19.5f to 20.5f, including here over CD 47 days ago in class 2 on soft by 2.5L. It still has lots more improvement to come.

Equal top-rated horse here running off a mark of 166. Has only run twice in the UK, both runs in King George, romping home in 2023. Then, when looking like he'd go back to back, got pipped by Banbridge in last year's race. Both races were on good ground, and he'll probably get good to soft on Thursday, which should suit. Runs here off a mark of 130, and she's unbeaten in both of her starts over rules. Firstly, on debut, winning at Punchestown over 18.5f, ensuring stamina for today's race. Then in Grade 2 mares on soft over 16f at Leopardstown on her last run. She's getting the 7 lb allowance off her male counterparts. It's been a long while since a mare won the Champion Bumper, but she should give you a good run for your money.

Has been lightly raced this year, with only 3 runs to name. Had 2 wins on testing ground when in France but still hasn't graced the winner's enclosure in 8 runs in the UK. Had an opening mark of 125 in class 3 over CD in the first ever run in the UK and has dropped to today's mark of 100 and into class 5, which saw a 3rd placed run off 102 earlier in the season. So a placed run at double-figure odds isn't out of the question, although the odds on Sam Thomas' charge look a good thing. D. McCain's charge has B. Hughes in the plate, and the donning of first-time blinkers and the testing conditions could help in an improved run.

Has had a 115-day break since the last run, but after returning from prior breaks, has 1 placed and 2 wins under the belt. So returning fresh is a bonus as good to soft going. Being out of Presenting, better on a faster surface. Form figures before the break were awful, 2 pulled up and 9th from 11, all runs over further than today where has won over today's distance albeit at Plumpton and is only 2Lb higher than the last win at Newcastle, but with B. Sutton taking 5Lb more off.
