This could turn out to be a great match, and I would not count Murphy out. But the Magician's form has slipped in recent months after a really good start to the season, and he has only won 1 of the last 10 against Trump, who is finding form at the right time. Recently he beat Murphy in the German Masters. I am pretty sure this game will come down to long-potting success and tactics. Although both score big generally when they get in among the balls, the pockets look on the skinny side, and that may slightly favour Trump.

It is amazing that these two legends are still playing some of their best snooker at 50. Both have been in very good form. Williams blew away the in??'form Shaun Murphy in China, while Higgins reached the final stages of a few comps. In the last 20 meetings between the two, the score stands at 10 apiece. Higgins has been the more consistent this season despite running out of puff in a couple of finals. He could come out a comfortable winner.
