I didn't expect Man City to be in the title picture this season, and so far they've shown nothing to change my mind. They've struggled to defend, and although they've got a good keeper now, they still look vulnerable. That said, they still have the attacking talent to cause Man Utd problems. United have shown some good signs so far, and the way they won against Burnley with a last-minute penalty will be a boost. They've had their poor moments and shouldn't have needed that against Burnley, but they do seem to have a mentality issue where they do actually up their game for the big sides. They never seem to show fear in this fixture, even when they've been at their worst, and they've given Man City some good games recently. I expect goals here, and Man Utd's attacking talent should see them score and get a good result.

Burnley haven't been bad so far, but they have conceded 3 goals against Spurs and Manchester United. Now, you would think Liverpool should be able to at least match that. Those two scorelines were away from home, but even here, Liverpool should be winning by a 2-goal margin at least, especially now they have their man Isak.

I could have been wrong about Brentford. I thought they'd struggle, but they've actually started pretty well and still look like a decent side. Chelsea haven't looked great. They've started well enough results-wise, but there's still just something, maybe mentally, that could see them drop points in these games. Could be close.

I fancy West Ham here. Spurs showed they are still Spursy when beating Man City but losing at home to Bournemouth. West Ham started poorly, but they are improving, and before the break, they beat Forest away comfortably. I think they'll be well up for this, and although it could be close, they might just nick it.

Palace are unbeaten so far, but they've only won 1 game and, without Sarr and Wharton, could be vulnerable. This is one of those games where they could very easily slip up as they are odds-on favorites. Sunderland haven't started badly. They look as though they may have to count on their home form, but they've shown enough to suggest they can make life tough here.

Everton have started well, and Grealish is looking like a good signing. They will be hard to beat, especially at home under Moyes. With Grealish, they are an attacking threat. Maybe not banging in goals for fun, but certainly having someone who can provide that bit of something extra up there. Villa have started poorly, and looking at their team overall, you can see why. They didn't strengthen at all, which, after looking vulnerable at times last season, they should have. I do think they'll start scoring sooner rather than later with Watkins and Rogers helping them get a draw here.

It'll be interesting to see how Arsenal cope without big Saliba at the back. They didn't cope well without him when he was missing last season. They could be a little vulnerable. Forest kick off their Postecoglou era, and his style could see them score goals. That said, they have been far from solid at the back, and I'm not sure he will help that much defensively. Could be in for some high-scoring games though. I expect them to cause the hosts problems here and score, but I also see Arsenal's attacking talent being too much for Forest to keep out.

I expect Brighton to cause City problems back on home soil. City have started as I expected. They are nowhere near good enough to fight for the title. Defensively poor and not good enough in the middle of the pitch. The keeper is not doing well, and in what could be a good midfield battle, Brighton could get some joy.

We could see a closer game than expected here. Forest have started well, but this will be the first time they are heavily expected to win. In what could turn into a closely matched scrappy game, West Ham might get something. They have lost both games so far but showed more fight in midweek, losing out at Wolves in the end. That said, I think we will see them show more here and dig in.

They are capable of scoring here with some good attacking players. Whichever way this goes, both to score looks likely.

Burnley are defensively sound enough to frustrate this United side. Man Utd were embarrassed in midweek by Grimsby. They failed to turn up, couldn't be bothered, and underestimated the hosts. Tactically aside, the players should take responsibility for that performance. They were poor. With the manager now coming out and supposedly saying this will be his last game, that could have a negative effect on them here.

Sunderland haven't started badly. They won their first game at home but lost last week at Burnley. They do look like a side that will be better at home. Brentford have actually started well considering the losses to their team. They got over their defeat at Forest with a big win over Villa last week. They still have goals in them, and although their away form doesn't look like it'll be as good, they should be good enough to get a draw here.

Man Utd have started with some positives without winning. They face Grimsby for the first time since 1948 and can't afford to come away embarrassed. They need a comfortable win here, and with the likes of Cunha and Sesko expected to start, they should score a few goals. Grimsby are in good form, unbeaten so far. They have some good players, and I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see them nick a goal at home. However, Man Utd should score plenty more.

Goals look likely here. Newcastle will be a threat and at home will cause problems. Liverpool looked dangerous going forward without actually hitting their best. They have however shown signs of vulnerability at the back and that could cost them this season if they don't sort it. Going forward though they look fine and they should score at least a couple of goals here. I expect the hosts to net at least once and if they are on it, maybe more.

Could be a good game this. Newcastle will be without Isak, but they will still pose a threat to what looks like a vulnerable Liverpool defense again. Liverpool look good going forward, and Ekitike looks like a great addition to their front line. Defensively, though, they look a little bit vulnerable. Both teams scoring looks nailed on for me, and probably more goals too.

Man Utd showed plenty of positives against Arsenal. The new signings Cunha and Mbuemo caused more havoc than the whole Man Utd team from the last few seasons. They showed hunger, far more than we've seen from the likes of Rashford, Antony, and Garnacho. Sesko didn't start the game, but I expect him to be a big threat if he does here. Defensively, they were OK, but they need a keeper. He didn't do a lot wrong, just wasn't strong enough or commanding enough. They need a new one, really. Fulham showed resilience in grabbing a draw at Brighton. They do still have enough players that can cause Man Utd problems if the visitors are not mentally prepared right. But for me, the fact Man Utd have the attacking creativity and hunger, I think will see them score 2 or 3 goals here.

Brentford lost a lot in the summer, and I thought they might struggle. But I'm having second thoughts as I think there will be at least three others that struggle more. They've actually still got a decent squad and at home could be decent. Villa might not do as well as expected this season, and they got off to a boring start with a 0-0 at home to Newcastle. Man City did well to ease past Wolves last week, but this will be a tougher test. I expect Spurs to be tougher to beat under Frank. They have the players to cause problems for City, but I can see them going more defensive here, which may frustrate City. Man City will look to get Haaland in, but it'll be interesting to see how they do up against what could be a more stubborn side. It'll also be interesting to see how they cope with Spurs catching them on the counter. Could be a close game. Both sides started with wins last week, so both come into this lunchtime kickoff confident.

I'm intrigued to see how Man Utd do with their new attacking trio. I think they score goals, which is a step up from the last 2 or 3 seasons. That said, their defense could do with a bit more work, and the keeper needed changing. They could have asked for a tougher start, though, with Arsenal coming with their new signings. They've got a striker who could be just what they needed. They've strengthened in midfield and already looked good at the back. This could be a very entertaining game. Chelsea are going to be a threat going forward this season. I'm not convinced yet that they will be solid at the back, and with European football to contend with, they might not be able to quite compete with Liverpool and Arsenal. Palace will be lively as usual. They will be in high spirits after their Shield win and have so far still got their key men in the team. They will be a threat to Chelsea today, and I can see them scoring. It'll be tricky to keep Chelsea out though, especially with them being at home.

This could be close. Brentford have suffered a fair amount of losses through the summer. The manager is gone, they've lost the majority of goals and assists with Norgaard and Mbuemo both gone and Wissa nearly on his way. That said, I still expect them to start well enough as in being fairly solid overall. They may lack goals, but for today and the next few games, they might be okay. Forest have at least managed to keep Gibbs-White and Odoi, and overall they've looked decent. They might not hit the heights of last season, but I expect them to be top half comfortably. Today could be a close game with players from both sides settling and getting back to fitness still. Forest are the more dangerous side going forward, but I think Brentford will look to at least avoid defeat in this opener.

Man City haven't replaced De Bruyne, I don't think. Although they have Haaland and Marmoush for the goals, overall they still look vulnerable at the back, and I can't see them winning the title. Wolves could be vulnerable at the back. I think they'll be a threat going forward at times, especially at set pieces, but may struggle overall this season. I can see them scoring here at home, and although it'll be a challenge stopping City from scoring, it could be closer than the odds suggest.

These two are expected to finish fairly close together in the league, and I can see them playing out a draw here. Villa have lost a couple of players, but they've managed to keep Watkins so far. That said, they were poor at times last season, and they've not really added to the squad with any significance. Newcastle might have had a poor pre-season, but not much can be taken from that. It's about getting your fitness levels back. They've not signed enough for me, but Elanga is a decent addition. They've lost Isak, and unless they sign some more players, they will struggle later in the season. For now, though, they should be good enough to at least get a draw in this lunchtime kick-off.

Liverpool might not have got the striker they've wanted yet, but they've made some good signings so far. I do think they'll concede goals this season, which makes me favor Arsenal for the title. However, coming up against Bournemouth is a good start for them. The visitors aren't going to be as hard to beat or dangerous this season as they've lost their defense and, with injuries, look like a side that will be struggling down the bottom end. I can see Liverpool winning this and by a couple of goals at least.
