A lot to like about the belated third-placed return at Wetherby and he's drifted out to a nice price. The ground originally was a concern, but it's now dried out and, with one of the best amateur jocks booked, hopefully he go close.

MANCERO really caught the eye when a never-nearer fourth at Wincanton at the start of this month, easily doing best of those who were held up. It was a bit of a joke as the winner set his own fractions out in front and turned it into a half-mile dash. The four-year-old will need to back that up here, but a further 2lb drop in the ratings can only help and he's a big enough price to chance in what looks a very winnable contest.

Improved for more positive tactics when finishing second over C&D last month and a 1lb rise is more than fair, particularly with Bellamy taking over from a conditional. Better chance than most and just one I want to keep on side now she's drifted.

COULD BE YOU's point-to-point isn't too shabby and he debuted under Rules with a promising third at Lingfield in mid-December. The six-year-old certainly wasn't knocked about and he duly went through the motions on three relatively quick turnarounds, suggesting that handicaps were always going to be his bag. He's since moved to Neil Mulholland, which is a good switch of yards in my book, with early support and Jack Tudor (1-1 this season) suggesting that an improved bid is on the cards.

There was a lot to like about NOSY NEIGHBOUR's second-placed handicap bow at Newcastle, just given a bit too much to do against the reopposing winner. The five-year-old is 3lb better off with the current favourite and he's open to more improvement on just his fifth outing under Rules. Cheekpieces are also enlisted for the first time and the stable are probably in the best shape they've been this season. Obvious choice at the current 15/2.

Arrives on the back of a strong second to a subsequent winner at Hereford, who subsequently laughed at his rivals at Newton Abbot. The seven-year-old is still novicey over his fences, that just his second outing over fences under Rules, and he gave ground away jumping slightly to his left. You like to think that racing on a left-handed track will save him some ground and he's effectively 1lb lower with Pritchard on board claiming 3lb.

Fair to say that you could pick half the field in here and not get the winner, but PECKFORTON does stand out at the current prices. He's improved with each run since entering handicap company and they waste little time in sending him over fences here. The slight ease in trip looks ideal and there isn't any reason why he won't improve for this discipline.

This was one of Olly Murphy’s horses to follow last season and he duly obliged with a cosy victory on his hurdle bow at Warwick. The seven-year-old subsequently picked up an injury and they were hoping to get him out just after Xmas, with the aim of taking a crack at the Swinton. Clearly they are running out of time to get him in there for next month, so hopefully they won’t be wasting any time. I am convinced he could be 130+ and hopefully he can overcome his inexperience and win off 120 here.

This was originally 9/2 but has gone on an alarming drift, perhaps because the stable are a bit quiet at present. Still, he scored with something in hand at Muss last time and I dont think an 8lb rise should stop him from being competitive. Had a little place to cover the win stake.

BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS looked one to follow when securing a first hurdle triumph over 2m7f at Lingfield in December. The seven-year-old still travelled well on his next two outings, but he just didn't see it out. A subsequent wind procedure could be really beneficial and I'm convinced there is a race in him off his current mark, particularly in this weak affair.

Given a really aggressive ride when making all on his bumper win here and caught the eye throughout his qualifying runs over hurdles, particularly last time when staying on from the rear to finish behind two useful sorts at Wetherby. You have to respect the hat-trick seeking Rap Sheet, but the quicker ground and further 6lb rise in the ratings is enough to take him on. I'm going for a dutch, starting with GORCOMBE MOONSHINE, who gained his sole triumph here. The nine-year-old returned from a 284-day layoff to finish second at Hereford last month, where he only gave way after the last. He races off an unaltered mark and looks a decent E/W shot against the favourite.

Second part of a dutch. With a win and a second to his name at this venue last season, WELLWILLYA did little wrong on his second-placed reappearance at Exeter last month. Obvious chance racing off the same mark, and any improvement should see him involved once more.

I thought there were plenty of positives to be taken from her second-placed chase bow at Taunton, just unlucky to bump into a horse rejuvenated by first-time cheekpieces. There are question marks surrounding the others at the forefront of the market, whether that be the quick ground, wellbeing, or their scope for chasing. Moreover, the yard always seem to excel with their runners here and any improvement should see PRAIRIE QUEEN going very close.

Fitness has to be taken on trust, although he does usually run well when fresh. Reapplied cheekpieces suggest that hopefully he’s ready to roll and a repeat of his close-up second behind a subsequent winner at Uttoxeter in September would see him go very close.

I put this up when winning at Huntingdon, was value for further after making a bad mistake at the last. He subsequently jumped well on his fourth-placed chase bow at Taunton, but the quick turnaround may have caused him to finish weakly. The six-year-old is unexposed and was easily who I feared most, worth something on after drifting out from 2/1.

I really fancy ANGEL’S DREAM to go close here. He looked poised to play a part over C&D last time but for a terrible blunder at the fourth-last fence and he was given an easy time after that. That form is decent, with the runner-up scoring today at Huntingdon. The stable are absolutely flying at present and the eight-year-old has a big chance if putting in a clean round of jumping.

I was surprised that they persevered over fences as it was such a tough watch, she made so many mistakes. If you look back at JACKELINE's hurdle form, it is really strong, particularly the close-up third at Chepstow behind two subsequent winners. The seven-year-old is now 4lb lower than that effort and she has a big chance reverting to timber if chasing hasn’t soured her.

Given a lot to do on his handicap bow over an inadequate 2m at Ayr and looks like he was being saved for another day. Sean Bowen obviously catches the eye on his first ride for the yard and hopefully the five-year-old won't take much steering now faced with a greater emphasis on stamina.

KYNTARA started off this season with perfectly respectable efforts at Aintree and Cheltenham, but he does have something to prove after his last three outings. I actually thought he was being prepped for the Final tomorrow at Haydock, but they've decided on this long journey north instead. The 10-year-old is on a cracking mark, particularly with Darren Andrews' 7lb claim and hopefully the return of cheekpieces can spark his interests.

ROARING HOME has been running well in class 4 company this season and can definitely pick up a race at this lower level. Really interesting stable-changer given how well the trainer has improved similar sorts from the same yard (up to 20lb). I'm not sure if the seven-year-old wanted the recent rain or how fit he is on his belated comeback, but there has been some support for him in the past hour or so, which is certainly no negative. He scored on this card last year and looked progressive before tailing off at Newton Abbot in July. Although the eight-year-old has been at the rear on ground softer than ideal in all three outings this year, he is effectively 1 lb lower than his last victory and 8 lb below his good second at Newton Abbot in June. Hopefully they revert to front-running tactics on this better ground, and the books are being silly to start him at such a big price.
