I'm pretty sure that the fifth-placed reappearance over an inadequate 1m2f at Lingfield 20 days ago was to blow away the cobwebs, and she has plenty in her favour here. The extra two furlongs and drop into class 6 company are big pluses, and this new trainer has started to hit top form. I guess the only question mark is Tapeta instead of Polytrack, but the six-year-old is big enough to chance.

He lost his way towards the end of last year's campaign, but did get some nice respite from the handicapper. There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from his sixth-placed reappearance over an inadequate 6f at Thirsk earlier this month and, off effectively 5lb lower here, I think he has a cracking chance over this extra furlong.

Got some decent Class 2 Handicap Hurdle form in the book, and he has to be of strong interest dropping in class.

There was enough encouragement to be taken from her fifth-placed stable bow over an inadequate 2m at Stratford 23 days ago to suggest that a race of this nature is within her compass. I wouldn't read too much into her previous point-to-point exploits as she is tiny and reverting to today's 3m distance is sure to see the daughter of Getaway in a better light. Matt Sheppard is enjoying his best ever season and, although it's entirely possible she is too useless to ever win, I'm hopeful that we will see her true ability.
