Personally, I would have this as my favorite. Already finished six lengths ahead of current favorite Tropical Speed (third) when runner-up at Worcester in early July. Given a wind procedure since his subsequent third at that same venue, and first-time cheekpieces can help eke some improvement out too.

Scored on his penultimate outing over 2m here and subsequently looked to do too much in a class 2 at Perth. This is actually his first run beyond 2m1f since racing under the tutelage of Olly Murphy in May last year, but I think the seven-year-old wants this longer trip and could improve for it.

This has a pretty obvious chance. 6lb better off with re-opposing second Dexter when finishing two lengths behind in third over C&D in July, and the veteran ran another sound race when fourth at Worcester last month. Micky Hammond's charge is more solid than most and should give his running once more.

Although this has drifted out from 4/1, I still want to give him a go as he recorded some decent efforts in Ireland last season. Last month's seasonal reappearance was okay and hopefully the nine-year-old will have come on for the run. 9/1 at present.

Going for a dutch. This one has shaped encouragingly since stepping up in distance and the drop to 2m4f looks ideal, particularly on some better ground. Aaron Anderson takes off a handy 5lb, so the four-year-old is effectively 6lb lower than his latest third at Cartmel.

Not quite recaptured her best form over hurdles last season, but she has certainly run well enough on all three chase starts in Ireland to suggest that a race of this nature is within her compass. Her mark on the other side of the Irish Sea looks more workable to me and hopefully this smaller field will be easier to dominate, more so stepping up in trip.

I don't think you can fault her last two performances over C&D. Last time, separating two really progressive rivals in Turpin Gold (subsequent winner) and Diesel Line. Obviously the big question is can she reverse the form with reopposing winner Jet Patrol, but she got blocked in that day and hopefully an 8lb pull with some luck could be enough for the six-year-old to exact her revenge.

Nothing wrong with the latest second behind a subsequent winner and Charlie Maggs takes off a handy 5lb. I like to think that she will have her work cut out against Tranquil Sea (main fancy), but this 10-year-old has a better chance than most.

Has shown more verve since returning from a 63-day break, only beaten under seven lengths on his latest start over C&D. I don't think he got the best of passages and a 2lb drop from the assessor could prove to be lenient. The yard usually start to really fire at this time of the season and he's just too big a price in this small-field affair.

Opened her account over 1m2f on heavy ground at Bath last October and the drop to 1m counted against her on her nursery bow later that month. She was only beaten a length by reopposing winner Premier that day, who I believe is far too keen to see out this 1m2f distance. Marcus Tregoning's filly was easy to back on her fifth-placed reappearance at Sandown in July, but she still shaped with credit on ground quicker than ideal. With significant rain due up until race time, conditions could swing in her favour and I think we will see a big performance.

She did as well as expected reverting to maiden company when finishing third on her stable bow at Market Rasen 15 days ago. The six-year-old certainly wasn't knocked about and enjoys a 26lb pull with reopposing runner-up Last Note, who is favourite. Max Comley has his string in good order at present and this price is absolutely nuts.

Will go for a dutch in here and starting with HICONIC, who looks to have a decent chance. Having returned to form with a decent third in a 0-120 at Uttoxeter, she makes plenty of appeal racing off an unchanged mark in a 0-110. She rarely runs a bad race here and hopefully the addition of first-time cheekpieces can eke out some improvement.

There really was nothing wrong with her form when we last saw her in 2024, and she would have a really good chance of securing a second career victory if returning at the same level. That is the big question after a 417-day layoff, but I like the fact that she is reappearing over the C&D of her sole triumph, and she won't mind any forecast rain, which could pose an issue for the remainder. Saver on Hold Onto The Line at 9/2 as Olly Murphy should be improving him.

He tends to save his best for this venue and I really think he needs 20f in the latter stages of his career. I think this has drifted out to such a crazy price. Literally, the whole field struggled last time out at Market Rasen as they had about 40mm of rain in 30 minutes, and the ground turned to heavy. Previous to that, the eight-year-old had displayed the benefit of a wind procedure, with a victory and runner-up effort at that track. I still believe Philip Kirby's mare is on a workable mark, and she has run well over C&D in the past, which counts for a lot at this venue. You can certainly find worse 22/1 shots with 5 places!

Having been poorly placed off a sedate gallop when finishing fifth in the Crystal Cup over C&D 37 days ago, that marked a return to form for CITY DERBY. A drop into 0-115 company should only help the nine-year-old and he's entitled to build on that first run since undergoing a wind procedure at the start of that month.
