The sole mount of Sean Kirrane at tonight's meeting, he has ground to make up on Gilet from their run behind Brasil Power over tonight's course and distance, but he's three pounds better off with that rival, and that should be enough to turn the tables.

Mark has fallen fifteen pounds in the meantime, however, and he showed a welcome return to form when staying on for second over five furlongs at Wolverhampton last month. That was his third outing for his new handler following a change of stable in November. The return to six furlongs should suit.

Jazzy Matty was runner-up in this race last year and could go well again, but may once again have to play second fiddle to Garrybello. A two-time winner in France over hurdles, the gelding has had mixed results in all codes since joining his current handler. He has had only two runs on the level since he was seen over hurdles, when finishing third, beaten only three lengths at Killarney in May 2024. He runs off a three-pound lower mark today, and although fitness has to be taken on trust, the booking of Jack Kennedy to ride is eye-catching, having won on his only previous ride for the stable.

He had his first run over today's course and distance for three years when never threatening last month. He was far from disgraced, however, beaten less than seven lengths, and he's three pounds lower today. I can't imagine there are many horses of his age and experience that have headgear fitted for the first time, but it could sharpen up his ideas sufficiently that he gets involved today.

One of three runners for trainer Dan Skelton, and the stable's main jockey's, brother Harry and Tristan Durell ride the other two. It's not surprise however that he elects to put up Harry Atkins aboard Knickerbockerglory as the gelding runs off a career high mark, and the rider's seven pounds claim could prove invaluable. Lightly raced for his age and ultra consistent, and more or less guaranteed to give it everything he's got.
