He hasn't won since his juvenile days and looked out of sorts throughout last year. He fared no better over today's course and distance last month but gave away plenty of ground racing wide and only succumbed in the latter stages. Today he's well drawn for a horse that likes to race up with the pace, and he races off a career-low mark. He hasn't won a handicap, but on his Southwell second off 83 in March 2024 and a York fourth off 79 the following September, he's thrown in off today's mark of 56. Of course, the same could be said on several occasions as his mark has been in freefall, but there were signs of a revival last time, however faint.
