Scandinavia never went the Derby route like his stablemate Lambourn, who won both the British and Irish in good fashion. He was only fifth on the last run at York. The two Derbys may have left a mark, but Aiden O'Brien must be happy with this one to be lining up with Sean Levey in the plate. Tom Marquand has the ride on Scandinavia, who looks to have the stamina and gears to see a St Leger trip out well, as he showed at Goodwood with stamina for two miles and winning before this at Newmarket over thirteen furlongs with speed. With this in his pedigree, being by Justify and dam sire being Galileo, he looks a force to contend with.

Kieran Shoemark can be holding his mount together, which can see a big run appearing, knowing conditions can play fine to this Night Of Thunder-sired gelding, who is related to Dark Angel through dam sire. Ten Bob Tony's win was 105 days ago, and it looks like he is a horse that can run well fresh, which Ed Walker would have brought him to the boil for a tilt at this.

Sunderland have warmed to their task of Premiership football with two wins and a loss. They venture to Selhurst Park to meet a team that is proving they can be a top seven contender come the end of the season. Crystal Palace put in plenty of hard work and defend pretty well, but the finishing product can be missing. This can lead them not to losing but achieving a point from a draw, which they should have won.

Both of these Scottish Premiership sides have not won but drawn games with Motherwell in games that contributed to well over 2.5 goals. He could be making his presence felt against Dundee and achieve their first win of the season.
15:00 Falkirk v St Mirren

Falkirk

Falkirk at home may be able to produce the play that can see them rise to the occasion and achieve a win over St Mirren with Scottish striker Ross MacIver, either scoring the first goal or scoring in a game that may see more than two goals, with players feeling fresh and well after the international break.
15:00 Newcastle v Wolverhampton

Newcastle

Wolves do not strike out a club that can find an advantage from this game inside St James' Park. This could see The Magpies enjoying the riches of all three points with a victory that sees them scoring in both halves and over 2.5 goals.

Rangers are really clicking this season, which has seen them drawing all four Premiership matches. Hearts come to Ibrox looking like a confident side as they are in second place without losing from their four games played, scoring ten goals. Rangers have got into a habit of passing the ball around their own penalty box and are not quick enough to get into attack. This can see players like Portuguese striker Claudio Braga for Hearts exploiting this and scoring, leading to three points for Hearts, with Rangers baiting for Russell Martin's head.

What a price for this Chester Plate winner in May! He won at 9/1 from stall four despite being slow away. He is drawn in stall eleven, and like back in May, he was not really fancied to run a big race, winning at 9/1. Today, he is double those odds, with winning jockey Duran Fentiman being retained once more. Conditions look ideal, and his mark of 81 looks feasible as he won off 79. But that day, he was carrying 9-11; today, he has 8-4. The two times that Tim Easterby has raced him here, he has done so with distinction, winning and being second. He acts well around here and can make his presence felt.

Gewan

Daily Racing

Gewan is joint favourite with Oxagon, and Oxagon was fifth to Distant Storm at Newmarket on his debut outing before running amok with a seven-length victory at Sandown with Luke Cotton in the saddle. Form-wise, everything reads well for Gewan to get the better of Oxagon, with Gewan beating Distant Storm by nearly five lengths. Really, Andrew Balding and P J McDonald have five-plus lengths in hand over the Gosdens and Oisin Murphy-trained Frankel colt. The only way I can see Gewan getting beat is if he cannot travel over this surface but needs good to firm to be at his best. Personally, I cannot see this. Big race is on. 6/4 should be taken as ITV opening show, and Tipping Tom has highlighted this horse.

Cash does look an each-way play with Jamie Spencer in the saddle, with the view that a 101 rating gives good vibes with the handicapper easing him down. He was down the field at Goodwood last time out. He may be more at home on this flat track than the undulations of the South Downs race course and can be putting in some good work at the finish. It would be good to see him chasing home Galeron for the forecast.

Galeron, trained by Charlie Hills, is going through a lean spell. Top Irish jockey Colin Keane is back in the saddle after Mickael Barzalona was in the saddle when last at Ascot, and Robert Havlin was fifth with the last run at Sandown. Galeron started out with Charlie Hills, then left, and now is back. He is not the most consistent of horses with two wins from twenty-nine third races and never won in eleven runs on all-weather. I am hoping that this good to soft ground can bring the best out of Galeron, being a Camacho-sired gelding, and on a mark of 94 sounds out a positive angle.

12:30 Arsenal v Nottm Forest

Arsenal

After the international break, Arsenal could have players that are fresh and have not played for their countries. This can see them at their best and defeating Nottingham Forest with goals in each half, with a couple of goals, plus keeping Forest at bay without conceding.

12:30 Oxford Utd v Leicester

Leicester

What I have seen of Leicester City this season in the Championship, they can be proving their worth with staying within a chance of promotion come the end of the season. After four games played, winning three, they look to have the potential of obtaining three points at Oxford United. That can add to the wins over Birmingham and Charlton, which they kept a clean sheet against. They may be making it another ninety minutes of play without conceding.

Ipswich Town, who were relegated to the Championship, look to not have come to terms with the view of being back in the Championship and started this season off like they were in the Premiership without winning. Sheffield United, who lost out in the playoff finals to Sunderland for promotion, must be feeling the effects of last season with them being bottom of the Championship also without winning. Ray might have been in contact with Ryan to ask how the colt travels and when to commit to be a powerhouse at the finish. Peel Park looks to be progressing with form figures that read 4-3-1, with the win appearing at Yarmouth in what might be a useful maiden with him staying on well at the finish. This was over today's trip of six furlongs. Connections moved him up to seven furlongs last time out in the Mews Hotel Ossett EBF Stallions Nursery Handicap, but it looked as if he did not stay. Sir Mark Prescott is a trainer who has been around for years. Remember George Duffield riding for him? Luke Morris, who won the Arc for Sir Mark, could be sounding a big run with this in-form filly who is by Golden Horn, Derby winner, and dam sire Lawman, a very good mile and ten-furlong winner, who was by Gulch. The pedigree speaks loudly. She has won four of her five races this season and looks like a filly on the up. She only won six days ago at Thirsk, and she must be thriving with the quick turnaround. She has a six-pound penalty, which connections must think she can carry off with distinction and not have an apprentice on board to cancel out this burden. A big run looks plausible.

Back in 2022, he missed engagements due to a vet certificate. Not been a well horse, but now with what allergy was affecting him behind him, he can give a decent show here. With stamina in abundance, being a son of Nathaniel and related to Galileo, he may have a good stride on him that jockey P J McDonald can put to good use to be a big player here.

I do like Good Show at a price to be interesting here, but Sir Mark Prescott's three-year-old, Synergism, cannot be ignored with such a lightweight and has a progressive look about him. Luke Morris has struck up a chord with this Soldier Hollow-sired gelding, with three wins and a second on a recent run at Newcastle, where he carried his head awkwardly, possibly due to the kickback.
