With my original pick having been taken out, I had to go for this one. He has not been disgraced in all three runs so far over 7??"8f on both turf and the A/W. He was fourth in both races over 7f on turf, staying on late. Despite finishing third over 8f on the A/W, the turf runs looked better. He goes back up to 8f on turf, with Rossa Ryan taking over, which could see his first win in his first handicap.

This is a meeting of small-runner races. Although there are only five runners in this, I found it hard to pick the winner. I have gone for the outsider No No Fizz, who won over C/D two back off 104 and is only 3 lb higher after a lesser run at Uttoxeter last time. He is not the most consistent but does like it here and is worth another chance.

Every time I look at this race, I cannot get this one out of my head. He has form of 2-1-1-2 over the bare 7f and 8-4 over this trip more recently, but off higher marks. His current mark of 103 is only 3 lb higher than his last win here and 4 lb lower than his following second. That form and current mark deserve respect, and an each-way bet at 33/1 over this trip.

This one has gone a bit negative in the betting but is 2 for 2 so far at Musselburgh for this team. He won by 7L on debut, and although only by a neck last time, he was always doing enough in this grade. I always say that course form here is important and this one was 2nd over 16f on his only run here on debut. He gradually improved with racing and stepping up.in trip to win back to back races over 25.2f at Hereford. Not as good since off higher marks and was just over 5L behind The Boola Boss at Chepstow last time. He returns here with James Bowen back up and could reverse form being 5lb better off.

Trap 6 could either follow trap 4 around or even lead if that one fluffs her lines. His last win was in A4 in a fast competitive time and now drops back into this company after a few races in A3 with no luck. He is a former back to back A2 winner and has recorded times under 29 seconds. If returning to that form and barring a bump trap 6 looks a big price at 7/2.

Stable returned to form with a bang yesterday, giving me a 40/1 winner at Cork, and they followed with a winner at Sligo. This one is still a maiden but hasn't been totally disgraced on both the flat and over hurdles. A mark of 97 on handicap debut might be tough, but given the stable's recent form, a chance is given on handicap debut for at least a place..

Both of these players are worthy finalists and are in cracking form. I think that Shaun could go on to claim the title, provided he doesn't make those silly mistakes by playing the wrong shots. John Higgins was given numerous openings and took full advantage, going on to 4-4 in the first session instead of a possible 7-1 down. I am sure that Wu will also take full advantage if he does make mistakes, but Shaun has been here and got the T-shirt, so he is the pick to win.

If Shaun can keep those mistakes and what I consider wrong shot selection to a minimum, he could win the championship. He has been here and done it in the past and has had a harder path through.
