Hard to not see Switzerland win here, and I think they'll do so with a clean sheet. Unfortunately, Qatar do not have the quality to really hurt Switzerland, who are plenty experienced on the international stage.

Although Switzerland have shown that they are capable of conceding goals in the most recent friendlies, I struggle to see where the goal would come from for Qatar. I feel they lack the firepower to really hurt an experienced Switzerland side.

They come into this tournament in fairly good form, putting up competitive performances against strong European opposition. Paraguay are defensively resolute, but some late injuries to key players perhaps weaken their goal output at the other end.

Canada, as a host nation, will want to get off to a good start in a group that could see many fixtures quite tightly matched in scoreline. I think Canada's firepower and youth will just edge them here over a newly rebuilt Bosnia team that perhaps are lacking experience with players like Džeko not around anymore.

Canada have the better attack, but Bosnia won't go down without a fight and certainly have a goal in them. I'm predicting Canada to open the scoring in the first half, which will make for a more open, end-to-end second half.

Everyone is expecting a South Korea win here, probably because of the notable names and the infamous victory in 2018 over Germany. I am expecting a tight match, and Czechia are not to be underestimated. I believe they have a goal in them.

I can see a tight, even affair for the first group game between South Korea and Czechia. Neither side will want to lose, and I think whoever scores first will try to hold on to a 1-0 win but will not be successful.

Mexico, as the shared host nation, is a footballing country likely to kick off the 2026 World Cup with a victory. Mexico comes into the tournament in good form and, at their home stadium in front of their fans, I can only see a win for Mexico.

A bit of an outside punt at 26 odds, but Johan Vásquez comes into this tie recently scoring goals. I could see what might be a quite cagey first match being broken by a set-piece goal.
