Two starts back, he finished fourth behind the aforementioned horse and a couple of next-time-out winners. That form looks solid, and with the ground being very testing today, he should be seen to good effect. He has to give weight to all but one of his rivals today, and while he is on a 22-race losing streak, he has dropped well below that last winning mark of 119 and looks well treated at the age of 9.

CONCERT BOY is a model of consistency in these low-class affairs. His form figures over the last five starts read 23122, all recorded at this track. He has had 18 starts this year, winning three times and placing a further nine times. His most recent win came off a mark of 52. That was three starts back, and his subsequent back-to-back seconds to Aisling Oscar off a mark of 54 is very solid form for this Class 6 company. His penultimate start saw him go down by only a neck, and that came over today’s track and trip. Whilst three of his four career wins have come over 7f, he is by no means inconvenienced by the step back up to the mile today. Darragh Keenan gets aboard this 5-year-old for the first time in nine starts. His partnership with this gelding is a positive one, with form figures reading 121524. He appears to have a big chance again today and can give this one his fifth career success at this track.

Of those with experience in this field, YY Spirit sets the benchmark with an official rating of 73. That may not be enough to stop the newcomer GET AN ATTITUDE winning on debut. This 2-year-old filly is a daughter of No Nay Never and related to Exceed And Excel. She cost €145,000 as a foal, and they will likely have much loftier ambitions than this going forward. Trainer Karl Burke has an excellent record with 2-year-olds, showing a strike rate of 26.67% (255 runners, 68 winners, 43 placed) and a level-stakes profit of +14.35 over the past 12 months. This looks like a good opportunity to record a first-time-out win for this filly in what is a weak-looking novice stakes for fillies.

The last two efforts have seen her beaten by only half a length, having been caught late on both occasions. She is a go-forward type who will benefit from being drawn in gate four, as most of the pace is to her outside. This will be her first start on Polytrack, but she looks a versatile sort with regard to the surface, and the step back up to 6f today looks ideal. Billy Loughnane gets aboard this filly for only the second time, and his form has been very strong of late, with 19 wins and 19 placed efforts from 77 rides over the past 14 days. Topping the ratings for this renewal of the Grade 1 Tingle Creek is IL ETAIT TEMPS, having won the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase by 18 lengths on his seasonal reappearance last month. That came off the back of an impressive debut season over fences last time around, which concluded with a 5½-length beating of Jonbon over course and distance. That form can be franked today, with the latter looking more vulnerable than he has in the past, and his jumping looks much less assured. In contrast, the selection has looked natural over fences, and at seven years of age, there appears to be improvement to come in his second season over fences. He is better suited by quicker ground but is a versatile sort, and it would not be a major negative if the forecasted rain does fall. The current price of Evens looks more than fair, with late market support likely to send him off odds-on.

Trainer Ross O’Sullivan has five runners today, four of which are at Navan. His best chance today is with BIBE MUS on a rare visit to UK shores. The Irish trainer has only had seven runners at Aintree, of which he has had one winner and one placed (LSP = +2.00). This flat-bred gelding is a very nice sort, being a son of Camelot out of a daughter of Dansili. He won his maiden on the flat over 1m2f when trained over in France. He started on the flat for this yard but disappointed on two starts in handicap company. However, the switch to hurdling has made all the difference, and he was a winner at Gowran on his first start over timber. Whilst 9½ lengths back in third last time, the form of that race has worked out well, with the winner (Mange Tout) winning a Grade 3 next time out and the fourth (Sopelana) winning at Punchestown last month. He likes cut in the ground, so he should be suited by the conditions today. James Bowen gets aboard for the first time today, which is no negative. There is plenty to like about this improving 3-year-old.

This market revolves around the unbeaten Sober Glory, who is four from four and was mightily impressive on hurdle debut last time out. However, this is no easy task, and at the current prices, it could be worth taking him on. Of the others, HURRICANE PAT makes the most appeal. This son of Kalinisi started in a couple of Irish point-to-points. He is 3 from 4 under rules and was a ready winner of a maiden hurdle over C&D last time out. The form of that race may not be that strong, and he will need to show more now in Listed company, but he was not asked for much that day, and there is likely to be plenty more to come from this five-year-old. He has a clear liking for this track, having won on two of his three starts here. Those two wins came on good to soft (good in places). It appears that he will face more testing ground today, which may not be ideal. However, he has shown plenty of ability, and at the current price he offers good each-way value against the odds-on favourite.
