Global Effort at around 11/1 offers each way value here again. Seems to run here often and in a poor race has a decent claim. Won here in June off a 6lbs higher mark, so has to be thereabouts with a decent run. Has a good draw if the jockey wants to use that as well. E/way bet.

Been running 4 times in better class maidens than today and has been beaten from 2-4.5 lengths in those previous, so experience should come to the fore here. Appleby favorite on debut has to be respected, but to win this over my tip will need to be a very decent maiden. Too short for me, the favorite.

Tip: Been running over 12f or thereabouts in the last 6 runs. But go back to June 2023 - August 2023, won off marks 67, 70, and 73. Today off 68, so is really on a winnable handicap mark. Seems to me as this trip is better than over the longer 12f. Hayley Turner won at this track and trip off the 67 mark. If she can do that again today, 9/2 NAP BET.

Blewburton was beaten by the favorite in a 10k Sandown handicap and does not really get enough at the weights to turn that around. But I think looking back, this is the better horse if he handles this track and surface. Same for the favorite. The tip was 3rd in a 16k class 2 maiden first run up at Leicester, and that is the best on show. I expect improvement today and the win.

The tip has gone downhill since running on turf around 6 times over the summer. But looking into form, it is much better on the all-weather, albeit at Dundalk. If running anywhere near what was shown early in January to March 2024, it will win this. Zak Wheatley takes a further 3 lbs off a horse that is already down 16 lbs since March 2024.

Shaka, my idea of a winner here finished 2nd here. C/distance was beat just over 1l and dropped 2 pounds since. 5lb claimer as jockey, so has to go close. So I am going to nap. Looking through the field, the favorite won here last race, up a little in weight, and stepping down to 7F from 8F does not do it for me.

Only has the 1 run and beat 8L in a slightly better grade. The other short-priced runner has run 2 times in this grade, beat around 8L first run, then just 1L over the 2nd run. My tip, I feel, on breeding, will be much better over this 11f longer trip today. This should also suit the other horse on debut, but there is no form line as yet and long odds.

I am taking Jump The Gun to at least hit the frame in this quite decent handicap. Ran well here a few times, stepping up 1 furlong today for the first time, I think at 7f. 16 lbs lower than last win at track. 3 lbs claimer also helps. Add to that, it's just the distance I am hoping will suit. Iain Jardine, shrewd trainer, helps.

For me, the favorite won the last 2 races but is better over 5f. Today it's 6f. I may well be proved wrong, but I like the chance of Jimmy Knocker as he has only run 1 time in a handicap at the trip. He was beaten by 4.5L on that run but dropped 2lbs and should at least improve again today. The price is very good for the chance, 13/2.

I can only see a Celtic win and do think they can win both halves of today's match. They, at the moment, are better than Rangers, who did put up a good show in a 3-3 draw at Celtic Park. But Rangers are not putting in that performance week in, week out in the league.
