He runs off the same mark here and is effective over 7 and 8 furlongs. He is not ruled out returning to this course. This looks a good opportunity with today's conditions. He can go close if repeating his recent level of form.

Ballyfort appeals as a solid option. On his last winning mark he returned to form when landing a handicap by 1½ lengths off a 3 lb lower mark. He acts on soft and good ground, remains well treated on hurdle form, and is capable of better over fences. The conditions look suitable, and the race should set up well for him. He shouldn't be far away if delivering his usual effort.

Shoeshine Boy is an interesting contender. He ran to form, showing a willing attitude when landing a handicap by 1¼ lengths off a 4 lb lower mark here last time. Effective at 3m and suited by plenty of cut, he remains on a fair mark after returning to form. This looks a reasonable opportunity given today's conditions. He looks a genuine contender on balance.
