Straight match between Matchless and Belvedere Blast. Belvedere Blast is proven at the trip whereas Matchless is stepping up. Looks like the extra 2+ furlongs should be ok, he's been stepping up distance slowly, settles well and was strong over 2m4f+ last time at Southwell.

Just ran out of steam in the last half furlong over 1m2f at Newmarket 6 weeks ago. Today's 1m1f looks ideal. Can and will probably lead (no obvious front runner) and with Ryan Moore on board, this is a big plus. Should be clear favorite.

No match for Delacroix at Leopardstown in last month's Derby trail, so on the face of it, he has no chance. However, that was his first run of the season and over 1m2f. Today is 1m4f, and that will suit much better. He will have no problem with the trip after winning over 1m2f on heavy ground as a 2yo. Many of today's runners are not guaranteed to get the trip, so as the pace increases as they come down the hill 5f out, Tennessee may get outpaced but will be staying on at the finish to grab a place.

Big question mark over her stamina. Will she stay 1m4f? On pedigree, it's a stretch, but she stayed a mile as a 2yo, so that gives a bit of hope. The same stamina doubts can be said for many of the others - not many will get this trip on breeding. Desert may have to rely on her class to get this done as she's well ahead of everything else on ratings. A couple like to lead, so Desert is likely to drop in behind the leaders, cruise until as late as possible, and then use her speed to kick on and hope to last out.

Has been coming down the weights over the last year and ran well on her reappearance at Beverley three weeks ago. Slowly away, looked to stumble after a furlong, didn’t get a good run and then eased when beaten. She was 2nd in the Dash on Derby day last year, so has the speed and now looks on a winning mark.

The run at Newcastle in April is the standout form here, 4l+ behind the winner but in a very fast time compared to the rest of the card. Usually travels well and can lead or drop in behind the leaders. A lot will depend on how he breaks from the stalls, can be a bit slow away, but if he breaks well and gets towards the front, he has a big chance. Sizandahalf has a big chance based on hurdle form.

Has looked impressive in his last two runs, showing a good turn of foot in the last furlong in bunch finishes. Only up 2lb for a neck win last time out and prior to that he was unlucky when the gap came too late and was third. Reigning Profit is on a three timer and is a big danger.

Reasonable that My Cloud is favorite, but Evens is a bit short. He won an All-Weather Class 5 by 13 lengths, then followed up with a 3+ length win in a Class 3. In both, the times of those races were nothing to shout about when compared to the other races on the cards. Today is a Class 2, and he takes on seasoned milers, so he will find this tougher. The race here five weeks ago looks to be the key to this - won by Ebt's Guard with Classic third, beaten by a closing one and a half lengths. Classic is 4lb better off and should reverse that form.

Fourth in the Sheema Classic in Dubai six weeks ago (1m4f) in a top-class field. He's never been further than 1m4f, but he settles well, can lead or just be off the leaders, so another 2f should be fine. He's a 1m4f horse going up in trip whereas the others are two-milers coming back. Add in that Rebel's a globe-trotting Group 1 performer that usually wins, I'm not sure why he isn't 4/6 fav here.

Has to be the value here. Fifth in the 2,000 Guineas and should be better suited by this 1m2f+. Will the Lion In Winter be 100% considering the target is the Derby in three weeks? Can't see Wimbledon being out of the places and may just nick it.

Stepped up to 1m6f for the first run of the season 5 weeks ago at Gowran. Second that day and was running on which means the 1m6f today will not be a problem. He was running over shorter distances last season in Group races and got within 7l of Economics in the Dante this time last year. Comic Book is the only danger but needs the ground to be soft.
