You have to take fitness as a given with all of these having their first run after a break. A 7-y-o with scope for improvement and get a bit of weight from the main players. 2m4f is fine, he does stay further, and the soft ground will also be fine.

Dropping down in class to a Class 4 after running in, mainly, Class 2. Ran on really well at Ayr last month (class 2 over 1m2f). Today's soft ground should be ok (has won on soft previously). Whatsgoingonmarvin is a danger but has a lot of weight.

Class horse in the race and will be race fit after runs on the flat, most recent being mid-September. Drops down in grade here with the others stepping up. No obvious front runner in this small field, but he has run in decent flat handicaps over shorter, so should be okay.

Second in this year's crazy Champion Hurdle and has form far better than anything here. Rubaud is the danger, but he's been running over fences (Chases) - today is hurdles. Been running on the flat in Group races over short, so has the speed.

Looks like a great race. Conditions favor Ombudsman. The trip is too short now for Calandagan, and Delacroix may prefer slightly shorter. Ombudsman beat Delacroix fair and square at York, and there's no reason why he can't do the same again.

Missed the Arc and has come here instead. No match for Minnie Hauk at York, but she proved top class with her 2nd in the Arc last week. Kalpana is the obvious danger and worthy favorite, but this looks like an afterthought after she ran in last week's Arc and was beaten 7 lengths.

The sprints have had a different winner each time, but with the ground being good, it'll favor Lazzat. Anywhere near his Royal Ascot win, which is head and shoulders above anything here, should be good enough. His run at Haydock last time was disappointing, but was he on the wrong side where the ground is softer?

Beaten less than 4 lengths in this last year, now carries 6 pounds less. The ground was soft last year and much faster today, that's a bit of a worry. The run at the Curragh two weeks ago was his best run this year, so he could be coming into his best form.

The National Stakes at the Curragh last month looks the best form line. Zavateri just got the better of Gstaad on a head bob. That was Gstaad's first attempt at 7f, which can make a bit of a difference. Better ground today (G-F) may also be better for Gstaad.

Improved with every run this season and should be unbeaten this year (run left too late at Royal Ascot). Won on soft ground in April and, although the ground is not ideal, everything else is. Zarigana is the danger but how good is she? Got the French 1,000 in the stewards room and disappointing at Royal Ascot which was her last run. The 7f will favor More Thunder as well.

Runs well in big fields, and last time out over 6 1/2f was the best, just tiring in the last half furlong. Drop back to the straight 6f looks better and will not mind the soft ground. Up in class but looks good enough.
