Surely Top of The Class is overpriced here as she has been 2nd here in a class 4 off 73 four runs ago. Three runs ago, she was 2nd also off 73 in a class 5 apprentice with today's jockey on board. She ran poorly last time out when 4th of 9, but that was after a 109-day layoff at Southwell, where she has never done well.

After this came 3rd here at Cheltenham last month in what looked like a hot race, it went straight in the notebook. That was after a wind operation, so it is often said to back them on the 2nd start after that procedure. So expect more improvement, and the forecast heavy rain will play to his strengths.

I believe the step up to 2m 5f and the forecast soft ground will be ideal for this gelding out of Shantou. After all, he won his point over 3m, and the sire does well on soft ground. Hopefully, Harry Skelton has picked the wrong one.

Lord Melbourne is still fairly lightly raced considering he is 5, but seems to be improving still. With a soft ground win here at Donny under his belt, he must go well. Though I'm a little worried about the bounce factor after his win at Epsom 6 weeks ago, which was after a nearly year-long break.

With such a short-priced favorite in Danielle, we are getting some juicy odds on others. So I have plumped for Warda Jamila, who has never raced on anything worse than good-soft. But 2 of her 3 wins came on that going. I believe being out of a Montjeu mare and Calyx as the sire, who seem to go well on heavy, this might outrun her huge odds.

After 9 runs on the grass, Huscal was then sent to Kempton for a 7f class 4, where he finished 2nd off 83. Then, 4 weeks ago, he returned to finish 5th off 85, where he had to come from the back through horses and was closing at the line. Although drawn high this time, he should be able to drop in and come round the whole field up the straight.

This went off at 40/1 on debut and finished 4th of 5, so no shock there. But to me, she wasn't disgraced and was hanging right around the left bend. So Kempton should suit more and is bred to like Polytrack.

Horses out of Territories seem to improve on extreme heavy going. So if this meeting is on (more rain forecast), Laplander could spring a surprise. The jockey is very good at this level, although a first try at this distance on heavy is a slight worry though.

Miilan offspring go well here at Warwick, and his 4th at Worcester 20 days ago will put him spot on for this. Though it is hard to get a gauge on his French form, he did have a third to Sir Gino and also a third to Burdett Road in his juvenile days. He's obviously had problems, and we wouldn't want too much rain.

I'm hoping a change of stable will put some life back into Troy Story after four average runs this season, though three were in class 4s. The angle here is Troy Story's first run in a handicap last November was here at Kempton in a class 4 off 76, where he was beaten only a neck. Today, back here for the first time, we are in a class 5 off 70, so hopefully, he'll go well.

Superposition has yet to win over 7f after 5 efforts. However, the run here two runs back was in a hot race over 1m and only faded late. That was also from a high draw.

Although we are up in grade, at these odds and 4 places, it's worth a shout. Especially as we are fit and in form and will go on the ground. Plus, Passing Glance offspring have gone well at Ascot in the past.

Having had three runs, Valkyrie Storm looks quite exposed. However, the second run at Chepstow when 3rd looked promising to me. Her last run at Southwell was very lacklustre. I believe being out of Saxon Warrior, the swap to Polytrack will see her outrun her double-figure odds.

Horses out of Doctor Dino tend to go well at Cheltenham. So although the form on Service Minimum is not up to winning this, she is worth a play at big odds and 5 places. Harry Skelton has chosen this over their other runner.

This looks a massive price to me, especially after her run when beaten by just over a length by Minnie Hawk in the Irish Oaks. The 4th last time was over an inadequate 1m2f, and back over 1m4f should play to her strengths. She also gets the 3yo allowance.

This looks like a good each-way bet to me. Siren Suits' debut was respectable enough when 6th on debut at Newbury, but nothing special. Then his 3rd over 5f here at Ascot, beaten under a length, has worked out well with the winner now off 114, the 2nd 103, and the 4th 106, which would put him right in the mix here. The layoff of 161 days after is a bit worrying, but the win 2 weeks ago over 7f at Kempton would have taken the freshness off, and I expect a good run.
