Trainer Lizzy Quinlan has had many runners placed here at Carlisle in the recent past. Jockey Sean Quinlan is on the board. He has 2 wins and 2 places in 14 rides at this course this season. Expecting Gaelic Warrior to win this one. Course and festival winner. Won the Arkle Chase in 2024. Ran well to place, finishing second to winner Fact to File in the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown. Kept on well in the end, so the extended trip should help. Won Class 1 and Grade races over fences many times, including the Bowl Cup at Aintree in April 2025. Trainer Willie Mullins has a good record in this race, winning consecutively four times in recent years. Paul Townend is on the saddle again. He rode winners three times in the last four years for Mullins. So I think Gaelic Warrior is worth a gamble in this one.

Two attempts in the last two seasons at the Festival but failed to do well both times. Looks in much better form this time. Willie Mullins has been doing well in this race over the last five years. Jockey Danny Mullins won on Kargese yesterday. He is on board to ride Argento Boy. So I think Argento Boy is worth an each-way shout at these odds.

Good value for Kaid Dauthie. Won impressively in the Ladbrokes Novice Chase by 4+ lengths in February. The step up in trip should not bother him much today. Trainer Willie Mullins won back-to-back two times in the last couple of years. Jockey Mark Walsh rode the winner for him on Fact to Fire in 2024. He is on board. He is in good form and rode a winner and one place yesterday. So I think Kaid Dauthie has a good chance in this one.

Taking a chance on Ballyfad. Won the Maiden Hurdle at Leopardstown in December. Lost by just a short head to Talk The Talk in a Grade 1 contest in February over 16f. A step up in trip should do the job for him, as he won over 3m in a point-to-point earlier in his career. Jockey Jack Kennedy has a 21% strike rate riding over hurdles for Gordon Elliott this season. He has a much better strike rate riding over this distance. So I think Ballyfad has a good chance in this one.

Taking a chance on Grand Geste. Won at Haydock over 3m4½f on good to soft in a Class 1 graded handicap chase. Up 5 lb today, but the longer trip should work in his favour. Trainer duo Joe Parkinson and Sue Smith have a good strike rate of 25% over handicap chases this season. Jockey Danny McMenamin is 8 from 26 over handicap chases for these trainers this season. So I think Grand Geste is a good each-way bet in this one.

Taking a chance on Booster Bob. Distance winner. Has won three times over fences so far. Won a Class 1, Grade 3 contest at Newbury last season. Decent run to place 5th of 11 runners at Cheltenham in January on softer ground. I think he will improve on better ground today. Jockey Sean Bowen has a 25% record over fences for trainer Olly Murphy. So I think Booster Bob has a good chance in this one.

Expecting Lossiemouth to win this one comfortably. Won the Mares' Hurdle at the Festival last year. Placed behind Brighterdaysahead in the Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on heavy ground, but good-to-soft going should work in her favour. Ticks most of the boxes for the trend regarding this race. Willie Mullins has a fine record in the Champion Hurdle over the last 10 years. Brighterdaysahead looks like the main threat.

Hyland is a course-and-distance winner. Yet to win in a graded contest but has placed a couple of times. Ran well last time out at Ascot to place in a 12-runner race over 24f. Slightly longer trip today should help. Trainer Nicky Henderson won this one in 2019 with Beware the Bear. His horses are in good form over fences. Has a 36% SR in graded races this season. Nico de Boinville is on board and has an excellent SR of 40% over fences in graded contests this season. So I think Hyland has a good chance. Myregtown looks like the main threat.

Good value for Pourquoi Pas Papa. Placed in all three starts over hurdles so far. Won last time out at Wincanton over 15f under Harry Cobden. He is onboard again. Trainer Paul Nicholls has a decent record in this one. Had many wins in the last. His horses are in decent form, especially in handicap hurdles. Pourquoi Pas Papa is yet to win over this distance but has placed a couple of times. So I think he is worth an each-way shout.

Saratoga is yet to win over hurdles but has been placed in all three starts so far. She lost by just three-quarters of a length at Naas in a GAA-rated hurdle. Horses that ran in that race had decent success at the Festival. Trainer Padraig Roche won this race in 2022. His horses have been in very good form over the last two weeks. Jockey Mark Walsh has ridden three winners in the last 10 years in this race and is on board again. So I think Saratoga is worth a shout at these odds.
