Standing dish for this stable. Winning two more Battle Hurdles and a Scottish Champion Hurdle, so looks unfairly priced here. Especially as he was a very good 7th in this race last year, and this likely will have been the target again.

One of the most open Triumph Hurdles for years, and this horse catches the eye. A very expensive, top-class flat recruit who was well touted for this race at 1 point but disappointed in his two runs over hurdles, failing at very short odds. Connections have still turned up here, giving me belief that for the Henderson stable, who has won this race plenty of times, he could far outrun these odds.

Has been around here plenty of times, mainly for the Twiston-Davies team. But for the new stable he ran so well two runs back when a close second. Disappointing last time, but easy to forgive that, and he's back at a track he's done well at plenty of times, including three times at the Festival. He will do for me.

Plenty to like in here, and this horse is very interesting. He was a multiple winner until disappointing with two pulled-ups, but the stable was going through a poor spell in which they closed for a month. Since reopening they have had winners and plenty of placed runners. This horse ran well when fourth in a race he won last year, and now he's here as a well-weighted, fresh horse. I'll chance him.

A surprise to see him here after a brilliant performance over 3 miles 1, beating Gaelic Warrior and Galopin des Champs. He is the reigning champion here and is 2 from 2 at Cheltenham. Despite often a horse putting in a monster performance and not backing it up, he is still hard to oppose.

I know he was beaten here last year, but he's still the previous winner and looked as good as ever this season, winning two Grade 1s. Having the extra run this season could be the key. He's always been known to want or need soft ground, but bolted in on good-to-soft last time. More of the same will see off these, including his stablemate Honesty Policy and Kabral du Mathan, who for me is too free to stay this far. It's all Teahupoo.

Taken well to fences with a very good win two runs back, jumping well. He was then given an inadequate test over two miles when he just couldn't keep up. Yes, he has to prove himself at this trip, but he's a winner over further here, just like other horses such as Hardy Eustace, Brave Inca, and Istabraq. So, with a truly run, champion-type race??"which there almost always is??"if he can keep himself handy, he should be putting in a power-packed finish to come up the hill in front in what is far from a vintage renewal.

Lulamba just hasn't impressed me over fences despite winning. Last time, in The Game Spirit at Newbury, he jumped big and deliberate at a lot and was driven, but ultimately outstayed them in the end. It wasn't the sign of a speed horse for the Arkle. So I turn to the speedball of the party in Kopek, as he's the supreme winner and was slick and quick on his fencing debut. Despite not seeing him since due to small issues, it's easy to see him being too quick for these if he jumps well. I'm worried Lulamba won't even make it round.

This race is decent but therefore tricky, so I'm going to take a chance each way on this horse. He's got the engine and Cheltenham form, having been placed in the Champion Bumper. So, despite his form not being up to the others' standard, there's no doubt he has a much bigger performance in him. He looks the proven 2-mile speed horse in here, and the price looks fair.
