Hasn't won for a while but has been knocking on the door. Not in the race last time, but prior to that was running on late for placed efforts. The race is likely to have good pace, so he is taken to finally get back in the winners' enclosure in a slightly weaker contest. Forecast 9/2.

Listed winner in France and has dropped in the handicap since coming to the UK. Ran his best race yet when a big eye-catcher last time at Thirsk, staying on powerfully late with running left in the tank. Will be very hard to stop off the same mark here. Nap at 9/4.

Has a good strike rate at this level and, after a dry spell, duly bounced back for a new yard when coming with a late rattle to get back to winning ways with a rare turf win. All previous flat wins came on the all-weather, so looks a good bet to win again here, with the drop back in trip offset by the stiff finish here. Forecast 5/1.

Still a maiden after 16 starts but has been in good form. Slightly disappointing on turf the last couple of runs, but travels better on the all-weather and has been given a chance by the handicapper (down 3 pounds since the last AW run). Well drawn in stall one and Marquand booked; should go close. Forecast 9/2.

Best performance came here as a two-year-old when winning the Gimcrack in fine style. Has had problems since but returned with a good run at Lingfield before winning last time at Wolverhampton. Back here under perfect conditions, looks good value under Murphy. Each-way Nap at 8/1.
