Had a great season last season, culminating in a second-placed effort in the Weatherbys Champion Hurdle at the Festival to the high-class Bambino Fever. He continued that form by winning on his hurdles debut before running an excellent second in the Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle, form which has been franked well. He probably did too much that day, and with several pacemakers in here, he may not need to be ridden so aggressively and can get back to winning ways.

On the very best of his hurdle form he would be a shoe-in, and this season's runs could be overlooked. His first two runs in novice chase company showed he did not enjoy that discipline when unseating in his attempt over fences, and then a down-the-field effort in a hot novice event behind high-class novice Lulamba (the first three have all won since). He was then put back over hurdles and ran 5th of 6 behind current Champion Hurdle favourite Sir Gino, with last year's champion Golden Ace in second and the reliable 149-rated Rubaud in third. He meets nothing of that calibre today and, despite giving weight away, still looks nicely treated on last year's graded form and is a worthy each-way selection from an in-form stable.

Has improved for the step up in distance and is highly thought of by his stable, who think he could be a graded hurdler over this type of trip. To do that, he must be capable of winning a handicap from this mark, and on his handicap debut he can back those thoughts up by taking this.

When he stands up he is an excellent horse. Although he appears to jump well in the main, he has the odd blip. His record over fences is 3 wins, two falls, and one unplaced. He likes to lead from the front and will be taking on for the lead by the improving Konfusion. But if his jumping holds up, he can take this for his in-form team.

An open-looking race. The way this one won on a similar type of track leaves scope for improvement in what looks a winnable race. She is one of only four runners with proven heavy-ground form, and her flat-bred speed should see her run well.

Won his first two before running an excellent second in the Boodles Hurdle at Aintree. He started this campaign well down the field to Wilful and appeared not to settle in that race. A visor and tongue strap are added today. It is interesting that Harry Cobden has opted for this one from the stable's three entries, including a better-fancied one in the market. Looks a good each-way proposition to rekindle last season's form.

Ran too bad to be true last time out and was pulled up soon after jumping the second, with something clearly amiss. We can draw a line through that run, although nothing conclusive came from it. His two previous runs are better pieces of form. He won a Class 4 at Plumpton and followed that up with a Class 3 run here. Presuming his last poor run came too soon after the last win, combined with the drop back to a Class 3, he could at least reach the frame here.

Was a revelation in veteran chases last term, winning three times, including a Veterans' Final and finishing runner-up twice, before finishing fifth on his final start. He needed his run on his return this year at Cheltenham when seventh of eight, but has been aimed at this race. Although the stable are not in the best of form, they did have a winner three days ago and can run well here.

Is becoming expensive to follow, but back on a track that will suit his front-running style, he can recoup some of those losses. His two poor runs have both come at Cheltenham, whereas his best runs have come on tight tracks. With the stable boasting a 31% strike rate here, he can run well at a nice price.
