A very good hurdler at his best. He is yet to run anywhere near that form in his three chase starts to date, but excuses can be made for his poor showing last time out. He does not appear to stay three miles as shown in the Kauto Star Novice Chase here last time and is much better suited at this distance. First-time cheekpieces could sharpen up his jumping, and he is a nice price based on his hurdle form. He has no Kitzbuhel to contend with for the pace in here.

He is 6 lb lower here following his long absence and three years older, but the owners and trainers have persisted with him. He could again snatch a place at big odds.
