Sean Bowen picked the stable's other runner, Go Dante, but he can't ride both and he has to stick with the horse who's a multiple winner of this race. Fingle may have enough class to give the weight away today; he won a Listed race as a novice.

Umala won her maiden at Dundalk at the second attempt over 1m 2f back in April last year. She was then highly tried by the previous trainer and, since the switch to a new trainer, has run in two handicaps at Dundalk. The first handicap, run over 1m 2f, was disappointing, but the last run over 2m was more favourable. Drawn wide, which was not ideal, she stayed on at the business end to finish fourth. Dropped a further pound, she has place claims back at her favourite track and at a distance she appears to want.

Won at Kempton the first time he had seen a racecourse, and several winners have come from that race, although it was back in 2024 and was a maiden. I always like a maiden winner returning here and it's the first time back since the maiden win. He has gone on to win a handicap at Wolverhampton and obviously handles the course and distance. He was a beaten favourite last time at Newcastle, and Holly Doyle being booked is good for me.

The trainer Neil King is red hot at the moment. Of course, as he's mainly a National Hunt trainer, that doesn't necessarily translate on the Flat. But it proves the horse is in fine form. Steps up in trip tonight, and no doubt the future probably lies over the jumps. He has been well fancied on the Flat in the last couple of runs and won a Class 6 over 2 miles at Lingfield.

Teggy Lasso is on a basement mark for the first time in a handicap, and as a 4yo is open to improvement. The Ivan Furtado stable is in fine form with three winners in the last fortnight, and the jockey David Nolan is also in form with a similar number of winners in the last fortnight. It will be interesting to see how Teggy Lasso gets on from stall 1, which seems an advantage to me.

Ahanaglogh is taken to step up on his forst run in a handicap when second at Hereford. Might not find an easier opportunity all season with onlt Palawan Du Mazet a serious contender. Palawan Du Mazet looked an unlikely winner last time with his jumping particually average. But stormed up the straight to win well , the thing is can he do that again after a hard race and 21 day rest. Not sure myself and therefore Ahanaglogh is more of a default selection from a in form stable and lots of scope for improvement.

Going with the class horse in the race, Alto Alto. He is well clear on official ratings, and the two below in the betting both have negatives for me. Kitsilano won last race, but the form book says it needs more of a break between races and doesn't seem to back up a win. So the eleven-day return put me off. Known Warrior, from a stable out of form, is unexposed but lacks experience. Alto Alto is a course- and distance winner and back to Class 4. He is the nap.

Edergoles Gift has to be forgiven the last run when tailed off at this course when a 7/2 chance in the market. Many will be put off by that performance; hence the 25/1 price for this. Going back just five runs finds a Chelmsford Class 6 win off 52. So maybe the handicapper is catching up a bit, as the handicap mark is now 58. But he ran second off this mark at Lingfield two runs back and represents an each-way bet tonight.

Kapitein Kool's recent second to Calvino looks like good enough form to take this today. There's good reason to oppose Doctor Blue after a disappointing run at Doncaster over Christmas. He was a short-priced favourite that day and the trainer reported the horse to have bled. So although my original fancy put me off, Kapitein Kool is a 5yo rated 2 lb below favourite Lisborne Park, so there's not much in it. At the odds, it's Kapitein Kool for me.
