Gian van Veen reached the final of the World Championship only a few weeks ago, and I do think he can win the Bahrain Masters. He is world number three now, and I think the Dutch darts player will start the World Series with a win.

Nathan Aspinall has reached the semifinals before in the Bahrain Masters, and I do think he is in the easier half of the draw. Aspinall can beat anybody in the first-to-six format, and I think he can reach the final in Bahrain.

Manchester City won midweek in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Newcastle United. Last weekend they scored ten in the FA Cup against Exeter City. United are struggling since Amorim left, and I do think City will go to Old Trafford and outclass them to win today's early game.

Chelsea beat Brentford 2-1 last season at home, and I do think they will get their first win today under their new manager. Brentford have lost away to City, Spurs, Arsenal, and Brighton, and I think the Blues will win this match.

Liverpool beat Barnsley 4-1 earlier this week in the FA Cup, and they have now won three of four at Anfield. The last time Burnley were in the Premier League they lost 3-1 away to Liverpool, and I think the Reds will win today's game.

Matthieu Pavon has only played the Sony Open once, and he finished 7th. I do think with his back in Hawaii this week that he can have another good week and finish as one of the top Europeans on the leaderboard.

Daniel Hillier has been playing some good golf since October and has four top-ten finishes. I do think, after finishing last year with top-six finishes in the BMW Australian PGA and the Crown Australian Open, that he could be a very good pick to win in Dubai.

Lincoln 2024, the English golfer, won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and he also finished third in the Dubai Desert Classic. I do think Paul Waring could be a good each-way bet in this Dubai Invitational.
Rasmus Neergaard Petersen

Runner-up in Qatar last year, and he was also third in Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship. I do think Rasmus Neergaard is a very good golfer. After winning his last tournament at the Australian Open, he could do the same in the Dubai Invitational.
Thriston Lawrence

Two years ago Thriston Lawrence was second in this Dubai Invitational, and I do think he will be back to have another go at winning it. I think, with top-six finishes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in big tournaments, that the South African golfer can be one to invest in this week.

The season before last, Paul Waring won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and he also had a top-three in the Dubai Desert Classic. I do think he could play well this week, and I think he is a good bet to finish as one of the top GB and Ireland golfers.

Judd Trump was beaten in the final of the UK Championship, and I do think he is going to be right there in another of snooker's Triple Crown events. I like the part of the draw that Trump is in, and I think the 2019 winner can win another Masters.

Neil Robertson has Ronnie O'Sullivan in the first round, and there are doubts over whether The Rocket will bring his A game. The Australian reached the semifinals of the UK Championship last month, and I do think Robbo can reach the final of The Masters as he is having a very good season.

Billy Horschel has finished 7th before in the Sony Open, and I do think starting the year healthy will be a big thing for the American golfer. He was 11th and 15th in his last two tournaments, and I think Horschel could win in Hawaii.

The Japanese golfer had an excellent 2025 with several runner-up finishes in Europe and a string of top-10 results. He has shown he can plot his way around tight courses and doesn't mind the wind, so I do think Keita Nakajima can make a good start to the new year in the Sony Open.

Nick Dunlap is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, and last year he was top ten at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He was tied for eighth in his last PGA Tour event, and I do think Nick Dunlap could be a very big price to do well in this tournament.

Nick Taylor is the defending champion, and he has won five times on tour. He also won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in the wind, and I do think the Canadian could start 2026 with a fine week at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Chris Kirk has finished second twice and third once since 2014 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. I do think the American golfer is always a contender at this tournament. I think he can finish as one of the top players from his country.

Doug Ghim, in his last three tournaments, has gotten better and finished 31st, then 13th, then 7th. I do think that after making the cut last year he will be much better this year and can finish as one of the top Americans.

Tied 8th in his last tournament on the PGA Tour, which was the World Wide Technology Championship. Last year Nick Dunlap was top ten in Hawaii. I do think the American can do well in the Sony Open again, and I think in the Top American market he looks a good bet.

The American golfer was 7th and 9th in his last two tournaments, and I do think he will be confident of a good week at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He has been 3rd and 6th at this tournament, and I do think he could be one of the top Americans on the leaderboard.

Brentford have lost Mbeumo and Norgaard in the summer and other players like Wissa and Collins have been linked with moves away. They only appointed Keith Andrews as manager and I don't think he will last the season, I think Brentford will struggle and will end up in the bottom three.

Josh Rock had a very good 2025 after changing manufacturer to Target. I do think 2026 will be a year in which the Northern Irishman wins titles and takes that next step to the very highest level of the game. I think Rocky can win his debut year in the Premier League.

Liverpool have signed Isak, Wirtz, Ekitike and full backs Kerkez and Frimpong and I do think they have a squad that can conquer Europe. The six time European Champions topped the league stage last year and I think they will build on that to lift the Champions League this season.

The Dutch have made eleven appearances in the World Cup and have reached the final three times in 1974, 1978, and most recently in 2010. I do think they have their best squad in some years right now, and they are also former European Champions. Since being runner-up in South Africa 2010, they were third in Brazil 2014 and a quarter-finalist in 2022 in Qatar. I think the Netherlands can make it to another World Cup final in 2026.
Portugal

Portugal reached the quarterfinals at the last World Cup in 2022 in Qatar. I do think the squad they have now could win a World Cup. They won the European Championship in 2016, and with this being Ronaldo's last dance and the memory of Diogo Jota, I think Portugal will become World Champions.
