Defiance1982's Tips

17th June 2026
14:30 2:30 Royal Ascot

Wild Blossom

Daily Racing

25 EW

One run so far, but it resulted in a massive ten-length victory at Carlisle in Class Two company. Expected to improve on the next run out, so may have a great chance here.
15:05 3:05 Royal Ascot

Galiyan

Daily Racing

50 WIN

Ran far too green on debut at Newmarket, but won nicely at Chester latest in Group Two company by two lengths against an odds-on favourite. Should have no issues up in trip.
15:40 3:40 Royal Ascot

Blue Bolt

Daily Racing

50 WIN

Placed 2nd twice and won four of the last six runs, including the latest victory at Goodwood in a field of six, coming back from a 210-day break. The horse that came 2nd in that race had won three of their last four efforts. Friendly Soul pulled up in its last race, so this is my preferred option.
16:20 4:20 Royal Ascot

Almaqam

Daily Racing

25 EW

A horse that has been out of the top four just twice in twelve career runs, mostly in top-drawer company. Last run was a two-length win in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at Curragh despite a long break from the track. Second place in that race went on to win by ten lengths in the Coolmore Coronation Cup.
17:00 5:00 Royal Ascot

Indalo

Daily Racing

25 EW

Kind of like taking a pin, closing your eyes, and seeing where it lands when there are thirty runners. Indalo lost by a neck and a nose in Class Two company at both Newmarket and Newbury latest, just failing in largely big fields. Won at both Southwell and Sandown prior to that, and still quite progressive.
17:35 5:35 Royal Ascot

Stateira

Daily Racing

25 EW

3rd last time out at Curragh, although only a length off the leader who made it a hat-trick of wins. Won three in the last four races prior to that, all by two lengths or more. Mark keeps raising, but still looks progressive and able to handle it.
18:10 6:10 Royal Ascot

Sergei Diaghilev

Daily Racing

50 WIN

Winner on debut at the Curragh in a field of eight as an odds-on favourite. Hard to see him losing here, with the second-place runner in that last race going on to win the next race.

15:45 Dutch Ladies Open

Dorthea Forbrigd

25 EW

Missed this tournament last year, but a steady improver here the past two years, finishing 7th in 2023 and 5th in 2024. Came 5th in the Jabra Ladies Open two weeks ago.
22:45 Meijer LPGA Classic

Carlota Ciganda

25 EW

Decent form here, placing top twenty the last three times in this tournament. I tipped her last year and she went on to win this at a big price, finishing one clear of Choi Hye-Jin. Sixth in the Riviera Maya Open back in April.
22:45 US Open

Sam Burns

25 EW

A couple of bad rounds, but still managed 9th back in 2024. Took 7th last year when unable to hold the top spot on the last day after a shocking last-round eight-over. Decent each-way value if a bit better this year.

12:00 World Cup 2026 Group D

Turkiye

Group Betting

50 WIN

Turkey are a strong side that like to get forward and put pressure on their opponents. We saw them make a decent effort back in 2024 in the Euros, so I think they will put in a good effort in the group stages. I can't see Australia, Paraguay, or the USA putting up a big challenge here. The latter, with home advantage, will probably take second.
12:00 World Cup 2026 Group F

Sweden

Group Betting

50 WIN

With both Györkös and Isak up front, Sweden will have the firepower this year to make them better contenders. There is something not quite right about the Netherlands this year, and Tunisia are not great overall to put in a challenge. Japan I can see being the threat, but they haven't beaten Sweden for a while now after a number of matches.
19th July 2026
12:00 World Cup 2026

Portugal

50 WIN

Finished in the quarter-finals in both their last World Cup and Euros efforts, losing 1-0 to Morocco and beaten on penalties by France, respectively. With this being Ronaldo's potential last World Cup for his country, we might see just that little bit more from a side that deal with fine margins.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Top Goalscorer

50 WIN

With Messi and Argentina winning the last World Cup, I think we might see a more inspired Ronaldo looking to do the same with Portugal this year in potentially his last World Cup. With Congo and Uzbekistan both joining them and Colombia in the group, this will be a great opportunity for this talisman to rack up a few goals before potentially meeting a third-place side like Paraguay to apply his trade.
