Ballymagreehan is a 4yo gelding trained by David Marnane and ridden by Luke McAteer. He is a course winner over a mile off 52 and has been ultra-consistent, finishing 3-2-3-3-7 off an inflated handicap mark. He was disappointing over 6f on his last start, but he was backed, if defeat was out of the question, being sent off 7-2f from an opening 11-2. He was never better than midfield over 6f in that contest, but today's step up to 7f should suit. Luke McAteer rides today, replacing Donagh O'Connor, and is 20/72 wins for David Marnane in all-aged handicaps and 19/48 wins if 10-1 or less, showing a healthy LSP of £70.87. Ballymagreehan is of significant interest, particularly if he again attracts some strong market support.

Inishfallen is a 5yo gelding trained by Stephen Thorne. He makes his third start for a stable that has, in recent times, been very familiar with the winners' enclosure. He's an ex-UK trained horse who has posted a career-high RPR of 98 and runs today off 80, with apprentice Jack Kearney taking off 3 lb, so he is clearly well handicapped. He produced an encouraging recent effort in the circumstances and is down 3 lb since. He remains unexposed on the AW surface with just a handful of starts, so he has definite claims in this grade for a yard that has been among the winners of late, with River Of Life on debut and Ocean Manifest a recent stable switcher, both ridden by Jack Kearney (24/110 wins for Thorne boasting a 22% win strike rate). What is there not to like?

Griselda is a 4yo gelding is trained by Henrietta C. Knight, a trainer not renowned for her sprinters. He is an ex-Michael Appleby horse who comes here in terrible form and runs off a career-low handicap mark of 55. A three time winner as a juvenile off 60-63-69 but has been in decline since. He runs in a Class 6 for just the second time since a juvenile and has form figures of 1-1-1-8 in Class 6 handicaps. The latest he finished 8/8 at Lingfield, beaten 4.5 lengths but ran better than the bare form figures suggest: midfield, dropped to rear over 3f out, headway inside the final 110 yds, no telling impression (jockey said the filly was denied a clear run on the run to the line), finishing just 0.75l behind today's fancied rival Pinjarra (2 lb worse off today). Henrietta C. Knight's yard are in much better form now, with her last horses finishing 2-2-2-3 at prices 11-2, 40-1, 20-1 and 16-1. So it wouldn't be a surprise if Griselda, owned by J & A Young (Racing) Limited (Knight won with an Appleby castoff Educator at 28-1 and 9-1 for owners), bounced back to some form in this grade.

Mbappe is a 5yo gelding trained by Mark Loughnane and ridden by Billy Loughnane. He comes here in good heart, having finished third over C&D last week, and remains well handicapped on peak form, winning three times in 2024 off marks of 57-60-64, the former being a course win of just a 1 lb lower mark. Mark Loughnane excels in handicaps here at Kempton when Billy rides; they are 13/61 wins in handicap company, showing a LSP of £57.15. Together they are 8/23 in Class 6 handicaps, LSP £69.83. Mbappe is my short-priced banker of the day having solid form at the track and a very workable handicap mark.
