Stealthy Tom finished a neck 2nd in this race in 2023, behind Vital Island who is now a 13yo but has to be respected for a trainer who had a 1-2 in the first cross country race at this meeting on Tuesday. Stealthy Tom had been a little out of sorts recently but bounced back with a good 3rd behind Vanilier in February and warmed up for this with a spin over hurdles which should leave him spot on.

Teahupoo has found one too good on both of his starts this season but that's still a strong level of form which in my view sets the standard. He dotted up in this race last year when beating Asterion Forlonge by 6.5L in similar conditions and the rest have yet to prove they can get to his level.
