Galileo Dame

Daily Racing

50 EW

Galileo Dame is an interesting dual-purpose runner who arrives here in strong form over hurdles. She bolted up by 11 lengths in a mares’ maiden hurdle over 2m on heavy ground last time out. Her recent flat form is less convincing, which raises a question, but her earlier profile suggests she has the ability to be competitive in this sphere. Notably, she finished 2nd in a Listed race over 1m4f behind Hamish (rated 117), which is a high-level piece of form in the context of this race. She has also proven her effectiveness on testing ground, having won a fillies’ maiden over 1m2f on heavy back in April 2024. If able to translate her hurdle form back onto the flat and return to her earlier level, she has the class to be involved, though she does come with some risk attached given her recent flat efforts.

Kizlyar

Daily Racing

100 WINNAP

Kizlyar is an interesting runner reverting to the Flat after three underwhelming efforts over hurdles, where he didn’t appear to take to jumping. This switch back to 1m6f looks a positive move, and he makes his handicap debut off a mark of 94. There is a strong case that this mark underestimates his ability based on his French form. He won an €11k contest at Compiègne on good to soft by 3 lengths, travelling strongly and asserting readily, with the runner-up Seine showing useful form ties through Sunly, who has competed at Group 2 level and posted RPRs of 106. He also finished 2nd over 1m4f on very soft ground at Lyon-Parilly, beaten 4½ lengths by Native Irish, who has since finished 2nd in a Listed race with an RPR of 101 ??" again suggesting solid form. Given his proven effectiveness on soft and very soft ground, the expected heavy conditions should hold no fears, and stepping up to 1m6f could unlock further improvement. If translating that French form, he looks potentially well handicapped.

Me Tarzan

Daily Racing

100 WINNB

Me Tarzan looks poised to go very close back in the right conditions. His last win came in a Class 5 0??"70 handicap at Lingfield, where he made all and just held on. That run highlighted how effective he can be when dominating from the front. He has since struggled off higher marks, but there was clear encouragement last time when fourth over 7f in a Class 5 0??"70, beaten just 1 length off a mark of 70 despite being pressured for the lead throughout. He has also previously finished third over course and distance off 68, again beaten only 1 length, so his form at this level is consistent. Back in a small field here, he could get a much softer time on the front end, which would suit perfectly. The added 7 lb claim further enhances his chances, and under these conditions he looks set to go very close.

Ernies Valentine

Daily Racing

100 WIN

Ernie’s Valentine could be a bit of a sleeper in this field based on some of his past and recent form. His latest effort saw him finish 4th over 1m½f here off 68, beaten just 2½ lengths after being outpaced before staying on ??" a run that suggested he retains ability. That race is beginning to look stronger too, with Mao Shang Wong (3rd) winning since over 1m2f at Doncaster, while others in behind have shown progression. Looking further back, he ran a solid 4th over course and distance in a Class 4 handicap off 72 in October 2024, beaten 1¾ lengths by Tribal Wisdom, who he reopposes here. On these revised terms, there’s a case for him turning that form around. He also has a previous Class 4 win over 7f off 71 (beating Vince Lombardi) prior to a stable change, suggesting a higher level of ability than his current mark. Although he’s had his issues, his mark has eased to 67, and with a 7 lb claim applied, he’s effectively very well treated. Given his profile and the likelihood this trip suits, he could be ready to go very close at a price.

Serious Look

Daily Racing

50 EW

Serious Look appeals as a potential value angle in what looks a competitive race. He arrives here on the back of a recent win over course and distance in a Class 5 handicap, getting up by a nose off a mark of 69. His overall record at this track and trip reads well (1-1-3-4-1-7-2), highlighting both consistency and a clear liking for these conditions. He had also previously won over course and distance in October off 64 and finished 2nd here prior to that, reinforcing his suitability to the setup. Now 3 lb higher at 72, he does need to find a bit more, but given his strong affinity for the track, that improvement is not out of the question. The wide draw is a concern, particularly if he’s forced to work early, but if able to get a position without expending too much energy, he has solid each-way claims.
