I'm taking a small chance on the returning to form, Cam Smith, who looks in good nick in recent weeks and having missed the cut in every major for 2 years, he finished a cracking t7 in the US PGA. At 80/1 he might represent a bit of value as he's been solid, which is definitely what will be needed given the challenging set up at Shinnecock Hills.

I'm having a small play on Argentina to retain their title on a value basis as 9/1 seemed too big given their experience in recent tournaments, having won the last World Cup and the last Copa America. They still have the core of the squad that won those titles and even with Messi's minutes being managed, they have enough to go deep into this tournament.

I expect Brazil to do well in this World Cup, favoured by the conditions and built around a solid defence and strong attack. I think Vini could be the beneficiary in terms of goals and he seemed a bit of value around 25/1 as often, it can only take 4 or 5 goals to win or place in this. If Brazil go deep into the tournament, I think he could be a big price.
