Theme - Wild West
Wild-west-themed slot games are popular among players - there are more games available that you can shake or stick at (or maybe point a gun at is more appropriate). However, the standout point for Rusty & Curly is the funny aspect of the game which makes it a happy-go-lucky gaming experience. The background creative shows the partners in crime in front of some craggy mountains in a frontier area of the USA.
A carved-out wooden grid is where you'll see a selection of vividly coloured Western-themed images. These, in order of highest value, are the Wild symbol, the Sheriff badge, a lucky horseshoe, a bottle filled with questionable green liquid, a cowboy hat, and an animal skull. These are then followed by the standard symbols of A, K, Q, and J which all have the same value.
Reels
The Rusty & Curly game has 5 reels and 4 rows to play on.
Paylines
Landing winning combos is possible on 14 paylines for the Rusty & Curly slot game.
RTP
Return to Player, or RTP, as you've probably seen it written on slot sites, is a way of forecasting what percentage of players' stakes will be returned to them over the long term. It's a theoretical figure and is always represented by a percentage that is usually around 96%. The Rusty & Curly RTP is above average at 96.29%.
There are different RTP rates available so you’ll need to check on the operator’s sites to find out which RTP they are offering. We’ve dug around and found a few different percentages in some of the top UK online casinos and added these sites to our table below.
It's worth mentioning that RTP is just one consideration when deciding which site to play at. You should also think about payment options, game library plus welcome bonuses and deals. Our casino reviews look at this info and much, much more.

Free Spins
There are 2 bonus rounds that can be triggered for the Rusty & Curly game. The first is the Stick to The Plan Bonus feature which is triggered by landing 3 FS scatter symbols. The setting is the same as the base game, in front of some Frontier mountains. You'll receive 6 free spins and an increasing chance that Wild Posters land with a greater number of Hearts and that bigger Multipliers will land too. During the bonus feature, Wild Poster multipliers can be between 2x - 100x. While there is at least one Wild Poster on the grid with one Heart or more, you will be given free respins that do not count towards your awarded free spins.
The second bonus round is the Who shot the sheriff? Bonus feature, which is triggered by landing 4 FS scatter symbols. This takes place in the main street of a frontier town. This is where Crispy and Chewy, their gormless sidekicks, make an appearance - they are a horse and a chicken, by the way. Here, you'll receive 12 free spins divided into 3 Cycles. This bonus feature consists of a 'Collect Phase' and a 'Payout Phase', which together make up 1 'Cycle' that consists of 1 Collect Phase spin and 3 Payout Phase spins.
- In the 'Collect Phase', either Rusty, Curly or both of them will land and expand to a Wild Reel on a random reel on the grid. They will then both shoot 1 to 6 times at the Multipliers that appear on the grid. The total value of the Multipliers they shoot at will be added to that Wild Reel in the Payout Phase. The available Multiplier values range between 1x - 200x.
- The 'Payout Phase' consists of 3 spins with paying symbols. The Rusty & Curly Wild Reels are sticky with Multiplier values carried over from the Collect Phase. After 3 Payout Phase spins, the game will revert back to the Collect Phase again. During the Payout Phase, Crispy & Chewy symbols can also land and expand to Wild Reels but will not have any multipliers. It's worth mentioning that Crispy & Chewy Wild Reels are not sticky. And if you land any additional FS symbols in this bonus feature, you'll receive extra cycles. 3 FS symbols = 1 additional cycle, and 4 FS symbols = 2 additional cycles.
Play Experience & First Impressions
Visually, the Free Spins bonus rounds were superb. The expanding reels are cut into the wooden grid, and Rusty & Curtly shoot at the multipliers with their guns. It took a couple of reads to understand the Payout and Collect phases, but once it was understood, it was straightforward. The multipliers go up to 200x and the expanding reels can mean even bigger wins.
Another highlight was the Almost Sticky Wild Posters feature, and again, it looks excellent on the reels. Here, all Wild Posters can land with Hearts, a Multiplier, or both. They stay on the grid and give respins as long as at least one Heart remains. It was fun seeing how many hearts would pop into the 3 placeholders that are available on the symbol which you can see below. Each Wild Poster can land with up to 3 Hearts and loses one Heart per respin. Once there are no Hearts left, the Wild Poster will be removed on the next respin. Wild Posters can also land with a random multiplier from between 2x - 10x. All landed FS symbols will be collected in the progress bar above the grid during the respins. If you manage to collect 3 or 4, you get a bonus.
