Tumble

When you land a winning combination of 8 or more identical symbols on the grid (or multiple wins), the Tumble feature comes into play. The contributed symbols in the win are removed from the grid which allows new ones to fall from above or come tumbling down.

Multiplier

To the side or above the grid, you’ll see Zeus hovering. Randomly on any spin, Zeus can activate the Multiplier feature with the Greek god adding 1 of 4 orbs to the grid. Zeus’ orbs contain multipliers ranging from 2x up to 500x.

If multiple orbs land, their values are added together and applied to the winning tumbles/combinations. The Multiplier orbs apply in both the base game and the Free Spins feature.

Free Spins

The Free Spins feature is played by landing 4 or more Zeus Scatter symbols on the same base game spin. With 4, 5 or 6 scatters awarding a payout of 3, 5 or 100 times your total bet respectively, you’ll enter Mount Olympus with 15 free spins.

Unlike the base game, multiplier Orbs will see their values added to the feature’s total multiplier when part of a win/tumble. With the total multiplier not resetting, multiplier Orbs will continue to increase the total multiplier.

If you think you’ve seen this game before, the Gates of Olympus slot has many similarities to Sweet Bonanza which was released in June 2019. Whilst Pragmatic Play has swapped a sickly sweet world to Mount Olympus, the gameplay is by en large the same.

Offering tumbles, Gates of Olympus has the added extra of multiplier orbs in the base game up to 500x. In the Free Spins feature, the same multipliers can apply but are added to the total multiplier when part of a win. In Sweet Bonanza, Rainbow Bomb Multipliers can reach 100x.

Thematically, Gates of Olympus will appeal to more players than Sweet Bonanza. The RTP rate is 96.5% is marginally higher too. That said, Sweet Bonanza offers maximum wins of 21,175 times your total bet whilst the Greek mythology version has top payouts of 5,000 times your total bet. You are more likely to achieve the max wins in Gates of Olympus though due to the higher multipliers in the base game and free spins.
