Squid Game Season 2 will officially launch in December and odds are given on what might happen

Season 2 of Squid Game has officially been given a launch date with the Netflix series set to premiere on the platform on December 26, 2024.

Netflix have given the show a Boxing Day release to fully take advantage of the festive watch time, with people around the globe looking for new shows to watch during their holiday period.

The latest teaser trailer for the second season of the hit Netflix show sees the latest entrants race against each other on an athletics track and it may be that we see some form of race as a game during the next season.

Betting sites have offered various markets in the past months around when the show will air, what could happen on the show and much more and OLBG has also looked at what games will be played.

Unsurprisingly the 100m race has come into favourite after that teaser trailer hinted at a sprint race and different playground games also feature such as Hide and Seek and Tag.

Netflix also announce that the series will end with Season 3 in 2025

The description in the YouTube upload of the latest Date Announcement trailer by Netflix for Squid Game Season 2 sees the streaming service confirm that "The final season is coming 2025".

Hwang Dong-hyuk, director, writer and executive producer of Squid Game also gives his own letter around the future of the show, confirming that it will wrap up the full story in Season 3.

Plenty of rumours have said that the show could continue over and over and over again due to its success but interestingly it seems like everyone has agreed to not overdo it and wrap everything up in true Squid Game style.

Hwang Dong-hyuk (Director, Writer, and Executive Producer of ‘Squid Game’):
Seong Gi-hun who vowed revenge at the end of Season 1 returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either. The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year. I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride. I hope you’re excited for what’s to come. Thank you, always, and see you soon, everyone.

Bookies give odds that Season 1's protagonist Seong Gi-hun enters and wins Squid Game again

Seong Gi-hun is the main protagonist of Season 1 of Squid Game and was confirmed to be returning to the show earlier this year when the full cast was released by Netflix.

Hwang Dong-hyuk though has now revealed that he will enter the game again in the second season with previous odds offered on whether the character would enter once more.

Further odds were given of Seong Gi-hun winning Squid Game again and those odds are still given with some betting sites at 6/4 that he will be crowned champion once more.
