Chelsea are 4/5 to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in remaining weeks of the window

One of the biggest transfer saga's of the summer transfer window rumbles on on Thursday with Liverpool reportedly outbidding Chelsea for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Despite those reports, UK Betting Sites have kept Chelsea as the favourites to sign with those same reports suggesting that the player would prefer a move to the Blues.

The Telegraph's Matt Law reported on Twitter on Thursday morning that Liverpool have outbid Chelsea in what looks to be a game of poker between the two sides.

The latest odds though say there's a 55% chance that Caicedo signs for Chelsea compared to a 47% implied probability from Liverpool's odds.

Liverpool 11/10 despite reportedly outbidding Chelsea for the player

Liverpool's odds make them second favourites in the market despite those reports from this morning with other sources suggesting that we could see a bidding war happen.

Popular Liverpool reporter Paul Joyce said in The Times that the club have made contact for Caicedo as part of their due diligence in the outcome that Chelsea don't go for the player.

That suggests then that Liverpool know that Caicedo wants to move to Chelsea and that could well see them then be free to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

Both teams feature in the Top 6 of the betting market to win the Premier League

Both Chelsea and Liverpool feature in the Top 6 of the betting odds to win the league this season with a potentially exciting season on the way in the title race.

Liverpool are third favourites at 8/1 whereas Chelsea are 12/1 and fifth favourites to win the league in Mauricio Pochettino's first year at the club.
