Lucas Paqueta now just 8/11 to sign for Manchester City this summer

The next transfer saga is here this summer with West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta now just 8/11 to sign for Manchester City in the current transfer window.

Bookmakers have made City odds-on to sign Paqueta despite reports in recent hours that the Hammers have rejected a bid worth £88m for the player.

Those reports from journalist Santi Aouna say that negotiations are progressing well but West Ham want more than that for Paqueta with the club holding out for £95m.

With bids of £110m being accepted for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo today it may be that West Ham's owners think that they can get even more for their player.

West Ham are evens to keep Paqueta with club holding out for big fee

Bookies feel that it's not a certainty of Paqueta moving to City in the remaining weeks of the transfer window with the latest odds close between him going or staying.

The current implied probability of Paqueta staying at West Ham is 50% which is just 7% less of a chance than him moving to the Etihad this summer.

David Moyes will not want to lose another one of his key players this summer following the £105m transfer of Declan Rice to Arsenal earlier in the window.

Manchester City are also odds-on to win the Premier League

Betting is also available on the Premier League Winner this season with Man City currently odds-on at 8/11 to win the title for the fourth time in a row this campaign.

Their odds may even shorten if Paqueta signs with the transfer strengthening their squad going into the new season and Pep Guardiola will want a key target.

City get their title defence under way on Friday night against former player Vincent Kompany's Burnley side where they go into the game as favourites.
